The Main St guys know what they're doing and the prices are fair. The shop is always busy with many cars in the lot waiting for service. They are great in person but communication isn't their strength, we typically need to stop back to learn status of a repair. Still, it's super convenient to have a repair shop in Mackinaw City.

Caleb invited me to stop by and have the vehicle looked at and test driven. A couple hours later I did just that. The man at the front desk, Joe, listened to my description of what I perceived as a potential 'issue' and we took the car for a drive up and down M-75 for 15 minutes. Joe drove and did some things one does to check if the issue could be a bad bearing or not. He noticed nothing unusual during that test or while braking. Upon arriving back at the shop he put it up on a lift to do a visual inspection of the rotors and pads. Not only did he not find anything, he pointed out to me what great condition the entire mechanism was in. He said the pads were good with at least 80% life left. Rotors were good looking, no scoring or corrosion. No charge, just good customer service. For someone like me who is new to the area I need to know service providers who are trustworthy and willing to win my business. Really made my day as brake jobs are not cheap. He invited me to stop by anytime if anything at all seems fishy. I will.

They told us that they could fix it by the end of the day and they did. They called us when it was finished and it worked like a charm. The cost was better than we were anticipating too. They're located next to an auto parts shop, so they're able to get pieces pretty quickly too. They were really nice in person and are only a few minutes outside of downtown Petoskey.
