Checked their website and was able to make an appointment with Ivan within 2.5 hours. You can prepay online when doing the booking or after the cut. Got to my appointment right on time and Ivan was ready for me. Asked what I wanted, if it was my first time here and general questions. Told him what I wanted, he did warn me it was going to be pretty short, but with the heat and how often I actually go for a cut and trim, decided it was worth it. Got a haircut and beard trim. It was a pretty good cut and trim. Ivan was attentive and there weren't any cuts or bumps. He kept the conversation going here and there. Made sure I got what I wanted. Took about 40ish minutes, a bit longer than one of the spots I go to but I also got a hot towel here so that accounted for the additional time. Price was $50 which is a bit more than the franchise chains but a bit less than another independent own barbershop by my house. Very clean and roomy shop they have here with great barbers and personalities. If I was in the area and wanted a cut, I'd definitely go back.

I made an appt with "Vicious blends" through the booksy app. The day of, he tells me he's running late. I get it, we're all human. Waiting, waiting, my appt was at 8am. He didn't show up until after 9am. Super unprofessional. Due to him not showing up I ended up getting cut with Julio. I didn't get a sorry or anything stating the dude even cared he was that late. Julio did a good job I let him know I would love to book for future appts. Fast fwd to my next cut. Made an appt with Julio on Tuesday via text. He confirmed for Friday . Day of, NO SHOW. There I am waiting for him and no text, no notice, nothing. How long would I of been sitting there if someone else didn't approach me to ask if I had an appt? Again, super unprofessional. Someone else had to take me(again) because of it. I have receipts for what I'm saying check out the photos. Clearly, this place is not respectful of your time. Stay far far away. Please don't message me about making it right with a free haircut. Instead, talk to your barbers about professionalism.

I recently took my two boys to The Firm Studio (formerly The Spot), located at 5404 Moreno St,…read moreMontclair, CA 91763, between Cardenas and Superkids Dental. They offer discounted kids' haircuts every Tuesday, and since it was a back-to-school promotion, I expected the shop to be busy. There were around six barbers and about a dozen kids waiting at any given time. We were on the waitlist for about two hours, which I thought was reasonable considering how crowded it was. Unfortunately, once it was finally my son's turn, the experience went downhill. The barber appeared to be rushing through the haircut because of the long line. During the haircut, he accidentally cut my son's neck twice with the trimmer or blade. Both times, instead of acknowledging what happened or checking to make sure my son was okay, he insisted that it "wasn't the blade" and told my son he was overreacting. At first, I assumed my son was just uncomfortable from loose hair on his neck, but afterward he told me he had actually been cut both times. That was extremely upsetting as a parent. Accidents can happen, especially on busy days, but what bothered me most was the lack of accountability and concern after it happened. After doing some research, I learned the shop had changed its name from The Spot to The Firm Studio, and it also appears to have an entirely new staff. Most of the barbers looked very young and inexperienced, and based on our experience, that showed in the quality of the service. Another issue is the customer service. This wasn't my first visit, and every time I've walked in, there has been little to no greeting or acknowledgment from anyone in the shop. A simple "We'll be with you shortly" goes a long way, but instead it feels like customers are ignored. Professionalism and communication are just as important as the haircut itself. While $25 for a kids' haircut is an attractive price, parents should consider whether the savings are worth the risk of an inexperienced barber working on their child. I don't mind waiting for good service, but I do expect a safe haircut, professionalism, and basic customer care. Based on my experience, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this shop for children's haircuts.
