Unbelievable. I was a new patient at this practice. Emphasis on WAS. I have never had an experience at a doctor's office like I had at WNY Medical. It's terrible on every level. I should have realized from the fact that it's in a converted strip mall. They literally harass patients (they called me more than ten times in a month to get a routine blood test--once on the morning after Christmas! Give your employees the holidays off!). Your PA lied and said she was a medical doctor. They falsified my medical records, with advice never given and examinations that never happened. Finally, I settled my bill, was assured by the staff that I owed nothing, and now I have received another bill in the mail. What the hell. Then another. Then another. They keep billing me. Despite contacting them multiple times, and being told that I don't owe anything, they still keep sending me bills. For what, I have no idea, they don't say. This place is a nightmare. Seriously. You'd be better off anywhere else, just don't go to this medical practice. Find another doctor, these folks are awful. What a terrible experience. Ugh. read more

My provider is excellent, however dealing with the office staff is a nightmare. The call center where you are directed for refills, appointments, etc., is staffed by poor English speakers. It may just be a cultural disconnect, but they are frequently pushy and rude. After another rude call asking for my refills today, I'm looking into other options. A shame because I really like my provider, but it's a minefield to actually get seen and what I need. read more

One of the worst practices I have been to. I went there for 10 years believing I couldn't find a better place to go because my parents used them for many years. My mother's cancer went undiagnosed and she ultimately died two weeks after her diagnosis. My doctor frequently cancelled appointments and rescheduled but if I had to reschedule, she would not refill my meds. But if it was more Convenient for her, then she could fill them. If you call them, be prepared to speak Arabic because all their employees are from the Middle East, are rude and so is their staff at the broadway office. Amy Munro is unreliable and seems like she cares but in reality, she makes you have an appointment once a month for refills, will only let you have telehealth visits when it fits her schedule, never mind your schedule. If you make an appt, you get to wait 30 to 45 minutes past your appointment time. And I hope you like getting an EKG everytime you come in! It's all about the $$$$. They don't get as much money if you don't come in every time! read more

I'll start off I needed a dr and , was looking for someone else but he was at other location , so I decided to go with Dr Karimi , she is an excellent Dr still uses a notepad to write everything down ,then enters it into her computer , she's excellent, wish she was at another location ,, u can never speak to someone who speaks clear English billing or office people , one of office people who calls to leave messages etc call me tries to speak to fast and u can't understand word she says because of her bad accent , she needs to learn to slow down . It's almost like jibberish when she leaves message . I think I will be seeking new dr soon even tho I enjoy Dr Karimi that location is terrible , more complaints about office than good read more

