    Smoked meat

Absolutely a must visit in Toronto! The owners are amazing and very helpful! We had a large party and they made room for us even moving some reserved seats so we could all sit together. The smoked meat sandwich is absolutely amazing!

Best sandwiches in town. Whether you like Montréal smoked meat, pastrami, corned beef or turkey, you can't beat the taste. The sandwiches are massive, great value, one of Toronto's hidden treasures. Today I enjoyed the smoked meat and turkey combo.

There are not a lot of quality old-school delis left and there are fewer still every year. So, if you have never been to a classic deli, stop whatever you are doing and go right now. Wolfie's is a classic in every sense of the word. They have been making smoked meat sandwiches for over 40 years. The restaurant feels like a Coca-Cola collectors' convention. Every inch of the dining area is adorned with Coke memorabilia. Posters, tables, flags, old merchandise, bottles, banners, you name it. The Coca-Cola theme makes it feel like the restaurant hasn't changed much since it opened, with only a flat screen TV on the wall giving away that we are not in the 1970s. Like most delis, Wolifes has a number of things on the menu but is best known for its brisket sandwiches. I ordered a smoked meat sandwich with fries, coleslaw, and a dill pickle. The sandwich was delicious. You get (what seems like) a pound of meat with house-made spicy mustard between two thin slices of soft fresh rye bread. The sandwich is fresh, flavorful and incredibly filling. The fries are exactly as you would expect them at a dinner, and the coleslaw is crunchy and fresh. The dill pickle is also very tasty if you like your pickles soft (as opposed to crunchy). The drink of choice at Wolife's is (you guessed it) Coca-Cola. There is a number of fridges full of glass bottles of Coca-Cola beverages. These are bottled in Mexico (where they use sugar cane instead of corn syrup). I'm not a big fan of coke so I didn't try it myself. But it seems like the sort of information that would matter to a great number of foodies. Overall, Wolfie's makes for a great lunch and a fun nostalgic experience.

    Fatty Corned Beef...soooooo good.

The best deli!!!! Thinly shaved, juicy, corned beef with soft 'gummy' bread and mustard. Sides of creamy potato salad perfectly seasoned, and vinaigrette coleslaw make the perfect balance. Pickles and Stuart's Cherry Cola on the side make the meal complete. I cannot wait to return.

Corned beef, coleslaw & a pickle. Keeping it simple.

I enjoy a good deli sandwich from an actual deli... Naw , Naw. Not talking about getting one from the deli counter at the supermarket or a "smoked meat sandwich" at a chain restaurant. You don't go to taco bell for Mexican... You don't go to manchu wok for Chinese... You don't go to pizza pizza for Italian... I'm talking a good corned beef or pastrami or whatever smoked meat type of sang-wich... Wolfies is the go-to spot for the simple style of deli sandwich that isn't as common as it should be in our fair city. ** Bonus points for the nostalgic Coca Cola merchandise **

    Smoked Meat on Onion Bun

Been a long time since I have been here. Took my daughter. We both had the Smoked meat on fresh onion buns. Was delicious. Staff were great!

After having it bookmarked on my list of places to eat for months, I finally made my way over to Wolfies Deli for their Smoked Meat Sandwich and it did not disappoint. Located in a small unassuming strip plaza, this place is easy to miss but after taking a bite out of their sky high meat sandwiches, never again will I pass by the area without thinking of this Jewish deli. The Corned Beef, Pastrami and Smoked Meal sandwiches are all priced at $9.96 and sandwiched between four pieces of Silverstein rye with your choice of regular, sweet or hot mustard. The difference between the meats comes down to the spices with the Corned Beef being the simplest (brined beef with no seasoning); Pastrami with a mild blend of seasoning; and the Smoked Meat brined in a mix of peppery spices. I decided to get the Smoked Meat Sandwich "special" ($12.99) which included a sandwich, coleslaw or potato salad, and pickles. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. The smoked meat was freshly sliced from brisket imported from Montreal. The flavour can only be described as meaty and juicy with a buttery soft texture. I was really impressed with the fact that even though the meat was sliced paper thin and fairly lean, I was still able to see all the juices glistening off the surface. The rye bread was soft with a chewy crust which complimented the tender meat and the mustard added a nice kick to the sandwich. Even the sides were great. The Tymek's old fashioned barrel aged dill pickles were crunchy and tart and the potato salad was creamy with a slightly sweet and tangy flavour. It is easy to see why Drake considers this unpretentious deli one of his favourite neighbourhood spots.

Great deli. Pastrami corned beef and salami mall in my basket to take home along with a jar of sour dills. Oh so good.

Better smoked meat sandwich than Schwartz in Montreal. One of the best I've had no doubt.

Terrific corned beef. A little costly but worth it. Not too much seating but there is takeout.

Comparable to Schwartz in Montreal. Get the spicy homemade mustard and try Wolfe size.

It's been around that long because the food and the prices are that good. I've stopped by here multiple times and always get the Old Fashioned Center Street Special on rye, medium (not lean) with extra meat. I've never been disappointed with this deli, the food is always delicious and tasty, the cuts of meat are fantastic, thick and juicy, and the fries are golden and crisp. It's a good deal for a good portion of food. The service is always friendly, with servers who are attentive, chatty and friendly. My only comment would be that because this Deli has been around for so long (as have I), I remember when I was little and the paint was fresh. But now it's been worn down and it's noticeable from the doorways to the chairs and tables. This staple of Thornhill is still delivering great food, but the restaurant itself needs some love and upkeep. A fresh coat of paint will go a long way. Even the washrooms (while very clean) have a smell to them. I believe it's time to give Centre Street Deli some love and freshen it up a bit for the younger generation.
