The nurses were all very nice and accommodating. Cared about my comfort. Had no problems getting IV in the first time. Anesthesia nurse also very nice. Anesthesia Dr very thorough and willing to listen to concerns. Very patient. It is a very smooth and efficient system here. Once you are brought back for the procedure, they let you know they are going to administer the anesthesia and a few seconds later, you are out. When you wake up, you are done and once in recovery and alert, your Dr. will come in and discuss the results with you. You do have to have someone with you to drive you home such as friend or family member. I felt fine upon discharge. I went out to an early dinner same day. No issues. I am over 60 if you are wondering.

Since I did the new patient paperwork on their portal website, I was told I was all set. Everything went seamless from the beginning to the end. I also want to add that I followed my practitioner APRN, Natalie Bowles from one practice to this one. Her care is excellent and she's very thorough. By the way, while I was waiting to be seen, I noticed the Medical Director of the practice, Dr Marcantel, overseeing everything to make sure things were running as they should. That made me smile and I'm glad I am part of this practice now as a patient.

It was a nerve wrecking experience for my family and I for several months. I am disappointed on how I was treated during this time by this office. I continually needed to follow up for orders, for information and unless I scheduled a in person or telehealth appointment, I couldn't expect to get any questions or concerns addressed. Even after scheduling the appointment, the doctor was late and left feeling unsupported. So basically if I wasn't billable I wasn't important. I finally got my final results in which I had to message the office, twice, about discussing and they wanted me to wait 21 days until my next scheduled appointment to discuss. I found this ridiculous. When I complained, without much empathy or compassion I was just offered to schedule a sooner appointment. While they couldn't call me to discuss my test results and answer my questions or respond to my messages in the portal without me following up, they were able to call me to ask me to send my medical scans to their office because now they off 3D mammogram scans in office. Again, your only important if you're billable to them. This isn't a doctor's office I want. Patients and their families deserve more care and consideration than what I was given. I will be looking for another doctor and strongly recommend you do the same.

I've been seeing Dr Hernandez since I first moved to Central Florida in 2011. She takes time to go over your tests and explain how the results impact your health and then provides you the necessary treatment. Something I appreciate is not having to wait too long once you've checked in. I say this because with many other medical providers you make an appointment and then you have to wait so long to be calls once you're there which makes no sense to me whatsoever. So kudos to them on this! I've also been treated by Sarah Army the PA for Dr. Hernandez when she is not available and she as well provides excellent medical attention. Although I tried seeing a new doctor because I moved from the Orlando area, I decided to come back to SW Internal because I had a hard time finding a medical provider with such high standards as Dr Hernandez and her staff. I highly recommend this medical provider!

Review of Jose Sarriera, MD - Orlando Health Cancer Institute…read more I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by my experience with Jose Sarriera, MD. I want to specifically identify the physician involved because my concerns are about my personal interaction with Dr. Sarriera and should not reflect on other physicians or staff members who were not involved. I attended an oncology appointment with someone I love who is battling multiple myeloma. I came prepared with legitimate questions about her treatment, progress, and future care. Instead of having a respectful conversation, I experienced Dr. Sarriera as dismissive, condescending, antagonistic, and lacking the compassion that I believe should be fundamental when dealing with cancer patients and their families. While I was asking questions, Dr. Sarriera became visibly irritated, threw his hands up while speaking, and communicated with me in a manner I found extremely disrespectful. I specifically asked him not to speak to me that way. What happened next was even more concerning. During this interaction, he told the patient that she could essentially receive treatment somewhere else. In my opinion, that is an unacceptable thing to say to a cancer patient in the middle of a disagreement involving questions about her medical care. Patients and their loved ones should be able to ask questions without feeling that doing so could threaten their relationship with their treatment team. When I recognized that I was becoming angry with the way I was being treated, I made the decision to remove myself from the situation and leave the room. Rather than allowing me to simply walk away, Dr. Sarriera stood up, opened the door, and made a remark about helping me leave. I experienced his behavior as sarcastic and deliberately antagonistic at a moment when I was actively trying to de-escalate the situation. What disturbed me most was the overall attitude I experienced. I walked away feeling as though questioning him was viewed as a challenge to his authority rather than a normal part of advocating for someone you love. No physician's credentials or position should place them above treating patients and their families with basic dignity and respect. Medical knowledge is obviously essential in oncology, but so are compassion, patience, humility, communication, and professionalism. Cancer patients and their families are already dealing with fear, uncertainty, and tremendous emotional stress. They deserve an environment where they can ask difficult questions, seek clarification, and advocate for themselves without being belittled, antagonized, or made to feel unwelcome. I have formally reported this interaction to management because I believe what occurred deserves to be reviewed. This review represents my personal experience and observations during my interaction with Jose Sarriera, MD. Based on that experience, I cannot recommend him.
