I took some time to process my experience and after reading similar reviews feel the need to post…read moremy own. Recently at my annual appointment I was waiting to use the restroom which faces the support staff cubicles. The wait was rather long as there is only one restroom. I had the "privilege" of overhearing how they feel about their clients. "Oh, I hate the perimenopause ones- IM FAT AND HAVE SYMPTOMS BUT I DONT WANT TO GO ON MEDICATION AND GAIN MORE WEIGHT". "THE NEWBIE GYNES ARE SO CUTE WITH THEIR STIs." I was stunned. I went to the restroom, came out, and Dr. Plawyer's nurse was waiting for me. I told her of the incident and she said "I'm sorry to hear that" and then went over my med list and medical history while I'm on the verge of tears. I finally stood up and said "I'm leaving." I did receive a voicemail apologizing and saying it was addressed. However, as a nurse for the past 10 years I understand on a deeper level that the comfort they felt talking about patients at work indicates a culture of not respecting their patients. When we go to the doc we want to feel heard, be taken seriously, and be met with empathy and assistance. I no longer believe this happens at this clinic. Find a clinic that doesn't mock their patients.

Newest revelation is that Midwest Center for Women's Healthcare is like going to a gas station…read more They are not affiliated, but rather, are all independent offices. If you call the corporate office number, if you can even find it, they can't help you because they are a different office. Midwest Center means nothing other than a common name, like going to a Shell gas station, one has nothing to do with another. Took me multiple requests, over a period of more than 3 years to get my medical records transferred to my new doctor, which were finally transferred as of this year, 2025. Good Lord. What a frickin joke. Please, please, don't waste your time there. See previous review by me if you want the full story.

We love the doctors here. They are personal, competent and get back to you if you have any…read morequestions. The reason for 4 and 5 stars is I found it surprising that they charge an extra fee for filling out the Illinois State Health Exam form that I need to enroll our daughter in elementary school after her annual visit. Maybe other practices do this as well - it was a surprise and should have been explained to us as this was not the case at our previous pediatrician.

During the annual checkup covered by our PPO insurance, Dr. Hatter refused a blood test that has been done by the practice for years and she submitted 3 bills to the insurance company: one for Teen wellness exam, one of Doctor's visit and one for Medical/professional services all for 15 minutes my daughter spent with her. When I expressed my disagreement to the office that I am unwilling to pay for the extra charges, they sent me a letter to look for a different practice. If the annual visit is not for asking the doctor's professional opinion, then what is it for? It seems that Dr Hatter is more focused on billing patients, than of their wellbeing. If you are choosing North Suburban Pediatrics do yourself a favor and avoid Dr. Kelli Hatter.
