Joking and very engaging. - Drink order taken right away and delivered within a minute or two. - Menu offered a good selection. - Nice, clean interior. A bit dated but well maintained. - Food order taken as soon as the drinks were brought. Food was brought to the table in 13 minutes. - Great location, right in downtown Klamath Falls. - Yumi gave us some great ideas for things to do in the area. - Gave us plates and silverware for the leftovers. Last night, my younger son at OIT and I were missing having food with rice (we're from Hawaii) so we decided to find a Chinese restaurant nearby. Wong's Cafe looks great so we decided to try it out. Mrs. Wong was helpful with customers and nice to talk with. Always quick with ice cold water and refill of hot tea if needed. It was a nice cozy place to dine in but I can see they're also busy with takeout. The food was delicious and I can see why they're busy with takeout. Unfortunately after wanting to try Wong's for a while once we did it was not very good. The egg foo young tasted like a frozen product and was gummy in a packaged brown gravy. The service was amazing, assuming it is a family ran business, there was only 1 server who spoke english well and took our order and explained parts of the menu for us. (Never heard of mar far chicken, apparently it's just battered chicken) very good though. The combo came with soup, pork fried rice, battered fried shrimp and mar far chicken. (Try with their table pink sauce). Also ordered the chicken lo mein and had them make it extra spicy. That was addicting. The noodles werent greasy and the spice was a subtle heat but packed with flavor. I could not stop eating. There was this older asian lady helping cleaning and refilling drinks as needed. Sweet as can be. This is your standard chinese food takeout place and by that I mean it should be the standard. It was pretty good. Overall we had leftovers and spent less than $30. They gave me three large cakes smothered in a gravy. It was delicious and a lot of food. I also ordered a bowl of egg drop soup to start. Meh. Read the reviews and went to check it out an hour before closing. All the comments about great service are misleading. My service was terrible. Took forever to take my order. Passed me by several times to get a to go box and my bill. Food was average. Very small pieces of meat in both my dishes. The Chow Mein was all onions and bean sprouts and lacked any favor. The fried rice was drowned in soy sauce and again with the tiny pieces of meat. This is not the Chinese food you think of when you go to a restaurant. It's the kind you get at a mall. read more

I ordered take out for the first time. The online ordering through the website was easy and convenient. When I picked the food they were very nice and the decor was pleasant. I loved being able to see into the kitchen. The hot and sour soup was spicy but it also had a vinegar taste similar to Frank's red hot. I liked the egg roll but my wife wasn't a fan. I forgot the name of the chicken dish we ordered but there were too many onions and peppers. The chicken was tender and tasty there just wasn't enough of it. The sauce was pretty spot on. This is a classic restaurant in downtown Klamath Falls that I remember from the 60's. The interior looks just as I remember and the food was great. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She was the only wait person working and remained cheerful and worked quickly between all tables, the kitchen and cashiering. I did not have a high expectation from Chinese restaurants in remote locations like Klamath Falls, OR, but craved Chinese food. So I picked something basic like sweet & sour pork. I ordered take out, but the pork was still crisp when I got back to my place. The rice is disproportionately small compared to typical over rice dishes. The waitress did ask me a few times to make sure I am fine with that. So that was good. The hot & sour soup was nice and spicy. It may be a bit too spicy for most people but I like spicy food. Besides, it is HOT & soup soup. I think the service of this place is superb. The waitress was super helpful and really knew how to treat guests. She noticed I was parked outside and even brought the food out to my car when it was ready. I will definitely come back for more when I am in town. read more
