I have to admit however that one of my main reasons for going is because they carry Ground Up flours. Ground Up is a local flour mill based in Holyoke, MA that doesn't use any kind of GMO or chemicals. This is the flour that my favorite bakery (Hungry Ghost Bread in Northampton) uses to make their delicacies. You can visually see and taste the difference in this flour. My mom who usually reacts badly to storebought gluten products has no issues whatsoever with this variety of flour. We used to think she was gluten intolerant but now we think it's probably whatever stuff they spray on wheat to keep bugs off that she's reacting too. But really, people shouldn't be consuming plants that have been sprayed by harsh chemicals or has been genetically modified which is another reason why I appreciate Dave's natural garden. People working there are really nice and help you with whatever you need.

Great experience, a little expensive IMO, but I hope the quality makes up for it. Also, we felt like we were helping the small and local businesses. For only $3, we got a dozen eggs from hens raised ethically and humanely. Tip: Call ahead to reserve your dozen for pickup, as they often run out. Owner Gordon was so very generous with his time. He let us visit the chickens, turkeys, and pigs. These pigs have the best life! I have never seen happier, cleaner, healthier pigs. Gordon and Denise also make a variety of homemade foods, such as jams and cheesecakes, available seasonally. We will stop by for those next time we are in the area!

Also known as "Hadley grass", there are many farms in the area with just as many roadside stands touting the best-tasting and freshest-picked bunches. Pipczynski Farms is one such place and its kind proprietor was gracious of her time, knowledgeable, and proud of her asparagi. She said that her regulars gave claimed to have tried all the rest of the area farms' stalks, but hers is the best. Well we won't argue- her spanking fresh stalks were tender, sweet, and delicious. Tbh I doubt you'll be disappointed with any Hadley grass you find, but certainly Pipczynski's is a great place to start!

The owners, Susan and Larry, were very welcoming and helpful with local information. Plan on lots of time to enjoy breakfast, which is a multicourse affair of fresh local fruit, homemade granola, trays of just-made bread and sweet goodies, PLUS a main course and lots of coffee and tea, and walk it off with a stroll down to the pond or among the arts & crafts shops of Shelburne Falls.

Get there as early as you can and anticipate a warm melt in your mouth goodness. Not overly sweet or cinnamony (a downside to some other town makers). The whole team at Valley View is truly amazing and Suzy and David are some of the coolest and kindest people I have ever met. Dan was our wedding planner and from the beginning was so calming and extremely buttoned up. My husband I got engaged in Dec and were married in Aug all thanks to Dan and the team! Dan was always available and made all of the planning fun and super personal to us. He truly felt like an extension of our family. Christina was with us the weeks leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day. I don't even know where to begin -her presence is so grounding and loving-I can't imagine the day without her there. She anticipated everything and was always one step ahead but also made the day fun! Again, felt like an extension of family on our wedding day. The food was also incredible. Our friends and family all said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We loved the deserts so much we took them home and froze them and ate them for a mont after until we sadly ran out. The venue is a magical place. You can feel it when you begin the drive up. We can't wait to come back and visit. It was the best day ever.
