I'm gonna start by saying that I had an absolutely lovely time here with Craig S and our little one…read morebecause you may not get that impression from this review. We'd made the trip especially for this visit to the Sealife Centre though and I would recommend that you don't do that if you plan on visiting. While we spent a good chunk of time wandering around here, it's definitely not a full day visit type of place. The Sealife Centre was closing for refurbishment to the aquariam the very next day after our visit and I'm intrigued to see what they plan on doing with it. Some of the exhibits were lovely, very unique and colourful. But some were a bit on the tired side and could definitely do with a bit of a makeover. Highlights included the otters, who were very cute little show offs. They came up to see us when we went to the viewing platform and immediately jumped in the water to show off their swimming skills. They seemed very used to having visitors and looked like they were loving the attention. A very lovely addition to the sanctuary. The shark and ray feeding tank was my son's favourite. Seeing all those giant fish come to the surface for food kept him very amused. If it was a nicer day I'm sure he would have loved their big adventure park they have amongst the trees, but as it is situated on a natural boggy area it was way too damp to spend any considerable amount of time on. The seals - our main reason for visiting - were in a tank that I would probably have expected to be a bit cleaner and more accessible for viewing. They do have a little walk around that covers about a third of the area but I can imagine on busier days it would get quite cramped. The view wasn't the greatest on a day where we had the run of the place! We got tickets for this from Craig S's latest ski trip so we got a considerable discount on our entry. Two adults with the discount was £16, without it would have been £24 - and I can honestly say I would have felt a bit duped if I'd paid that to get into such a small centre. It's definitely a 3 star place. If we were in the area and had a discount pass again we'd probably nip in to see the refurbishment but it's not something we'd plan a whole day around again.

I visited here back in september when up in oban for my birthday and i really loved it…read more Its a little bit of a drive from oban but pretty well signposted and it was a glorious day so we didnt mind the drive at all. I agree with the other comments that it did in places appear a little bit run down so i am pleased to see that it is due to undergo an upgrade. The highlight for me tho was the sea lions. They are one of my favourite animals and they made the day. Im looking forward to returning after the upgrade to see whats been done.

I have a confession: I have been known to have epic tantrums post-mini golf in the past. I'm glad…read moreto say after Saturday's outing, coming second last and scoring a default 6 on most holes, I am now reformed: no more tantrums! Thanks to David A for organising this awesome UYE as part of the Festival of Firsts. We visited Jurassic Parrr on a cloudy/sunny Saturday to take on the challenge of 18 holes of dino-fun times. But first, we needed to conquer the cafe. There's lots of outdoor seating and comfy couches inside. We ordered at the counter after locating a menu - I went for a baked potato with ham and cheese. At a whopping £5.50 I was less than chuffed at the price but needs must - I would've definitely had a tantrum if I was required to mini golf on an empty stomach. The topping was great - more like gammon than ham, and lashings of cheese. The potato wasn't great though, a little dry. The outside of the potato was super crisp and yum, so I just scooped out most of the middle and ate the topping and skin. Onto the golf: it's £7.50 per adult and for that you get a putter, ball, and a score card. It's probably best to play in a group of 4 and so we split into two groups. There's some pretty cool holes along the way but it would be loads better if there was a bit of an upgrade and more novelty elements. All in all though, it was a pretty fun way to spend an hour or so, and I'd go back in the future.

We went to Jurassic Parr when we were in Glasgow as an activity for us to do in between other stuff…read morewe had planned for the day. What to say? Well, mini golf is mini golf. We generally enjoy playing mini golf and a themed mini golf park makes it just that much more enjoyable. We really enjoyed that this particular golf course takes into account 3 of our senses. You get the visual from the environment, the giant dinosaurs (some of them moves), the cave, the water, etc. They have speakers with growls and nature type sounds, it even smells like fire. Plus, they have an app to take down scores and as lovers of new technologies, we really enjoyed having the option to go paperless. The only downfall, was the small amount of "unusual" holes. There was only 3 or 4 holes which were directly linked to the theme, the others were just the usual plain holes you find in most mini golf courses (and not overly challenging at that). we really enjoyed our round, but we wont be going out of our way to go back again.

What an Amazing experience this was. The staff were all so great and friendly. Full of information…read moreand spent tons of time with the kids ensuring they had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and feed the reindeer. The natural surrounding is breathtaking as well. Just come prepared as the winds can get intense and weather changes quickly on the range.

To get to the reindeer is a muti step process, that is well worth the effort…read more First stop is the reindeer center itself, where you pay and can rent "Wellies" (waterproof rubber boots) for £.50. I would definitely recommend it if your only footwear is a pair of sneakers, as it can get quite muddy on the mountain. Also, would recommend wearing thick socks if you need to rent the Wellies as they are not insulated at all. After you pay, (about £32 for a family package) follow your guide in your car to a location about a mile or so from the center, where you pull over for a one mile easy hike to a fenced off area where there are about 60 or so reindeer. Once inside the gated area you have full access to the reindeer and are able to photo, pet and even feed these majestic creatures. They are surprisingly gentle and obviously used to being around humans. The guides are very nice and provide information about the reindeer, the center and the surrounding areas. Dress appropriately for all types of weather conditions for the season. Even if you are only about a mile or so from your vehicle, the weather can quickly change. This was our second visit to the center and regardless whether it was in a small or a large group of fellow hikers, we felt we had great access to the animals.