I was in desperate need of a primary care doctor but my health insurance sucks, and no doctor wanted to accept me as a new patient because of my bad insurance. So I called the number on the back of my card, and they came across Amy Munro at the Broadway location. So I made an appointment with her for Wednesday, June 29th at 1pm, but I was told to be there at 12:30pm to fill out paperwork. I got there I filled out my forms, the nurse took my vitals, then I was taken to an exam room where I was seen by a student doctor. Amy didn't walk in the room until my appointment was over and she handed me a paper with an x-ray order. She told me it was my responsibility to find somewhere to get them done. So I made an appointment at the Great Lakes Medical Imagining in Cheektowaga for Wednesday, July 6th at 3:30pm. Then I was scheduled for a telemed appointment with Amy on Wednesday, July 13th at 8am. She called me on the 13th acting shocked like I should have come in and I told her for the millionth time that mornings are bad for me because I don't have a car and I can't get a ride in the mornings. Then she acted totally dumbfounded about my Amazon accomodation paperwork saying that she doesn't have it when she claimed she took copies of it on June 29th when I was in her office. On the 13th when she called me, my call log on my phone says 8:04am and we hung up at 8:21am. Then she informed me that my x-rays showed that I have scoliosis/curving of my thoracic spine, and spondylosis. She laughed it off like it was no big deal. Because apparently my health and pain are funny to her. She spent all of five minutes on my Amazon paperwork, she was trying to rush through it to get me off the phone. I told her that paperwork needed to be faxed to Amazon DLS immediately. She claimed that it was going to be done within that hour. However, I called Amazon a few hours after I spoke with Amy and Amazon said they never got it. So I tried calling them back on Wednesday before the office closed and they shut their phones off before 2pm because it went to straight to a voicemail box. So I stopped in there on Thursday and the nurse was sitting behind the counter, Amy was sitting in a chair with her back turned to the nurse with her face buried in her phone, only looking up every 10 seconds to see what her student doctor intern said. I told the nurse that my paperwork needs to be faxed to Amazon and she claimed she already did it and I said Amazon claims they never got it. Then she got an attitude with me and she told me she was faxing them while I was standing there. That's the biggest issue with them they lie to you, they tell you what they think you want to hear to get you off the phone. But nothing gets done unless you go to the office yourself, and you have to stand at the reception window waiting for it to get done. I also had a form that needed to be filled out for the Hartford which handles Amazon and it needed to be filled out so I could get compensation from being out of work. The nurse grabbed the paper out of my hand and she threw it in a corner behind the counter. Amy wouldn't give me the time of day, she claimed she was so busy and swamped but when I was there she was sitting there playing on her phone. Her nurse answers the office phones and checks the vitals of patients, while her student doctor examines patients while Amy lounges. Amy could have filled out that form for the Hartford within five minutes it was mostly the same questions that were on the Amazon paperwork and she could have handed it back to me so I could have mailed it in so I could start getting the benefits I qualify for. I was out of work for four weeks without a paycheck, I had a mountain of bills piling up and I was selling everything I owned trying to get caught up. I needed money for rent, utilities, my phone, groceries, transportation, and basic living expenses just like everyone else. I truly believe Amy has an issue with young tattooed people because she treated me like i'm a druggie lowlife when the only medication I take is Tylenol for my pain. Amy and her nurse treated me like i'm an inconvenience, which is not what I want in a doctor's office. Update: As of Friday, July 15th Amy dismissed me as a patient through the patient portal, I was also given my filled out Hartford paperwork back which I mailed in. Then Amy felt the need to send me a nasty certified letter in the mail releasing me which I already knew about, & then some girl from the Harlem RD Office kept calling my phone. I asked her to please stop calling me, and lose my number because i'm not Amy's patient anymore. Back on July 15th when she dismissed me I went on the UHC Website to request a new doctor. WNY Medical PC has more bad reviews than good ones, this practice sucks and I would tell anyone to stay as far away from this place as possible! read more

Its ok. Office can be very busy. Seems a little disorganized at times. Drs are competent as are the PAs, who you will probably spend most of your time with. I feel like there's a lot of staff turnover here, but could be different times of the day. But never the same person behind the desk. Parking is OK. I came across WNY medical for my immigration full physical exam with Dr. Karimi. I want to start saying that she is a great doctor and was really nice to me, but the two times I had to go I waited over an hour for her to see me. Secondly, its really hard to reach her office and talk to someone from there, if you call the number it refers you to a call center which are not helpful at all, I had an instance where my appt was canceled 20 minutes before me getting into the office, and they said the doctor will call me instead at 4:30, she called me at 7pm and they're charging me $50 for a 1 minute call saying I needed another vaccine before the doctor could sign my papers. Mind you, you pay $250 for the whole process and they're trying to tackle another $50. Super money hungry. DONT RECOMMEND. read more

I was a patient here for about 15 years. I was relatively healthy except for acne. I was prescribed an antibiotic by my dermatologist and she sent it to WNY medical for my doctors to monitor. I was on this antibiotic for 8 years. This antibiotic completely destroyed my microbiome and I developed Crohn's disease, fibromyalgia, and C Diff. Antibiotics kill good gut bacteria in your intestines which causes Intestinal Permeability and SIBO. This caused the ailments i mentioned above. I have been working with a microbiologist to get my gut health in order, but I'm constantly in and out of the hospital. I would love to sue this practice for negligence, however all of the lawyers I've spoken with are apprehensive about my case. I cannot say enough, stay far away from this practice. read more

