Though it's a big wholesale operation, they also do retail sales here, up til 4 p.m., M-F. They have a good variety of potato varieties - you can buy 50# boxes of spuds of various sizes and descriptions (russets, yellows, reds, purples) for about $25. The tasty little finger potatoes cost $27 for a 24lb. box. There's four or five types of these. Also available are 1-1/2 lb bags of fingerlings. Exactly what they have depends on year and season. A lot of their taters are organic or close to it. And the ones I've got have all been real high-quality. Naturally they are best when newly out of the ground in the autumn. If you like potatoes and you live around here you are in luck! Or plan your trip to pass through here in the fall. The Potato Festival takes place in mid-October in nearby Merrill, and they'll have much of the crop out of the ground and into Wong's by then. read more
