We've been to this office twice and the staff is very unorganized and they book too many patients at the same time. Our first visit we waited over an hour after our scheduled appointment to be seen. Today it took 50 minutes to be called back only to be told there are still two patients ahead of us. We schedule the early appointment times, but it doesn't matter. The first visit the Dr wanted a referral done THAT DAY to Mayo Clinic. It took multiple phone calls from us and two weeks for the staff to do it. This will be our last visit here! Check in was very fast and easy, the front end staff very friendly and helped me through the registration process online. Didn't wait too long in the waiting area to be taken back to a room to see Dr Wong. The staff in the back were just as friendly and asked me all questions pertaining to my appointment and made sure all my information was ready for the Dr so the appointment would go smoothly. When Dr Wong entered the room he came in with a smile and took the time to explain all my test results and listened to all my questions, comments and concerns. Everyone in the office is very nice & welcoming ! Dr Wong is great! I was referred to him by my rheumatologist in 2020 when I tried to do keto to loose weight. The keto not only did not work with my autoimmune, but it also sent my liver enzymes and blood sugar thru the roof. Thus welcome endocrinology. The WORST experience with a doctor on so many levels! Do not recommend you go unless you want to experience the following: - Long wait times - Starting with the fact that he is booked 3-4 months out, god forbid you need to reschedule, the next opportunity will be months out. Once your appointment arrives, the average wait to actually see him is one hour. When you arrive there are always 2-3 patients in the waiting room ahead of you, after about an hour of waiting in a cold silent waiting room you are called into a patient room where you have to wait another 30-60 minutes! 2 hours is unacceptable waiting time to see a doctor, and this is the accepted norm in this office! First visit I waited 2 1/2 hours, second and last I waited 1 1/2 hours! - Rude Staff - The receptionist is salty AF. No eye contact, no welcome, no bueno! When you call you're left on hold for long periods, they always sound irritated and annoyed by any request. - Dirty, Unwelcoming, No Privacy Office - You would think that if they make their patients wait hours in a room that they'd at least try to make it pleasant- but nope. No wifi, expired magazines, no elevator music or comfy chairs, no TV, and looked pretty beat up with scuffed baseboards, walls, floors and pealing paint. The walls are also paper thin, I could clearly hear everything the doctor was discussing with the patient in the room next to mine. Not sure how that aligns with HIPAA privacy laws. - Doctor talks a lot, but isn't thorough - I've had Type 1 diabetes for decades, and seen almost a dozen different endocrinologists and every single one asked for my meter to download and evaluate my BG numbers, they also check my feet every or every other appointment. Dr. Wong, although he was polite and willing to sit and lecture you about nutrition and the biology of a particular medicine for over 30 min, never asked for my meter or checked my feet. read more

For a doctor he is at the bottom of the barrel. I saw him a long time ago and he misdiagnosed me and before he walked out he said, "yeah, spooky huh"? This led to me seeing several other doctors and much more testing and I didn't have the disease he said I had, which is was writing me up for surgery. When I told a different doctor what he said he told me to asked him if he is board certified. I called the office to ask but they would not let me speak to him, so I gave that message. Next thing I get a letter that he was canceling me as a patient: good luck with your new disease and all its resulting symptoms. As if I was going back. He needs a psych evaluation, and from what I read in the reviews, very serious malpractice, he should have his licensed revoked. One day he's going to need a doctor and you know what they say....what goes around comes around. read more