Worst experience I have ever experienced at a doctors office. I am new to the area and wanted to schedule a physical, but had specific concerns I wanted to discuss with a physician. Due to the complexity of my symptoms, I specifically requested to be seen by a physician and not another type of provider (NP, PA). The scheduling people told me that I would definitely be seen by a doctor, specifically saying it will be an MD. When I got to the appointment, the general state of the office and professionalism of the staff should have been my first sign of what was to come, but I decided to stick it out because I had waited over 2 months for this appointment. The provider took me back and was immediately incredibly unprofessional. He didn't look at any of the paperwork I filled out and didn't ask me what my concerns were. After a while he informed me that he is an NP that has not been able to match into a physician residency so he decided to do nursing, which was not a great thing to tell someone who specifically wanted a physician so they could discuss things. Regardless, I know there are excellent NP and PA's out there and I began talking to him about what I have been experiencing, including prior tests that had been run, and what test I believe I need (I am a medical student and spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I could suggest) but also wanted to discuss with him what he thinks I need or what tests he recommends. He pretty much told me that all of it was all in my head and that I need to stop being stressed, that I have no reason to be stressed. He repeatedly kept asking me "why are you stressed" over and over, despite me never mentioning stress to him. I finally explained to him that the stress I do have is related to medical school, which is a reasonable cause for stress, but that the symptoms I have are not related and have been ongoing for a while despite me trying numerous things on my own to remedy them. When I mentioned some cardiac symptoms I had been having, he basically laughed at me and told me that he cannot give me a referral to cardiology for no reason. He said what I was experiencing was also due to stress, despite me telling him that the symptoms would occur when I was completely calm and just resting. After a while of trying to assure him that the symptoms were not related to stress, he said I could get an ECG. I was not having any symptoms at the time, so I knew it would not show anything but was agreeable because I thought it would help me get a referral to cardiology so I could talk to an expert. He took me to another room and a woman came in, told me to take my shirt off, and didn't even give me a gown. The window was open, in cold 30 degree weather, and she was pushing my bra up and exposing my chest without even giving me something to cover up with. She then told me to relax, and opened the door to leave. I was completely exposed and anybody could have walked by and seen. She could easily tell I was uncomfortable and cold, but did nothing to ease this. When I got back to the provider he basically told me that I was fine and that he could still refer me to cardiology if I wanted. He then began telling me stories about how he has been much more stressed than me, has gone through much more school than me, and that I should not be stressed. He completely disregarded all my symptoms and concerns. I didn't even bother to talk about other things I have planned to mention. Overall, there are so many other things I can say, but my advice is this, do not go to this office. I have never had such a bad experience. I honestly wanted to cry. I have never been treated like that, and have never been left to sit in a cold room without my shirt on and my chest exposed, without any attempt at modesty and patient comfort. Completely baffled this facility has any good reviews. I will never be going back and I recommend you don't either!! read more

Unfortunately I gave this establishment one star but in truth they deserve zero. They have poor customer services, poor patient care, and poor bedside manner. Anytime that I have called this place regarding an appointment or getting documents, I get people who have 1. Hung up on me 2. Put me on hold several times and don't come back 3. Transfer me to someone else. There is absolutely no reason why a patient based business isn't looking out for their patients. Not to mention, I asked for the MD who worked out of one of the locations and I was advised that they didn't have an MD at that location and all they had was physicians assistants. I spoke with a physician's assistant who was totally rude to me and blatantly refused to help me with any of my concerns and stated i would need to call someone else!! Totally and utterly deplorable. Anyone who wants to take care of themselves should absolutely go elsewhere. I wouldn't trust them to PLAY doctor let alone provide actual services. read more

Just had my first visit here, and am already on the hunt for a new PCP. Red flags: - When it came time to enter my information as a first-time patient, the front desk person allowed a new trainee to do it while she played on her cell phone, instead of watching to make sure it was entered correctly. I'm all for training new people and being normal humans at work, but come on. This is my health on the line, not a pants purchase at the Gap. - A patient who hadn't visited in a while asked the front desk person for help in identifying the doctor he and his infant son had seen last time, describing what she looked like and about how long ago she'd been working there. The staff person told him coldly, "I don't know what you're talking about." No hint that she would be willing to help him find the answer. - The first examining room I entered had dry leaves on the floor, as if it hadn't been vacuumed in days. - My doctor looked over my mental health screening form and joked, "Ah, good. You're just normal crazy, not cuckoo crazy." Ha ha, but does this mean that I had shown more serious signs of depression, I would have been considered cuckoo crazy? - The nurse who came later to help the doctor kept interrupting both the doctor and I as we were discussing my health history, and at one point yawned loudly and said, "Oh, man. I think I'm done for the day. Aren't you?" Right in front of me. Needless to say, I was not looking forward to having her come near me with a needle after that. Overall, an uncomfortable experience that I have no wish to repeat. There aren't too many doctor's offices taking new patients right now, making it hard to switch, but there have to be better choices than this for people in the WNY area. read more

