If you love arepas, you are going to love this place. Wonder Arepa does some of the best Venezuelan food around. I highly recommend their pollo and avocado arepa. They also have an excellent steak version as well. One of the best parts is just the giant glob of delicious cheese that is on top of each of the sandwiches. The maize (corn) that makes up the "bread" is incredible. So soft and seasoned well. If I had any complaints, it would just be that I wish they had some type of sauce or a hot sauce to go with the dish. Not that it is overly dry, but it definitely could use some liquid to make it a little more moist. a hot sauce specifically would be excellent to give a little variety and acidity to the savory dish. read more

As I always say when I write my reviews when I order to go: I can't speak on ambiance. Regarding service, they packed up our order pretty quick and it was delivered earlier than the estimated time which was nice. I got us a few things to share: TEQUEÑOS (order of 5 minis), CACHAPA DE QUESO, AREPA PELUA (FRIED/FRITA), AREPA DOMINO (GRILLED/ASADA) + sauces: CILANTRO & GARLIC/AJO Y CILANTRO, PINK SAUCE l/SALSA ROSADA, CHIPOTLE HOT SAUCE/PICANTE. Everything was delicious! We always love tequeños. I wish more restaurants served the bigger ones, but the minis are still yummy. The cachapa had the perfect sweet-salty balance. My favorite item today was the arepa pelua. We ordered it fried, so it was nice and crispy on the outside and stuffed with flavorful meat and cheese. The arepa domino was also delicious. The black beans could have had a bit more seasoning, but it still hit the spot. All 3 sauces we ordered were great. My mom, my sister, and I each picked a different favorite! Mine today was the cilantro garlic, my mom's was the chipotle hot sauce (while not actually spicy, it had great flavor), and my sister's was the pink sauce. Excellent! I found this place on Uber eats and I was not disappointed. The fried shrimp arepa was filled to the max. I added some cheese and pico to it and that help make it fantastic. I definitely think it was worth the money because there was a ton of meat/shrimp inside of it. (1/5/2024) we came for a weekday lunch. Ordering was at tablet kiosks. The dining room is small, looks like 50-50 dine-in and carry out. There's 5 or so square tables that could be adjust to accommodate different party sizes, but maybe max 14 dining in. Our party had several arepa newbs. The Monster Arepas on the menu are exactly that, bursting at the seams stuffed with meat and cheese. When they say cheese on something, they mean lots and lots of cheese. I had a fried Wonder Arepa with chicken salad, BBQ shredded pork, grilled slab of cheese, and avocado slices. It was excessive with meat, love the crisp cornmeal arepa it was stuffed into. Be forewarned, there's a significant amount of oil that drips out, keep the paper wrapper on it to rein in the unwieldiness. The tequenos are delicious better versions of a cheese stick wrapped in pastry. Ours were hot, but a little doughy, I like it fried/baked more with more browning of crust, but maybe that's just how they do it. It almost seems like there's a single person working there, she was very nice and attentive as she could be. We might have overwhelmed her with our party of 7, but they did a great job with getting the food out at soon and hot as possible. Looking forward to the catering options! read more

I went to this establishment over a year ago and it was absolutely wonderful. I decided to go for lunch because they posted a fried cheese arepa on their IG page. After driving 30+ min the lady told me they didn't have the fried cheese (bummer) but I ordered a different cheese and then ordered an appetizer of fried arepas. The lady rang me up and the total was a few cents shy from $15.00. When she brought my food out, I noticed the fried arepas were missing so I mentioned it to her and she said 'oh you wanted fried arepas, I thought you meant you wanted your arepa fried'. I replied 'oh no, the appetizer.' She said 'oh I didn't charge you for that' and I said 'the arepa by itself was $15???? Never mind!' Neither of us were mean about it. We handled it courteously but... Needless to say, that is a rip off!!!! I will not be returning because $15.00 for an arepa is absolutely outrageous especially when you can find them everywhere for $8-$10. Beware of the ridiculous arepa prices!!!! read more

I've ordered from here two times and both times have been two different experiences. The first time here, I ordered the Arepa Safrina and the Arepa de Pabellon Criollo. WOW. AMAZING. I've had arepas before, but these were over the top. They were SO DELICIOUS that I came back the next week. The 2nd time here, we ordered the Arepa Safrina again but asked for no cilantro and Arepa LLenera. For some odd reason, there was extra cilantro (my girlfriend hates it with a passion) and the steak one was just ok. I will come back for another try. Every time I go to Orlando, I find the best Latin food. This is another place to add to it. My wonder arepa was WONDERFUL. There is some food that I wait to finish the leftovers to see if I like it. This is one that I know I loved and excited to have it for a left over. The beef they use has a sweeter taste to it and the shredded chicken they use is like a chicken salad but not as heavy on the mayo. I wouldn't like it if it had too much mayo. They also have huge pieces of avocado and huge pieces of cheese(not just any cheese either. They made sure that the flavor was there. No sauce needed whatsoever. The arepa is huge. No side is needed but if you do get a side of tequenos(fried cheese cheese). My hubby ordered the beef cachapa. I always love cachapa because of their sweet corn taste and soft texture. The beef he had was good but after I tasted mine it was just ok. They have different flavored meats which is good because they have variety and you can tell the difference. It's still very good, but I favored mine more. My hubby had a passion juice. My only suggestion is to give an option to make it with milk. With water it's more sour. My papellon with limon was my preference. It's like a sweeter version of an Arnold Palmer(ice tea and lemonade). The service was great. She explained everything. She forewarned that the menu was all in Spanish. That's ok because I work with pictures. Their yelp pics are okay but their Instagram pictures are the best. I loved this place and the food was excellent. It will not measure up to anything where I live and I know that for a fact unless something new pops up. Its never fun for me to leave a bad review for a restaurant but I truly do not feel it is being represented for what it is on Yelp. This one one of the rare occasions I feel I have been led astray by reviews. I will start off by saying the food was great! It looked great and tasted great but the restaurant is NOT clean. I went to the restroom to find that the toilet seat was on the floor, there was no toilet paper, and no paper towels. I let the waiter know and we did move the toilet seat back on top of the toilet and gave me a roll of toilet paper but I still did not feel comfortable. When I got my drink which was an orange crush from their soda machine I noticed there were a few black flakes in it. After the bathroom incident I decided not to mention it to the waiter and drink water I had brought. I know from working in restaurants that this occurs when the nozzles to the drink machine are not routinely cleaned and they build up mold. Our food took a while, easily 25-30 minutes though we were the only people there except a couple waiting on a takeout order on a Friday night at 7pm. The food was really good, we had a steak arepa with grilled cheese (one of the best I have ever had), a chicken pepito, and their tres leches. However, it was very hard to enjoy given the cleanliness of the restaurant. I could only think about how unclean kitchen must be given the state of their dining room. My boyfriend even saw a bunch of flies sitting on the containers that hold their sauces up on the counters when he went to pay. It was truly not a good experience and I would never return to this restaurant which is disappointing because their food definitely has the potential to make this place great. read more
