I've been to several barbers over the years and finding a good one is tough, finding a great one is even tougher. Amelia does a fantastic job every time. She shared with me the negative review below. And it's unfortunate someone had less than a stellar experience. I don't understand how someone expects an Undercut and a Fade when they are entirely different. But let me tell you that you can't go wrong with any of the barbers at Stay Gold in Claremont. As long as I live in the area they will be my barbershop of choice. Checked their website and was able to make an appointment with Ivan within 2.5 hours. You can prepay online when doing the booking or after the cut. Got to my appointment right on time and Ivan was ready for me. Asked what I wanted, if it was my first time here and general questions. Told him what I wanted, he did warn me it was going to be pretty short, but with the heat and how often I actually go for a cut and trim, decided it was worth it. Got a haircut and beard trim. It was a pretty good cut and trim. Ivan was attentive and there weren't any cuts or bumps. He kept the conversation going here and there. Made sure I got what I wanted. Took about 40ish minutes, a bit longer than one of the spots I go to but I also got a hot towel here so that accounted for the additional time. Price was $50 which is a bit more than the franchise chains but a bit less than another independent own barbershop by my house. Very clean and roomy shop they have here with great barbers and personalities. If I was in the area and wanted a cut, I'd definitely go back.

Julio did a good job I let him know I would love to book for future appts. Fast fwd to my next cut. Made an appt with Julio on Tuesday via text. He confirmed for Friday . Day of, NO SHOW. There I am waiting for him and no text, no notice, nothing. How long would I of been sitting there if someone else didn't approach me to ask if I had an appt? Again, super unprofessional. Someone else had to take me(again) because of it. I have receipts for what I'm saying check out the photos. Clearly, this place is not respectful of your time. Stay far far away. I have had really good experiences both times as both my boys really liked it and one of my sons is autistic. I did not have any issues. I didn't even mention it to the barber and they both did very well. But, yes it is pricey $35 for a boys haircut. I usually tip five so for both my boys 80 bucks but again I've been happy with the cuts, Service has been OK. I would appreciate a little bit cleaner and friendlier environment, but we're there to get the boys haircuts not make friends.