I am not one to write a bad review, but Dr. Wong is hands down the worst doctor I have EVER experienced. First of all, you have a call 1-3 months in advance JUST to get an appointment that is not convenient for your schedule at all. But you have no choice because they only offer you a few time slots and they don't always answer the phone. So after waiting two months for my appointment, I show up to wait TWO HOURS to see the doctor for less than a minute. After the FIRST hour I kindly asked the staff how much longer it was going to be since I had to go to work. It wasn't until THAT moment they told me they were running an hour behind. I asked why they didn't tell me they were running an hour behind when I checked in? No answer. I asked if anyone else is the waiting room knew they were running an hour behind? No answer. Instead the sassy front desk worker snapped at me and asked if I wanted to leave. I told her no I've already been here an hour I'm seeing the doctor today, and she just turned around to let me know the conversation was over. Absolutely appalling. Shortly after that confrontation, another man walked in for his appointment and the sassy front desk lady asked for a co-pay. He told her he wasn't paying them until he actually sees the doctor. If that isn't a red flag, I don't know what is. After finally being called back I continued to wait in the exam room for about another 30 minutes until Dr. Wong FINALLY came in. Once he came in I told him I've been waiting two hours to which he LAUGHED and "CORRECTED" me that I have only been waiting 1 hour and 45 mins. To be spoken to in such a degrading and disrespectful manor from a medical professional is absolutely unacceptable and I will not tolerate that type of behavior without saying something. I saw Dr. Wong for maybe a minute? All I got out of that two hour appointment was that my meds were too strong and that the nurse is calling in my new meds and that I would have to come back in six weeks. No explanation on what was "too strong." I never saw my lab results. No explanation on why I had to come back. In addition, I've been serverly depressed, one of the BIGGEST side effects of thyroid disease (one of the diseases Dr. Wong claims he SPECIALIZES in) so I asked to be put on anti-depressants. He informed me he doesn't prescribe those and didn't offer any alternative. That is NOT what you tell a patient who just told you they are severely depressed. Absolutely unacceptable. Needless to say I do not recommend Dr. Wong to anyone who values their time and health. I will never step foot in that office again. *Side note: immediately following that terrible experience I called different offices to find a new doctor. I called Apex medical center and they were able to get me an appointment THREE days later at a time I got to choose. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Max who happens to have a PHd in Endocronogly who was caring, considerate and focused on getting me healthy. I walked into his office at 2:30 as a new patient and left at 3:30. In ONE hour I filled out the new patient paperwork, got a full physical by Dr. Max, got a consultation by the doctor AND they did my blood work in the office. I have my follow up appointment next week. You have no excuse Dr. Wong. read more

I didn't see Dr Wong for too long but from speaking with him, he seems like a great and caring Endocrinologist with a lot of experience. He answered my questions and I felt comfortable following his direction and instruction when it came to managing my autoimmune hyperthyroidism. I did assume his political leanings from our first visit by topics he brought up, which is a little unprofessional in my opinion, but it didn't affect the patient/doctor trust factor that is so necessary when it comes to good care. His front office staff however - they managed to send blank refill prescriptions to the same pharmacy TWICE on the same day...then when I had to call them back so they could correct their error, they left me on hold for 25+ minutes. I patiently waited on hold, just like I patiently returned to and then called my pharmacy because of the mistakes made by front office staff at the westside location of Desert Endocrinology that ended up taking time out of my day off... No apologies from this front office person, actually got attitude from them instead. Another staff member was eventually able to assist me but the blank scripts, attitude, and being left on hold (seemed like it was intentional - I've worked in healthcare and know there's no excuse for that) was enough for me not to want to return to this office; it's unfortunate because I didn't have these issues when I lived in Henderson and visited the Desert Endo office on that side of town. read more

I'm absolutely shocked to see such bad reviews of Dr Wong and his office. I was referred to Dr Wong after being diagnosed with cancer and having my thyroid removed. I called to make an appointment and I was able to quickly get an appointment with him. First visit I arrived early to fill out paperwork and was taken back before it was even my appointment time. I found his staff and nurses to be very nice. At that first appointment Dr Wong sat and talked with me for over 45 minutes. He answered my questions and really took the time to make sure I understand my diagnosis, prognosis and what I should be doing to help myself. I left that appointment feeling incredibly optimistic and grateful to have found such a thorough and caring doctor. His staff made sure I had my lab slip and had called in my prescriptions to my pharmacy. In between this visit and my next I called 3 different times with questions and every time my call was promptly returned and his MA was always so caring and compassionate when answering my questions. Next visit he went over my labs and sat down for another 35+mins to see how I'm doing and answer questions. I really like that he is very thorough with his answers. He takes the time to educate and give the "why" behind his answers. I never feel rushed. He makes sure that i know what i need to be doing for my health on my end. He is incredibly knowledgeable and I've been very happy with my care. I would highly recommend his office! read more

If you ask them, they will tell you honestly how far behind he is and if you need to reschedule, they won't hassle you about it. After years of not feeling well, I'm so glad that I found Dr. Wong. I do not have insurance and his cash prices are VERY affordable. To all the people complaining that he does not run on time: This is a doctor's office and it happens. I usually wait around 30 minutes for my appointment, but when he gets to me he takes his time and explains things very well. I like that he is continually researching - that's what makes a good doctor. Someone that keeps up with current medical trends and doesn't just look at the numbers and say you are or aren't this or that. His staff is friendly and his nurse, Tasha, is a ROCKSTAR!!! When I first began to see Dr. Wong I actually liked him, until I actually had a problem. I was extremely fatigued like to the point where I felt sleepy 24/7 no matter how much sleep I got. I couldn't do anything or enjoy anything because of how tired I was all the time. I was literally crying out for help and he would tell me that everything looked fine and didn't account to how I was feeling. After I brought it up so many times and he didn't give me an answer or even help, he laughed and as he left the room to end our appt said "Go on a walk." I don't like to write reviews, but it was very unprofessional of him. We go to him to help us with our problems not to laugh and neglect us. Also, I tried to change to a new endocrinologist and it took Dr Wongs office a month and a half to send over my medical history (I called every week sometimes twice a week and all they needed was HIS SIGNATURE) and by the time it was sent, the other endocrinologist was not accepting anymore patients. read more

