By far, my favorite thing was the pan fried dumpling, but that was an experience to even get. $30 for dinner isn't bad. I did not leave full because my orders kept getting lost. I ordered the pan fried dumpling 4 times before i actually received it, and it took an hour. Fortunately, it was all you can eat, so I didn't get charged for every order. I ordered additional items that never made it. Apparently, the kitchen is a free for all. The waitress said people kept taking her orders. For the meat you cook yourself, the short ribs were good. The bugolgi was OK. The jumbo shrimps were good. Someone in our group found an area with more sauces we could have used after the fact, but for what i got, they were fine. When they finally brought out my dumplings, my order was combined with someone else's. Fine, we shared. The worst part was splitting the check. Their system divided the drinks into everyone's check. But no one came to tell us what the hild up was. I only had water. After waiting 45 minutes for the check, I finally had to get up and ask for mine because I had the early flight, out of town and needed to get to bed. I paid for part of someone's beer. Super obnoxious. Fix the issues with the sales systems. Don't make people order the same food multiple times (and keeping individual orders would probably be less confusing). Overall, decent food. Uncontrolled chaos.

So that's where we are headed. Up a few blocks, we spotted the BBQ place. It's called "The PIT BBQ"; not many cars here, but it is an early dinner for us. Walked in, and it looks great inside. They have a wall painted stating that 'we were once a trailer, and now we are here', or something like that. Sounds good to me. This is the type of place where you order your food after viewing the Menu Board overhead, and the guy prepares your food right in front of you. Then you pick out your drink and pay for your tray of BBQ Goodness. Joe ordered a 1/4 pound of Fatty Brisket, 1/4 pound of chopped Brisket, 1/4 pound of Jalapeño Sausage, Potato Salad, and Coleslaw. Joe also loaded up his tray with extra Jalapeños, White Onions slivers, and BBQ Sauce. When I try a new BBQ place, I like to sample the meats. I ordered a 1/4 pound of Fatty Brisket, 1/4 pound of regular Sausage, and a Quarter-Chicken. Also, the Potato Salad. I loaded up my tray with Pickles and White Onion slivers, along with the BBQ Sauce. My Wife went with their Chopped Brisket Sandwich and a Diet Coke. Joe went with a Shiner Bock 'Rocket' Draft Beer (Rocket identifies the size of the glass). I am having a Coors Light Draft. Orders are in, and the trays are full of lots of meats. Located a table and poured their BBQ Sauce on the meats on my tray. Joe and I also had a slice of bread. My first bite was the Fatty Brisket, and it was Very Moist, Tasty, and Brisketlicious, with the perfect amount of Fatty on the 1/4 pound slice I have. The BBQ Sauce is also a hit, and one of the Best tasting one in San Angelo. We all LOVE it. Joe also said that the Fatty Brisket is very tasty. My Wife Loved her Chopped Brisket Sandwich, and also said it was the Best one she has had in San Angelo, and that BBQ Sauce goes perfectly with the sandwich. My regular Sausage is Very Tasty with lots of flavor in every bite. The outer casing is a might bit thick for me, but also goes well with the Sausage, lots of flavor throughout. Joe also thought his Chopped Brisket was Very Delicious with lots of flavor, and he Loved the Jalapeno Sausage. It has the right amount of Jalapeno without setting your mouth on fire. Now for that Quarter-Chicken. Most BBQ places, at least for me, dry out their Chicken when BBQing, but at "The PIT BBQ", it comes our Juicy, Tender and Very Tasty. Especially when you add the BBQ Sauce. This is a Big Plus for me, and "The PIT BBQ" is now my favorite BBQ place in town, and we have been to a good number of them. My Wife and Joe feel the same way. This is Way Better than the others. Their Potato Salad is also very flavorful, made with Potatoes that are actually prepared the way they should be. Joe said the coleslaw was very good. This is also a plus for me because some places have a mushy Potato Salad and flat Coleslaw. Let's just say The PIT BBQ has just about everything you need when going out for BBQ, especially if you're looking for the Best BBQ in San Angelo. The seating area inside is very large with tall tables and some great decor all around. Outside, in back, they have an all-covered Patio area with fans blowing and plenty of lights, along with their Trailer they began serving their BBQ. For those cooler months, they also have plenty of heaters throughout. When enjoying your BBQ on the patio, you are on some of the thickest outdoor artificial grass, synthetic grass, artificial turf, or synthetic turf- whatever you want to call it- it's there to give our feet some comfort. Check them out on Facebook, The Pit BBQ San Angelo - also online - On the way home, we were all stuffed because we ate it all, with no leftovers for another day. This means we will be back to try some more of their BBQLiciousness - and enjoying more Cold Draft Beer.

Their menu isn't a typical BBQ menu so it took a little bit for us to decide what we wanted. You place your order at the counter and they build you bowl or plate as you order. The boba was soggy and noticeably overcooked, which really took away from the texture. The taro coconut latte was decent, but the taro slushie was far too sweet despite requesting less sugar, so sweet that we couldn't finish it. Being one of the few boba spots in town, this place definitely fills a niche when you're craving boba. However, compared with the many excellent options in San Antonio, the quality and balance of flavors just aren't on the same level. It will satisfy the craving if you don't have many alternatives nearby, but for truly good boba, I'd look elsewhere, if you can find any around here.

They have around 6 tables available for dine-in, and 1 side table for those waiting, or who have mobile orders (I think?). I usually get their Pad Thai, Fried Dumplings, and iced coffee when I dine-in. Their Pho noodle bowl is average at best--definitely not worth the $16 they charge. Today, I called in an iced coffee and told them I'd be there in about 5 mins. They told me they won't take a drink order over the phone and that they would make it once I arrived (perhaps knowing that the ice would melt and degrade the quality of the drink--I get it). I arrived and there were 2 parties in line in front of me. Altogether, after waiting for the customers before me and putting my order in, it took about 25 minutes from the time I called them to the time the drink was ready for pick-up. One would think a pick-up drink order would be prioritized, but no, they had me wait 20 minutes for them to complete all the lunch meals that were ahead of my call-in/pick-up drink order. Effective and proper business practice would be to prioritize a simple pick-up drink order and not make the customer wait for the time it takes to cook 6 full dishes for dine-in customers. To make things even spicier, I overhear them taking food orders over the phone 15 mins into my wait time. Definitely not coming back to this establishment unless I plan to dine-in, smell spicy, and maybe order a cup of overpriced disappointment... Sorry Rice, your lack of prioritizing of pick-up service broke my heart...

Even though they warned us they were almost sold out, we took that as a good sign--and we were right.