Just switched from WNY Medical after 4 1/2 years as a patient. Support staff were almost always rude, never accepting responsibility for mistakes (they once blamed me when someone was entering my insurance info incorrectly, insisting I didn't have insurance, and kept calling me in the hours before my appointment to insist that she was going to cancel it because I wasn't insured.) A) I was insured, and my info hadn't changed since my last visit. When someone helped her enter it, I miraculously appeared in the system. B) Don't they treat cash patients anyway? Or do those poor people get this kind of treatment? C) Getting machine gun style aggressive phone calls when you're laying in bed doing all you can to not toss your cookies is pretty unpleasant. I'm sick, people, please don't yell at me for not answering my phone at 8:30 AM. Amherst office is dirty and dingy, turnaround times on things like referrals is pretty dismal, and they just don't listen. When my ear felt full (but I had no sign of an ear infection), they wanted to send me for an MRI to check for a brain tumor. I declined this and said I would go to an ENT instead. A week later, they called me to say that my referral to the MRI was approved and I could come pick it up. I had already been to see the ENT and began physical therapy for jaw and neck issues, which started helping my ear. I think the physicians/PA's there were OK-ish, although we had frequent miscommunications. It was much better when the practice was owned by Dr. Benjamin. The new ownership has been pretty much downhill, and I took my health to Buffalo Medical Group. read more

I have been coming to WNY Medical for 10yrs and have been seeing Dr. Amy Munro. She is an asset to this medical group. She is very efficient, kind, knowledgeable, caring and always takes her time to answer any questions. I once had to see another P.A, Brenda Kelly a few times and WOW, never again!! Not only does she smell bad but anything I have wrong with me is considered allergies, which I don't have and she tries to treat things naturally. Several times I've had to come back to see Dr. Munro because I wasn't better and she treated me with the right med's. The Broadway office is just AMAZING and love the new make over of the office which was so out dated before. I can't say enough about their staff!! Lynn, Tracey and Angela are GREAT!! They make you feel comfortable and are there to answer any questions. It's nice to see how wonderful they all get along and I LOVE the fact they they have pictures of them doing things together after hours, what a great bunch of people. Their answering service is absolutely ridiculous to say the least. They can't speak English and they don't understand a thing you say to them. I have complained several times and I have many family members and friend's that come to this office and they complain about the people that answer their phones and we don't understand why after all of these years they STILL have these people answering the phones. read more

He always takes down my number to have the nurse call back or the doctor call back but never actually does his part and I kept having to call back with the same issue. Well I made my first appointment there and when I showed up 10 min early they turned me away said the md was super busy and I should have been there 30 min early. 1 no one ever said to arrive 30 min early. 2 they said to try and get there 15 min early if I could. 3 never have I ever been turned away from a medical practice for being a little late- especially never for being early. Then when I tried to reschedule they didn't even have anything for another 2 weeks when I needed to get in asap. Not worth my time and I hope no one else bothers going there. read more

