I have a 2000 500SL and when we went to put the hardtop on for the winter I was in for quite a surprise. The fabric on my hardtop dried up and was hanging off the frame having disintegrated after 20 years. The cost of repair by an upholsterer was approximately $2000 and I decided not to make the investment and asked them to dispose of the hardtop. Last week I got a phone call from Wolfgang who asked me to stop by the shop and if you look at the photo you will see why. He decided that before disposing of the hardtop he would take a shot at repairing it himself. It now looks even better than new, and for a small fraction of the price. I was so pleasantly shocked, and the craftmanship is impeccable. If you have an older Mercedes, there is no better shop in the tri state area to take your car. They are always up to the challenge, are extremely pleasant and will go the extra mile to please their customers! No reason to replace my classic as long as Wolfgang's Mercedes is around to fix it! read more

I have a 2008 M-Class SUV with a Diesel engine that I bought from a used car dealership. I had a check engine light all the time indicating a glow plug problem. The mechanics at the used car dealership changed 3 plugs at different times, but the light was still on. In addition they caused and another warning about Tele-Aid to appear. This was very annoying since I never pushed the 'SOS' button. They told me that I needed to go to the Mercedes dealership to turn off the warning. Wolfgang's found the check engine problem to be in the glow plug control unit. They also cleared all the fault codes and now no more lights or warnings appear. The car seems to run smoother also. They may cost a little bit more than your neighborhood mechanic, but I have been driving out here from Brooklyn, NY for the last two years as I haven't found anyone as honest and comprehensive as Alex and the general service at Wolfgang's. Wolfgangs! Wow what a find. Several years ago i approached Wolfgang to service my newly acwuired 300CE Sportline. He basically gave the car the once over before accepting to do work on it. That was at approx 100K. Today I can proudly say that they are the only firm that I have allowed to touch my baby...Today we just turned 420K on the clock. Thru this journey I have only been more that satisified at every opportunity. This place is a gem among sketchy, over-priced indie shops. The worked they performed on my W124 300D Euro and E420 is top notch and was done right the first time. The mechanics are honest, knowledgeable, and have a true passion for the Mercedes marque. I would bring any Mercedes - new or old - here without hesitation. It's a 45 minute drive one way for me, but it's a small sacrifice to make for this level of service. I almost for forgot to mention: Wolfgang's provides courtesy loaner W124s - yes, a W124 loaner (!) - free of charge. read more

Wolfgangs markets itself as an expert Mercedes Dealer alternative for servicing your Benz. Unfortunately their prices are about same as the dealership. They mark up the parts for hidden profit. They charge $110 an hour and is very liberal with the hours they charge. I had my GL450 serviced for brake pads and rotors. Not only did they charge me $300 for front brake pads (costs $200 at the dealer for parts) they charged 1 and half hour labor for each brakes!!!! Labor alone for brakes were $700 !!! They will mark up each and every part for at least 30%!! And charge you at least double the labor the other independent mechanics. Save your money and get estimates first. read more

I've been using Wolfgang for my last four cars. They are helpful, reasonably priced, fun to hang around and talk to and make my car experiences very pleasant. I have used the local Mercedes dealers and while I have few complaints, they love to replace anything that is broken or wearing out with new parts. Wolfgang is not afraid to suggest a rebuilt part where new is not absolutely necessary. This saves a few dollars to help pay for gas. Trust them as they will not steer you wrong. read more

We have used Wolfgang's several times over the years to service our S500, ML350, SL600 and S430. I will say that although they are considerably less expensive than the dealership, they still are pricey, and I have found better deals from other reputable shops. However, one area where I can attest to fully is the quality of their work. They are G Wagen specialists, and often restore rare Mercedes vehicles. They are also fair in their assessments, and do not push unnecessary repairs upon you. Lastly, their techs Alex and Richie are highly knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. For anyone with a rare/difficult to service Mercedes, Wolfgang's will perform high quality work that is done right the first time. read more

I have been bringing my car for service at Wolfgang's for the past 6 years, BUT NO MORE!

I brought my 1999 E300TD to Wolfgang's due to a Red SRS light illuminated on the dash. I was immediately welcomed and treated as though I had driven in a late model expensive European vehicle; I instantly got that warm and fuzzy feeling that I had picked the right shop. My car problem was explained to me in terms I understood and that computer testing was required to diagnose the cause of the SRS light. Received the call the SRS Module was defective, discussed cost of repair and found it very reasonable, I was so pleased that I asked to have other maintenance items performed and they gladly accepted my request. I was further pleasantly surprised when I got home to find that Rich had reprogrammed the windows and reinstalled some panels that I had removed. I'm definitely a customer for life. read more

Wolfgangs is the best thing I came across since I purchased my Mercedes S550. I've taken this car to the dealer numerous times for the same problem (under warranty). they were never able to fix it.. Took the car to Wolfgangs (now out of warranty) because I knew the place has been there forever (at least as long as i can remember), gave them a try and long story short, they detected this problem i've been sitting on for years and fixed it withing an hour!!!!! Pricing is very reasonable, this shop really cares about the customer and they definitely acquired my business!!
