After a couple of ropey first holes, I got into the zone and was putting those balls away quicker than Tiger Woods (of an evening...). This hole is a 59 par you say? I'll do it in 1, no problem. Okay... so maybe it didn't go all that well but I did scoop a free ticket for my next crazy golf tournament after scoring a hole in one at the bonus round. Paradise Island Adventure Golf offers a fun day out for families and people of all ages whether it's couples, big groups or small groups. There are two rounds; one's more twists and turns and the other is more hills and slopes. We went for the hills and slopes option and it was great fun. It was quite busy when we went but it all just added to the excitement and everyone was getting into the spirit by "oohing" and "aahing" at other peoples attempts at scoring a hole in one (namely mine). At a reasonable price for a round, this crazy golf is a great option if you're looking to do something a little bit different of a rainy afternoon. So yeah, I'm just going to sit by the phone now and wait for the golf offers to come rolling in. Yep, any minute now...

If I could give this place no stars I would. I actually complained about our visit here…read more Complained! I pretty much avoid all forms of confrontation if I can but after our experience I had to say something. I was annoyed that there were no staff members upstairs when we were told there would be. It wasn't really busy, but it was disorganised chaos upstairs with no staff there to disperse groups into quieter areas. Just take a punt on a course. This led to large queues and groups bigger than the maximum 4 that they say they allow. We left pretty quickly barely managing a few holes due to spending the majority of our time waiting and when I complained at the front the manager came down to challenge me on the queues (I didn't see her once the whole time we were upstairs), saying there weren't any, telling me we should have "played through" the two quicker families in front of us with our toddler and that because we played more than two holes we weren't entitled to a refund. Given that I had not once mentioned a refund I was pretty annoyed. I told her that I'd asked for an email address to complain, not a refund, and given the 12 holes per course, leaving after 2 holes and having to pay 20 quid for the privilege was not a great policy. I also told her that I didn't appreciate being called a liar and that obviously some of their queue was now down at the front desk ready to leave. She then asked for our receipts with an attitude and told us about five times that she shouldn't be giving us a refund whilst she processed one anyway. Having been a retail manager for many years previously I couldn't believe the immediate attitude we were faced with when trying to complain and the fact that even though we were given a refund we both still left the place angry at the "customer service gesture" routine. Suffice to say we won't be going back here for mini golf again. There are far better attractions here at much more reasonable prices and without an attitude problem. Next time the mini golf mood hits us we'll head over to Jurassic Parr.

What a cool way to spend an afternoon. I enjoy mini golf, I enjoy street food, I enjoy trying new…read morethings... win, win, win! I'd asked a few friends if they fancied coming to this and we ended up going to the afternoon session in a group of 6. We went to the bar to wait on everyone arriving and I loved the laid back feel of the place. There were some retro music vibes and it looked like one of those garden parties you see in American movies set in the south. Fairy lights dangled down from the ceiling, the furniture was made from repurposed wooden pallets and the room was dark and atmospheric. It set a really laid back tone for the day. We got our drinks, of which there was a small selection of Thistly Cross ciders and craft beers. I had a soft drink as we'd decided to drive to this (thanks subway closure!) and we were on our way to our first game of the day - mini golf. There was a small queue but it worked its way round pretty quickly. We started off quite tentatively, but quickly we got into it and a bit of competition (mainly with the boys) started showing through. The mini golf course was great, with some challenging holes and loads of space around each for our group to watch. We made our way round in about 20 minutes and in the end the girls all came joint (last) fourth, with the boys scooping the top 3 spots. Mini golf builds an appetite so we popped into the bar again to order some delicious food from Burger Meats Bun and Bo Kantina. I ordered the pork belly bao from Bo Kantina and the MacNuggets from Burger Meats Bun. We must have went at the busiest time because there was a fifteen-twenty minute wait for food, but given how popular the event was we didn't mind the wait and got some more drinks from the bar. Everyone loved their food. I had been dreaming about the bao since I very stupidly opted for a burger at Kelvingrove Goes Cuban and when it came out they'd changed it up a bit since then. Instead of one huge packed steamed bun I got two little ones. I'm not normally the biggest fan of pork belly (this may not be true, I think my first experience was just so bad it's really put me off) but this went a long way to change that! It was deliciously melt-in-the-mouth and packed with sriracha (heaven!) and hoisin sauces giving it a stick, sweet, spicy kick. The steamed buns themselves worked really well as two little portions as well. The MacNuggets were also amazing. Giant deep fried, breadcrumbed mac and cheese. It was as good as it sounds! After this we went for a game of boules, which I'd never played before. It was great fun. They had the rules laid out really well and we quickly got into this. Gutted to say, the ultra competitive boys won again but this was such a great end to an amazing day for us because we surprisingly thought this was one of the best things about the whole event. If we were ever going again I'd definitely go to the evening session. The laid back atmosphere and the different games combined with a really cool bar seem like a really cool way to spend a night. I love events like this because you get to break free of the norm and try something completely different. I love was Street Food Putter Club are doing and really hope I get a chance to go again!