My loved one was a patient of WNY medical at the Derby office. He wasn't feeling well in Mid January. He made an appointment and was first diagnosed with depression, not feeling any better, he went back a week or so later and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics. Still not feeling well - he went back again and was diagnosed with an inner infection and given meds. He was getting sicker and he called the office for 4 days straight and left messages with the answering service - never getting a return call from anyone. When he finally reached someone - he demanded that they do blood work! Has he not demanded they do blood work - I wonder if they ever would of requested it. My loved one went for blood work on a Wednesday and was in Roswell Park Cancer Institute by Thursday late afternoon. He had AML - leukemia. He was in bad shape. This was a man that wasn't ever sick and when he went to his primary several times within a month - they should of sent him for blood work - yet he had to demand it. Pure and simple neglect on their part. I wouldn't recommend these so called "doctors " to anyone. They office staff is incompetent also. We requested paperwork for his Disablity from the doctors office. Again We called and left several messages - no response - no call back - nothing !! We made two trips out to the Derby to try to get these medical records necessary for his Disablity. We filled out the necessary medical release forms that the office staff gave us . We called the number given to us by the office staff to speak with the person concerning the disability paperwork. Once again we left several messages - no response, no return calls. Fortunately on our second trip to Derby - there was a young office girl Who was very helpful - she was able to get medical information that was requested my loved one employer for his Disablity faxed within an hour ! Why couldn't anybody else do this ! She may be the only competent one in that whole place. I'm felt compelled to write this today because about 5:00 today - we received a call from WNY medical asking about what Disablity information we needed! It's been more than a month since this was requested from them. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with their office and service we received - he hung up on us !! Terrible customer service - terrible medical service. I couldn't even give one star - they didn't even deserve that. Don't put the health of your loved ones in the care or WNY Medical! After spending two weeks trying to schedule an appointment, unsuccessfully trying to get them to call me back, and giving them my information no fewer than three times, I finally jumped through all of the hoops to make an appointment. Upon arriving she looked at my prescription from the doctor and informed me they "don't do that here". Of course this means they never called on the referral or checked anything leading up to this. Very frustrating. Find somewhere else. They are not organized to provide any level of health care. read more

My wife and I have moved/retired to the area and we consider ourselves fortunate to have found a good close by doctors office. We go to the location on Broadway in Depew and we are more than happy with the short trip. The office is located in an older building which is also fine - its whats about inside anyway. Its clean. Our wait times are under 15 minutes. We have been seeing PA Brenda Leaird Kelly and she has been great to deal with and has an excellent personality that also fits us. The staff there have been pleasant and at times engaging with funny talk and we have NEVER had a problem getting an appointment when needed. I personally have not had medical coverage after my lay off in 2009- could not afford it - but we are now on BC/BSWNY and when searching for a Dr office that took this coverage it was not that easy and frustrating ( we were shocked at the Drs we contacted who said "come in and we will see if we want to add you as a patient " attitude! But we lucked out and found WNYMed and after many appointments we are comfortable and confident with where we now are for our personal healthcare. read more

I followed a PA from another practice to WNY Medical last year. My family has had good experiences with the NP but the office staffing and nurses from the Amherst office are brutal. Reminder calls are left by a woman with a thick Indian accent and can barely be understood. Calls and messages left for the nurses go for days unanswered and then it takes a week to get the promised script in the mail. Their whole system and office staffing needs a major overhaul! The staff needs to be schooled in how to do their job properly, POLITELY and in a timely manner. If it wasnt for the PA I have been seeing for over ten years I would NOT recommend this practice to my worst enemy! ~~Making a complaint about the staff gets you nowhere either! **Have been trying to contact my NP and cannot get through to her office after numerous calls to the main number. Was transferred to wrong office the first attempt and then it has been busy since...... ****STEER CLEAR OF ANY WNY MEDICAL OFFICE if you want quality service!! read more

Just try to make a phone call and get an actual human being to talk to you! First you go through several minutes of selections and prompts to leave voicemail without a single human voice, then they tell you that the office is closed even though the hours in their first message indicate that it's open. Then you finally do leave a voicemail once, twice, three times and no one calls you back anyway. I just don't understand why anyone goes here. This group has a PA that my parents like, but I've never yet gotten a return phone call after 6 requests, nor once spoken to a human except for the heavily foreign accented call service who comes on after 10 rings and tells you the office is closed. In dire need of a rehab admissions document for my dementia patient father, I even drove to the open Derby office in person and not only did I not get it, but after a real live staff member promising to me that she would fax it to an admitting facility for my dad within a half an hour, she closed the office a few minutes early and never faxed it. So there he sat at home, packed up and ready to transfer to rehab, and was forced to wait another day. So much for promises. Maybe the doctors are good, I don't know and I don't care, because ASAP we are transferring to another medical group that has actual human interaction and does as they promise. read more
