I've been a patient of Dr. Camp's for a few years. I started out investigating indigestion and work…read morerelated stress (too many years of all nighters at startups in the valley, eating poorly etc.) Dr. Camp was the first doctor who took a Sherlock Holmes approach to figuring out what the real problems were rather than just giving me a Tagamet and telling me cut down on my work hours. Digestive system analysis found lack of beneficial bacteria in the gut, leading to poor digestion and nutrition. With targeted nutritional supplements and dietary change my ulcer-like symptoms disappeared and even my cholesterol drastically improved. He's a great doctor to deal with in that he can handle followup consultations via Skype video conferencing if it doesn't really require a personal appearance to discuss test results. I'd strongly recommend him if you want some "out of the box" thinking on your health. Be warned however, he's not in anyone's network, but then again after the number Obamacare did on health insurance, who is ^-^

I started going to Dr. Camp's office in March of this year. I saw the Nurse Practitioner, Marya…read more and sat down for my first appointment. During my appointment, I explained all of my concerns and for the first time in a long time someone understood what I was going through and did not tell me that " you are fine" which I had heard from other doctors. Since, then I have taken tests and have had a couple of appointments and we figured out what was going on with me. I have been very impressed by her dedication and professionalism. Anytime that I would call or email with a question she was there with an instant response. I also appreciate her ability to think "outside of the box" which when you have hormonal issues, hypothyroidism, and extreme adrenal fatigue that is very important because there isn't one prescription for everyone. Currently, I am doing everything that she has advised for me to do and I am feeling better. Based on her advise, I have started to live a healthier life. She has helped me to see how important good nutrition is and she helped me to get on a regular program with my vitamins and supplements. If it wasn't for her, I would still be exhausted, experiencing major PMS symptoms, and have horrible digestion issues. I feel like I am on the right track for me and I am finally feeling healthy again. I would recommend anyone that has issues with thyroid, hormones, etc. to go to this office. I am very thankful that I made the decision to go.

Hmm. Okay. I have a pretty good opinion of the nurse practitioners in this office, so I don't want…read moremy one-star review to be reflective of the care I received from them. However, I was deeply disappointed by my visit with Dr. Nagar and don't want other women finding themselves in the same uncomfortable situation I did. First of all, Dr. Nagar was unprofessional. She was late to our appointment - which isn't a big deal - but she then proceeded to rush me through the entire process, almost ignoring everything I had to say. (Not my fault we started late!) I voiced some major concerns I had about specific medical conditions I had, but it seemed like she was constantly interrupting me and ignoring everything I had to say. Throughout all this, we weren't really talking about my *medical* concerns; Dr. Nagar wanted to gab about my appearance, my job, and my sex life - about which she made incredibly inappropriate comments. (For someone so pressed for time, I was surprised by how much she wanted to talk things that were, quite frankly, none of her business. And also not relevant to the appointment.) Example: after a few routine questions, she gave me a really hard time about my sex life and actually laughed about it for a few minutes. She then proceeded to give me unsolicited advice about what my sex life SHOULD look like, in her opinion (something you never expect to happen in the liberal city of San Francisco, yet here we are). Doctors shouldn't be talking to their patients like this - they should be focused on listening to health concerns, prescribing birth control, and testing for STD's. I am over 30 and wanted a routine pap smear done (my previous one had been abnormal). Dr. Nagar kept lecturing me about how that specific procedure was only done every 5 years. FINE. But at the very least, can we please at least address the concern I have? Unfortunately, I walked away from that appointment without any solutions. Another example: I told Dr. Nagar what I did for a living and how it affected the other medical condition I had. Dr. Nagar, again, laughed. She proceeded to chatter happily about how she would have ALSO done what I do for a living - had she decided to "become a loser" and not go to medical school. Wow. Someone on here complained about Dr. Nagar being from India. Not sure how that's relevant toward one's ability to be polite. A big part of being a doctor is just having respect for your patients. Bare minimum, keep your thoughts to yourself and just focus on having a professional demeanor. Anyway, I finally got one of the referrals I needed, but when I called the specialist to set an appointment, they told me they didn't take my insurance. "Your doctor should have known that," the lady on the phone said. "She shouldn't have referred you to us." Ugh. I now have to go through the whole process of getting another referral - which is what I saw Dr. Nagar for in the first place. I can't honestly say I got the care I needed from Dr. Nagar, and I'm not sure I would trust her with future medical concerns. It doesn't seem like she really wants to listen, and I also didn't appreciate the disrespectful comments she made toward me. For now, I guess I'll shop around and hope my conditions don't get any worse. Hooray for the American healthcare system.

After reading the lone negative review about Dr. Nagar, I feel I should provide a (rational)…read morecounter review. I have seen Dr. Nagar just once for a routine physical. I found her thorough, knowledgeable, and willing and able to answer my medical questions in an easy-to-understand manner. On a personal level, she was warm and friendly but still professional. I felt comfortable talking to her about personal concerns. The other reviewer notes that she is from India. Well, yes, she is, but she completed her residency training at the UC Davis Family and Community Medicine program and I do not think her birth country or religion is relevant. Her medical knowledge is relevant, and I felt satisfied with her qualifications and with the knowledge displayed during my visit. I received appropriate professional care and recommend Dr. Nagar.
