My only complaint, which will hurt the business in the long term, and prompted me to give 3 stars instead of 4, is the anti-conservative merchandise sold at the front desk. This is a well run business, and clearly the owner puts in a lot of effort every day, thus they are deserving of an A-OK rating.

I must admit that I always check out the gift shops wherever i go, especially touristy and historic places and Salem fits in both categories. There's some unique stuff in here that you just don't see everywhere like books on witchcraft, witch balls (I'll explain LOL), prayer candles, pentagrams, wiccan jewelry, etc. Okay Witch Balls have been very popular since the 18th century. Hanging those decorative glass balls in a window or on the porch is thought to tantalize mischievous spirits which may be threatening a home's tranquility. I stopped in to get a gift for a relative who is sick in the ICU. The 8 staff members clearly suspected me of being about to steal something?? I had a tiny crossbody bag and no baggy clothes on, I thought I looked fairly presentable? But clearly the manager had talked to the other staff over walkie talkies because I was being followed everywhere. Then every time I browsed by the doors suddenly the staff would appear between me and the doors. At one point towards the end of the experience before I checked out there were 2 staff members not so subtly blocking the exit. Like maybe move your more expensive items to the back if shoplifting has been such an issue for you? Not what I needed when I was already worrying about family. I agree with other commenters saying the staff are cold and unfriendly and coincidentally I have also had a mobile/pickup order cancelled in the past with the site saying the item was "no longer available".
