Without the detailed explanation, they cut my 220 V dryer wire connection to my basement, they moved the wire to upstairs. My request was to add a new receptacle, but they moved it without explanation. They are now arguing the code and asking me to pay another trip. It's ridiculous. We hired Mitch Mountney's firm Powerhouse Generators (now Oakland County Generators) to install a…read morewhole home generator for us. His company's address was listed as being in Estero, FL (we live in Naples). We've done our best to hire locally for accountability, primarily, as well as supporting local businesses. The address was of his family member, so he was not actually here to personally account for his work (*note: make sure your local contractor is local, put eyes on their storefront*). We gave him $19000 for the job (*note : NEVER give any body more than half down*) - hired subcontractors in the area, which was okay for the most part. However, for the last step of installation/activation, he hired a Generac tech (our box is a Kohler) who attempted to install an ill-fitting Generac battery into the generator, causing significant damage to the to the inner housing. THIS ACT VOIDED ANY WARRANTY TO WHICH WE WERE ENTITLED. The tech, not knowing Kohler products, failed to install plugcaps on the two small openings in the bottom rear of the generator; this allowed for palm rats to invade and chew up the bottom wiring and insulation in the box. When the tech left, he left copies of the operating manual along with an ethernet connector and the plugcaps which should've been installed. (*note: if the tech hands you "extra parts" not knowing what they're for, you might want to check - quickly). If the plugcaps had been properly installed, it may have been awhile before any other techs would've needed to open up the box to service - only then would the battery install damage would've been discovered, again, no warranty (*note: when I spoke with the tech on the phone, he said that Generacs were "easy" to service, and Kohlers weren"t - if someone is having difficulty with installation, you might want to find out why - quickly). With 0.1 hours (yes, SIX WHOLE MINUTES) on our generator that we paid an additional fee on at the "end" of the job - total cost: $26,000, it was toast... We hired our local Kohler tech to remove the old box and install a new one; the added cost is another $9000. So, some times, with the best of intent, things go wrong. MITCH MOUNTNEY HAS NOT RETURNED ANY CALLS from me, nor has his operation director Amanda Jonatzke. Read that again: NO ACCOUNTABILITY, no responsibility taken, at all. His operation no longer lists a Florida address, and apparently Powerhouse is now "Oakland County Generators", just fyi. Our Kohler tech has serviced other generators down here that customers have had issues with the quality of Mitch's supervision and integrity. If I could give this clown zero stars, I would - HE DIDN"T FINISH THE JOB.

I literally found this company from ad sent to my house in those value packs with coupons and this was the second business i called due to service call being so expensive and Hoover offered a coupon. (YES PLEASE) Let me just say - they were more worried about my plumbing then i was. Lol! I was very cautious of not saying it was an EMERGENCY because you know other business like to charge extra but initally when i called it was a leak pin hole leak on my pipes. The female on the phone (I don't remember her name) was trying to offer me a date which she had to move something around but i didn't want her to do anything extra since it wasn't bad (AT THAT TIME). We booked after a few hours, then my plumbing escalated - of course i called back and she was happy to fit me in. Please note their scheduling are just like cabling hours they'll give you a large window but they will be there!!! After getting a quote which John the technician who answered all my questions and we even joked a little due to the situation - I felt like I was made a priority. He came out on Friday and was able to get the work done on Monday - the two guys (Rhyan/Dustin) working on it was awesome. They didn't mine when i asked to take pictures because the worked looked so great and they were reporting everything especially if they needed to leave to run to the hardware store. I was happy with pricing and also they have a membership which will give you a discount along with other benefits which covers future services calls as well. Get it!!! They send you a FULL REPORT with pictures of the finish job and not just one - everything area. Will i be using them in the future?! YES and i'm a VIP member. Lol! Happy plumbing!!!

If a plumbing company ever tries to sell you a subscription, that's a sign to run in the other…read moredirection. I called multiple companies due to finding small roots in my sump pipe. Hoover said they could come out within 30 minutes and it would only be $89. They made it sound like at the very least scoping would be included with that charge, so sure why not. I was even told by an earlier technician that "the guy with the scope was coming." The guy that came not only didn't use a scope, but he barely glanced at the pipe with my root issue. He then went out to his truck to smoke and take calls for 10 minutes. Eventually I had to go out in the rain and get his attention since I was still working. I was quoted over $2000, well over $1,000 more than what any other company quoted me. Once I mentioned the other quotes, the price magically came down a few hundred. I was then given a brochure for their subscription plan. It all felt very predatory, similar to what you might experience at a car dealership. I'm sure they do decent work and they like to tout their many positive Google reviews stating as much. If you actually read through them you'll see a theme: many people despite being happy with the work think they paid too much and they're probably right. They'll get the job done, but you'll pay more than you should. If you look at their recent Yelp reviews, they are more in line with what I experienced. I had another company, Bison Plumbing, come out. They similarly have a large number of reviews, but you'll notice the theme with a lot of their reviews is "great pricing." They looked at my issue and told me snaking or jetting wouldn't do much. They said that small roots coming in from drainage tiles are inevitable and not to lose sleep over it. Finally they didn't even charge me for coming out (and didn't offer any subscriptions). One final issue was that their technician entered my house wearing Meta Rayban video recording glasses. If you're a service technician entering people's homes with those glasses, you need to at least be upfront about it. I didn't notice until the visit was over, but it was impossible to tell if he was recording the whole time. In the end, I'm glad I only lost $89 on the service call because it could have been much more. Do yourself a favor and don't settle on this company. Not every plumbing company charges a premium for good work or will try to charge you for services you don't really need. +1 star for wearing booties in my home without me needing to ask +1 star for the nice lady on the phone and Aubrey Long who was a cool dude -3 stars for all my other issues
