Tried this Korean-Chinese spot hidden inside a mall food court near Olympic Blvd. The sweet & sour pork was the highlight for me -- crispy outside, tender inside, and the sauce was served on the side so it stayed crunchy the whole meal. The jajangmyeon had a rich black bean flavor with chewy noodles and generous portions overall. Great place for sharing with friends or family. There's also a Korean supermarket in the same mall, which makes the whole experience feel very local and fun. Casual spot but definitely satisfying if you're craving Korean-style Chinese food in LA.

Good old plain Jajang mein. Offset the spicy tteokbukki

Since we were at the mall and a few steps away from ordering Tteokokki, we also ordered JaJangmyun, the black bean and pork noodles. These noodles were really decent and my son who's never been a fan of this dish actually liked it. The service is kinda lame. I had to ask the lady to scissor cut the noodles. They either forgot or you have to ask.

Still my favorite spot in.this food court. Portions are ginormous. Soup is rich and hearty, deep and flavorful.

The elevator has a 4-person limit and going over that will cause the elevator to become stuck and beep very loud (which is so sketchy). The permit listed on the elevator expired in 2023 as well. It's always lively and bustling with younger AND older generations of Koreans plus plenty of non-Koreans looking to explore the culture! As someone who has lived in Koreatown his whole life, this place is a pillar of Korean-American culture. By the way, cell reception is completely non-existent in many areas of the mall including H-Mart and the food court. Restrooms are on the first floor.

If they have to do maintenance, they should avoid doing so during such busy hours. + Nicole's Coffee Shop was kind enough to validate my parking without me buying anything. I decided to support their business anyway. - The food court is very limited on hydrating, healthy drinks. I had barely walked around inside the Plaza for 15min when suddenly all the lights went out. Inside H-Mart was so dark. I ran outta there. Sunlight still shown through the windows, thankfully. Everyone was confused. I rushed back to my car in the parking garage and booked it outta there. Thankfully the gatekeeper's barricade arm was staying up (so my validated parking ticket didn't matter) so I could drive off quickly before the exit became a bottleneck. Turns out West LA had a blackout... the one time I ever visit LA! Shame, cuz I wanted to walk around Koreatown Plaza a little more before heading to the next checkpoint in my itinerary.

Fish katsu (~$15): Super generous portion of perfectly fried, crispy fish. Not greasy. Comes with rice, cabbage salad with a sweet, tangy, creamy, addicting green dressing, mac salad, kakdugi (basic), corn porridge, and pickles of course. You can get 3 meals out of this plate. Seafood cream pasta: my first time trying Korean-style pasta and I'm a fan! So creamy and addicting with plenty of mussels, shrimp, scallops. I prefer Galleria Tonkatsu over Tonkatsu House at the OG ktown food court a few blocks down. Galleria's is made with more love and intention. - katsu batter is lighter, flakier, and crispier - better mac salad (not as heavyhanded with mayo and mixed with more veg) - tastier, unique salad dressing - more pickles (kakdugi, yellow radish, pepperoncini)

I saw that Koreatown Galleria had places to walk around, a market, and also a food court, so I decided to come here for lunch. One of the places I chose to eat was at Galleria Tonkatsu. The staff was fairly nice and answered questions. The food court area was quite clean and spacious, with child seats present. I ended up getting a katsu trio and also a seafood rice gratin. The katsu trio was actually hamburg steak, fish katsu, and pork katsu. The trio came with rice, cabbage with dressing, coleslaw, pickled vegetables, and a cream soup. The seafood rice gratin was baked, and also came with cream soup. The seafood rice gratin with cheese was just slightly salty for me but it was still tasty. I loved the variety of various seafood on the dish. The fish katsu was amazing. The fish was still very flaky and juicy with a crisp batter. The pork katsu was solid also. The soup was a nice side for both dishes.

I came twice before and they ran out of gimbap. It looks like they stop making them a couple of hours before closing, so if you're looking for them, I would suggest going early. When I was there, they had already stopped making the gimbap. Thankfully, they had some that were already pre-made that I was able to purchase. I bought the tuna and beef gimbap. I took them home to eat, but there is a small seating area if you wanted to eat there. They also have some other comfort food that I want to try next time. As for the gimbap, my favorite is normally tuna but I thought the beef one was better here. I also think it would have been a little better if I got a fresh one, so next time I will try to get there earlier. I am definitely going to try to come back here. Also, you can get some groceries done after getting your food, which is also a plus.

We all ordered the King-sized Tonkatsu (Wang-donkatsu). The tonkatsu here is so delicious, and I love that the portions are huge while the prices remain very reasonable. I've probably been here about 20 times over the years, but this is actually my first time leaving a review. However, I had a disappointing experience regarding their service this time. While I was in the restroom, My Mom placed our order. She asked for a few extra paper plates, and the owner (the lady there) was quite rude to her, questioning why she needed four plates. It's frustrating that she would be so stingy and unkind over something as small as a few paper plates. Also, I noticed a change in their reward. About 2-3 years ago, they used to have a loyalty stamp card where you'd get one stamp per tonkatsu, and the 13th one would be free after collecting 12. Apparently, they don't offer that program anymore.
