Unfortunately, the experience with sales and the supervisor team was frustrating. I was told in writing that installation and staining would be completed in one day, only to learn after installation that staining required a separate crew and additional days. This should have been communicated upfront. My $5,220 quote was also $500 higher than a competing quote getting work done in the same week. After raising my concerns and dealing with some frustration with the supervisor team, management stepped in and made the right call by reducing the price by $300. Ultimately, the crew deserves credit for their great work, and management deserves credit for making things right. Better communication and coordination upfront would have made this a much better experience. Four stars for the quality of work and management's eventual response.

Gerald from RB Fence came to look at the job and provide an estimate. His quote was very detailed, much more so than any of the others we received, and it was the only quote to include a Split Invoice Addendum form for dividing the cost with our neighbor, enabling us each to pay separately and having the amount of each share clearly documented. (This was particularly important because we agreed on an uneven split.) RB Fence was the only quote that came this way, and it really was a selling point, because it made things easier for us. On the day the work was to be done, the crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. We were surprised by how quickly they got the old fence down and the new one up. Gerald came by partly through the job to make sure we didn't have any questions and things were on track. I appreciated that he took responsibility in that way. They completed this in roughly 8 hours. Fast forward to today and they've just replaced our rear fence (50'). This project required larger kickboards to account for a sloping grade, ivy root removal, and an unwilling neighbor. They guided me through all aspects of the project, neighbor situation, and seamlessly matched the design, height, and flow into our side fence lines. Completed in roughly 6 hours.

Also, while discussing the fence repair I brought up my busted side gate and he gave me a good price on a steel framed gate, which sounded much better than the wood framed one I had. Melvin, Eduardo, Mauricio, (and a 4th guys whose name I didn't get) did a great job. Clearly these guys are technicians and not just laborers. They measured twice (maybe 3 times) and cut once. EnviroTek exceeded my expectations in every way. A deck is a major expense and there are a lot of pieces involved -- design, materials, engineering, permits, inspections and construction. Before choosing EnviroTek, I got three bids. Some of the other proposals were extremely expensive, and it wasn't always clear who would actually be doing the work or how much would be subcontracted. EnviroTek was different from the beginning. Sammy, the proprietor, was straightforward, responsive, organized and very easy to work with. He never pressured me or tried to upsell me. His proposal was clear, his pricing was reasonable, and I always knew what I was paying for. There were no unpleasant surprises with the cost and Sammy was always upfront whenever a decision needed to be made. Sammy uses his own crew and has worked with them for years. They showed up every day, worked incredibly hard and clearly took pride in doing the job well. Even my neighbors commented on how impressed they were with them and how consistently they worked. My home is in an HOA, so I couldn't get too creative with the design and everything had to fit the existing architectural style. Even with those limitations, the finished decks and walkway came out beautifully and I am extremely happy with the result. The work was done cleanly and properly and we passed every inspection without any problems.  I was away for a good part of the construction, which could easily have made a project like this stressful, but it wasn't. Sammy kept me updated, regularly sent photos and let me know how things were progressing. I never had to chase anyone down or wonder what was going on. That is not something I take for granted with a contractor. Overall, EnviroTek went far beyond what I expected. They turned a stressful situation into a manageable and successful project.
