!!! WARNING!!!!
DO NOT!!! go here!! My daughter was treated here her whole pregnancy. Was seen here by midwives and OB professionals. There was never a concern during her care here for her or the baby. My daughter has no prior health issues, healthy 31 yr old. My daughter went into labor on her own at 39 weeks, was admitted to the hospital, labor was progressing. My daughter had an epidural at around 6cm, labor still progressing but had slowed a bit. My daughter started to get right upper belly pain and was told by OB and anesthesiologist this was normal that they could be a space or area that would keep from getting numb but nothing to worry about. Labor pains were getting stronger and she was given more epidural but assured safe and still upper right quadrant area pain still present. Daughter had been in labor over 24 hrs at this point and at 8cm still upper belly pain and now having a headache that OB treated with Tylenol but still no concern. I noticed my daughter was becoming very sleepy where she couldn't hold her head up or carry conversation. I let nurses and OB know right away, still no concern from staff. OB is doing a cervical check and says she'll come back in an hour , and also had convo of c section that my daughter agreed to if there was no more progress. before she steps out my daughter starts to throw up now has a fever and complaining of worsened headache. This is when we are told baby's heart rate has been of concern for last couple of hours. We are told it's time to get her to OR for c section , we all agree I tell my daughter I'm right behind you as I'm told to wait for them to prep her. I'm waiting outside of OR maybe 15 min, I see my daughter is laying there but her eyes are closed , I call her name over and over ... no response. I ask anesthesiologists why she wasn't responsive and he says " we didn't give anything, this is how she got here" meaning no sedation was given. I was pinching her cheeks, calling out to her, rubbing her arm and nothing!!! I'm asking why she's unresponsive!! Was told by all , " she's just tired " she's been laboring " but sleepy and unresponsive are way different things. I say all this to say.... My daughter was unresponsive for 6 hours , never woke up on her own never opened her eyes, she wasn't even aware she had her baby !!! No one would listen to me, her mother!! She was in this comatose state from the OR sent to recovery where you are supposed to " recover" then was sent in this unresponsive state to postpartum, only leaving that floor wondering why she was sent there in this state!! My daughter was unresponsive for 6 hours before a Trauma Unit was called and she was given 2 doses of Narcan to open her eyes to see 20-25 specialist, OB and anesthesiologist all in her room now!! Was sent to ICU for a few nights with now sepsis, preeclampsia, kidney distress, overdose of anesthesia and can't walk because she can't feel her legs!! She wasn't able to hold, breast feed or take care of her baby for 3 nights while in ICU!! Administration, OB, anesthesiologist, no one taking accountability or any direct answers on why this occurred!! They labeled this as " unplanned" of course no mother plans to be in ICU after delivering a baby!! This was down right negligence and yes, we made all the appropriate complaints and our concerns were dismissed like this is something normal!! Medical records were altered, all staff in her care lied about very detailed items!! This is not okay!! This is so not normal and unethical!! Shame on all of staff and professionals involved in my daughters care!! All are complicit as nobody stood up and did the right ethical thing just to even say how they should've done something different. There were signs but nobody was putting attention or listening to the patient or loved ones trying to advocate for her when she was laying there unresponsive for hours!!! Unacceptable!!! On top of this very traumatic experience she had at Banner University where her OB delivers. OB's office making it hard for her FMLA / maternity request to be processed as needed!! Having a " normal" no complications delivery is hard on mothers and deserve maternity leave. So her OB office the OB DR. DUBNOW who $ucked up delivery is giving my daughter hard time for extension request!!! Really ? Wasn't traumatic enough for my daughter I guess!!!! My daughter was fighting for her life!!! My daughter will never be the same person she was before this tragic event!
This still has a great affect on our family and we ask God for healing everyday. I write this for anyone to speak up if something doesn't seem right, ask questions even if they become annoyed or angry. Advocate for yourselves and your loved ones. Be well...
