This was a terrible meal. It was bland and taste like a frozen meal. The rice reminded me of Rice-A-Roni. My family's meals were equally terrible. The crab rangoons were not crispy and taste liked they were cooked in old grease. There were 3 peas in the fried rice. I'm glad I wasn't really hungry or I would be infuriated. read more

Since its been awhile since there has been a review here, I went, and I really don't understand such low ratings. I got quick service,freshly cooked food, reasonable price, and reasonable portions in a clean restaurant. If you know Chinese kitchen, then you will know this place. Their menus are identical and the food is the same,but there are 2 different owners. They feature the standard fare in Chinese food and I have had no issues with any of the items i have had. If you had a bad run, try it again, you may just be pleasantly surprised. read more

Worst Asian food ever!!! The sweet and sour chicken only had 3 pieces and was terribly greasy. The rice had an odd flavor and was very sticky. The sweet and sour sauce didn't taste like any other I've ever had. I would give negative stars if possible. read more

Gets a one star only cause I don't have a choice. Horrible! You get better tasting oriental food from the canned chow mein. Fried rice is not yellow or orange unless it's curry and this wasn't. Canned chicken shouldn't be used in a restaurant. We will stick to the other places in town. read more

Went in today for lunch and I hadn't been in here in years but it was very tasty! It's not a Michelin restaurant by any means but it is EXTREMELY CLEAN and service was great. Food came out fresh and hot. Not sure what else you can ask for. I got the sweet and sour chicken and the egg roll that came with the meal was fantastic. read more

EXTREMELY terrible Chinese food, with 37 health code violations. I go out to eat to enjoy my food, not wish I had stayed home and ate my own (arguably great) cooking. Avoid at all costs. It's affordable, but tastes like nothing close to edible. read more

Went here despite the terrible reviews. And we are sorry we didn't listen. Chicken lo Mein is fettuccine noodles covered in a thick red/orange flavorless sauce. About 5 pieces of chicken in all of the $7 portion. The fried rice was stale and bright yellow. Pepper steam was a vegetable soup in brown broth and again 5 piece of meat. Steamed rice was obviously old. Crab wontons were cold, and flavorless as well (couldn't even tell if it was actually cream cheese inside). I asked if they had chicken teriyaki and the gal had to ask someone in the back cuz she didn't know what it was, turns out they don't have it. So sad we wasted $20 here to throw 90% of the food away and still be looking for another meal after. Restaurant was dirty, smelled odd and had obvious health violations just in the front of house. The staff was prompt and polite and the restaurant did look clean but the food was a flat out failure. $20 for two meals consisting of entree, "fried rice", egg roll, and drink. The entree was drowned in sauce, meat was terrible consistency, fried rice was just yellow rice, and the egg roll was bland. All of it was bland with salt being the only flavor present. I don't know how this place is still open. It's not cheap enough to justify the quality of the food. I ate three bites before pushing the plate away. Very disappointed. read more

Yeh, unfortunately this was the ONLY restaurant open in the downtown area on a Sunday evening. Probably the worst Chinese food I've had to date. Not to be racist, but you can't stick a bunch of Mexicans in a Chinese restaurant and expect Chinese food. The Egg drop soup tasted like menudo, and rice all looked and tasted Mexican. We were only ones there at two o'clock in the afternoon. Large selection on the reader board menu above the cashier station. Two men working in the restaurant, and one's phone kept ringing loudly and annoyingly while we were there. We each ordered a combination dinner, which came with rice and an eggroll. There were about ten of entrees to choose from. We each had two, for less than $6. Orders got to us quickly. Looked like it must have come from a can, an dby the speed of it's arrival, I'm sure it did. Rice was yellow,and had a pea in it here and there. The 3 sorta small battered shrimp were half covered with sweet and sour sauce. My chicken chow mein, I don't recall any chicken in it. It tasted mushy, but they did sprinkle some crispy stuff on top. My friend's almond chicken was barely touched, guess it wasn't very good. I spit the eggroll out, it was horrid. The place was spotless. I like it. Of course it's not the greatest Chinese food, but it's simple, quick and perfect if you just have a sudden craving. Being in West Texas though, you can't be too picky, unless you're looking for fast-food, Mexican or BBQ. :P read more

i'm going to be completely honest here. the food wasn't great at all.... i ordered the crab wontons and they tasted fine, just there was like literally little to no filling inside them. i also got the shrimp lo mein and it was such a waste of money. im not even kidding when i say i had 4 pieces of shrimp, fettuccine noodles and a crap ton of veggies covered in this thick sauce. SO gross. i'm from CT and i don't remember lo mein being like this... our meal cost us 38$ all together... and it was NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!! please please save your money and order something else from somewhere else. read more

12/28/2010 I walked into Wok & Rice and asked for a refund. I had ordered a plate of the Hot & Spicy Shrimp that only came with 3 shrimp. I was ignored by the female employee at the counter and then she stated that I must be on drugs. Although the food is cheap, I don't see how a representative of the establishment can make such an inaccurate statement. To make matters worse, after she said that, the owner came out laughing and asked me where the shrimp were. Had I gone into the establishment and stole six dollars, they would have called the cops. So I called the police and an officer arrived. The employee explained to the officer the reason she made her statement was due to how I was acting. On top of being an inaccurate description of my actions, I do not see how she is qualified to make such a determination. I am also a veteran of the United States Army and a diabetic who received a medical discharge. I am receiving disability compensation from the military. For her to state that I was acting like I was on drugs when I don't do drugs and wasn't acting in anyway that was indicative of me being out of my mind, is wrong. I have and will file numerous complaints to make sure that the owner of Wok & Rice realizes that not only does he have to improve the quality of his food, but also hire better employees that are better representatives of his company. read more