After switching over to this location because of the proximity to our home, my husband had his first appointment with Dr Wong for his Hashimotos. Blood work was ordered and at their appointment, Dr Wong lowered his medication because he felt it was high based on his levels. After about a week, all of the symptoms he had before returned. Lethargy, joint pain, irritability, brain fog, etc. We called Dr Wong's office to ask he be returned to his previous dosage and were told he needed to return for an additional appointment and more blood work. Really? What choice did we have at that point? Blood work was done yesterday and came back within normal levels. The receptionist, Latasha called to let us know that the medication would not be changed because he was in range. I mentioned to her that not only did the blood work results matter, but the symptoms were also important and that over the course of 4 years, we've been through this before. After going back and forth for several minutes, she said "Do you have "M.D." after your name? No? Then I'm going to go off what the doctor says because he does." After arguing with her over what it's like LIVING through the actual situation versus reading numbers off a piece of paper, I told her I wanted the blood work results faxed so we could return back to the previous doctor within the practice. After hanging up, I called the office across town and was informed we would no longer be allowed to be seen at either location and that we could come in and pick up the medical records in person. It's really unfortunate when you have people in the medical field that lack empathy for their patients. Even after asking if he could speak with Dr Wong personally to explain what was going on, I was told no because his levels were fine and the medication would not be adjusted. Fortunately enough, we were able to locate the original doctor who diagnosed him and scheduled an appointment there. (Dr. Michael Uzmann.... who, not surprisingly, has far better reviews.) I'm sure there are some people who are really happy with Dr. Wong and his staff of callous robots. Hopefully they never run into a situation where their diagnosis requires more than just reviewing test results. read more

The first time I went to see Dr. Wong I had to wait an hour and half. Then when I met him for the first time all he did was scared me regarding my thyroid and asked me if I was interested in having children when I said yes. He right away told me I would have a miscarriage. Now keep in mind he hasn't done any blood tests or physical checkup. Just assumed that I will have miscarriages. I still decided to give him a second chance and once again I had to wait for a hour before I got to see him and this time he had my blood test results. He walks into the room hands me my prescription for 3 months and says take this and let's see you in 3 months. Then he says to make an appointment and walks out. I was so confused as he never explained anything to me and looked like he didn't care to be there. The second visit I only saw him for 5 mins and he walked out. Please save your time and go see another Endo as this one is too busy or doesn't care. read more

I am very surprised that a couple of Las Vegas doctors do not accept Medicare insurance. If I could give fewer stars I would. The doctor is always late. I have had to wait 45 minute to an hour before every appointment. It doesn't matter if you arrive early or on time, you'll be waiting a long time. Doctor Wong did not seem to care about me during the appointments. He wanted to get me in and out and the next patient in the chair. I spent exorbitant time waiting for him, and he spent mere minutes with me -- maybe two minutes alone with me. All he would ever do is give you a prescription and tell you to get more blood test and come back. He never talked about what was going on or gave much time for questions. His office staff was rude and unprofessional with me. They have a lab technician who draws blood on site and he was a nightmare. Absolutely the worst blood draw I've ever had! I had an appointment and they called me less than an hour before to cancel it even though I was already driving to the appointment. That was last week. This week I walk in after driving 45 minutes to get there and they hand me a sheet full of co-pays and they basically said the doctor will decide which one you owe. They never told me anything about any of the co-pays with my insurance the co-pay should have been $50 flat. With this page they handed me I believe the minimum copay was around $130 and the more expensive copay was up to $400! Ridiculous! And I told her that nobody said anything about this sheet and she was rude and said "Well you were supposed to call your insurance." No. I'm fully aware of the cost of specialists because I have to constantly contact my insurance with all of my other doctors to make sure that everything is getting taken care of. So I was aware of the $50 copay quoted by my insurance company before I went . I was so upset that my time has been wasted I literally just walked out and told him to cancel the appointment that I wouldn't be back. You don't cancel an appointment less than an hour before when you expect 48 hours notice from the patient and then you don't even bother to tell them what their co-pay is going to be if it's different than what the insurance requires. If they try to charge me for cancelling disappointment you can bet I'm going to be reporting them to my insurance company and I'll be speaking with their billing department and their manager directly. Pissed off doesn't even begin to cover it. read more
