Came in happy, left disappointed. A dental assistant wearing a dark colored smock, with white stuff…read morespattered all over the front of it, obviously from other patients before me, was the first problem. I found this highly Disgusting!
Secondly, anytime I tried to ask a question with this same person, I was abruptly interrupted half way every time I spoke. Regardless of how many attempts to finish the same question (did she just not hear me?), I was continually met with the same repetitive interruption, "you can ask Dr. Baskerville".
Not showing a bit of concern of what I had to say, or even knowing what I was going to ask, pretty much made me feel uncomfortable enough to just want to leave. At this very same time, Dr. Baskerville walked in, asked me how i was doing, and to be honest, let him know exactly how I felt, and at that very moment made the decision to leave, hoping to avoid any further conflict.
Why didn't I just overlook it all, and continue my appointment? In my mind, complaining about it only made matters worse, as the assistant was within ear shot the entire time, knowing she would be the one assisting my Dentist. Especially having had the previous experience of many times, having this same person continually jam the vacuum hose into my mouth, causing intermittent sharp pain, and deep enough to cause me to want to gag. A problem I've never had with other dental assistants. I never complained about it then, but enough is enough.
During this time, I was told, "People have their good days and bad days". This is true, and that's ok, but highly recommend, if having a bad day, stay home, and don't position yourself around people who solely rely on positive reassurance and trust while in a dental chair.
