Very popular fast food Chinese in Carlingford Court food court. Very good Laksas and meals with rice.

Cheap, cheap, cheap! Come here if you want a cheap snack/meal. Buns are $1.50 each, so you can be…read morecomfortably full under $5, or stuff yourself for under 10. They're not amazing but I didn't mind for the price. Pork buns were apparently pretty average, had onions no ginger, and too much soy sauce. They were also cold but it was near closing so the shop had run out of a lot of choices and also why they were cold. My vegetarian buns were still warm though! And they were in a cute leaf shape. Tasted good and had a variety of veggies in there. But the one to get here is definitely the pumpkin and tofu bun. These were very nice and slightly sweet. I quite enjoyed the black sesame bun also, however as with all the buns (and probably a major reason as to why they're so cheap) the filling was very minimal and most of it was the bun itself. Also there is no seating so you can sit at one of the tables outside the centre, or just take it home to eat.

Blink and you'll miss it, this tiny shopfront is stacked floor to ceiling with buns, steamer baskets and huge sacks of flour. Don't let the WHS committee know because this is where I carb up before getting out to battle for the freshest bunch of bok choy. The menu is a simply two black and white printed sheets of A4 displayed on the countertop which lists all sorts of sweet and savoury, filled and plain bao, as well as fried bread sticks and fresh soy milk, with most things giving you change from a $2 coin. That's right folks, this is bao - hipster level food - for tuck shop money. Most people get the pork buns but be adventurous and try their black sesame bun; soft pillowy bao encasing a gloriously nutty, black as night sesame filling. If you're lucky it'll be fresh out of the steamer and ready to scald your lips and fingers. Ah that hurt tastes soooo good.