I had so much fun at the Street Food Putter Club on Sat 23rd July…read more We went as a group and loved it! What's not to like about beer, burgers and mini golf!? I was so pleased to be reunited with a BMB - it was just as good as I remembered (maybe even better!). However, my only disappointment was that they weren't doing the thai sweet chilli fries... boo. The Bo Kantina food looked amazing too. I was rubbish at mini golf. Literally twice as bad as everyone else! But it was such good fun anyway. The most enjoyable game for me was the ping pong. It becomes really hilarious when everyone has had a drink :) I haven't been to the glue factory before and when I was driving up I was a bit worried. The exterior is dingy (and a little scary) but the inside looked amazing - with pretty string lights and bunting. It was also really warm, not cold as you would perhaps think in a warehouse setting. I'll definitely be along to another!

West End, Partick

If this place was a noise it would be a full scream in the face through a megaphone in a tunnel…read more It's kids on speed. It's play times two. It's insanity squared and multiplied by infinity.. with ice cream around it's face. Plonked in a wee unassuming patch in fair Partick, the exterior of this joint lies. It's a darn durty lie. For behind the single door lies an epic sprawling area of soft play and what feels like a land of marshall law. Kids rule here. Parents can be found covering in corners supping on quadruple espressos, rocking back and forth muttering something about the apocalypse and how nice it might be right about now. Oh please dear reader, please do not take this to be a negative review or indeed that I don't love spending time with my kids. Please just show this review to a parent and see if they begin nodding and a tear forms at the side of their eye (or both). It serves food. It has seats, it's a little rough around the edges, but that's never a complaint you'll here from a 3 year old as they whip through the place dressed as a princess on a Peppa Pig trike with chocolate stains around their mouth and devilment in their tiny little eyes.... the apocalypse could be nice right about now

This place is a tardis! You'd never know from the entrance on Gardiner Street how big it actually…read moreis inside. This was out first visit, having been to Wonder World a good few times, but choosing to come here as it opens earlier. Comparing it to somewhere like like Wonder World is always going to be a tough gig, basically this place has it's pros and cons. Pros: - serves a good cuppa and at £1 for a large mug is cheap! - wide range of toys, from ride ons to trucks to giant dance mats for kids to play with on top of the soft play area - breakfast rolls looked good (I never tried one) but all are under £2 - lots of seating (& highchairs) including a few comfy if worn couches - staff are lovely Cons: - smells a bit damp (I feel a bit blurgh just writing that but I really put me off) - areas of the soft play are really quite worn out & in need of replacing - some of the toys need cleaned or binned! - there are signs everywhere in relation to food - they don't like you bringing your own food in, totally understand this when they sell food, but show me the parents of a small child who don't carry bribery snacks?? And when your child insists on eating that exact thing are you supposed to leave? All in all this place is pretty okay for the entry fee charged. I can't help but feel it could be improved quite easily though with a bit of care and attention.
