This Con was a blast. Great lineup of guest. Reasonably priced. I will definitely be waiting for this event to return.

Classic video games like Pac-Man that kind of stuff. There are tons of pinball machines which you have to pay to play. Most of them are one token but there's one special one that's five tokens. One token=$1. There's also a bunch of outside patio games that you can play. We actually came because they were playing bingo, which is also free to play and it was really fun. Started at 7:00 and had actual prizes that you could win. We got a gift card for five dollars that you could use for food or drinks. The french fries at this arcade/bar. We're actually some of the best I've had in a long time you can tell they're definitely fresh cut and cooked when they order them. I had the chipotle burger, and it was really good and one of my party had the mushroom Swiss burger and loved it and we also got the nachos. It's a little bit more expensive than a casual sit down, but the atmosphere was fun. Wheelchair accessibility: everything was really open and there was a nice long steady ramp up to the front door. There was a zero rise entry and the bathroom was pretty good. The soap was a little bit high. There is no seating that is not barstool height in the front where the bingo was and so that would be difficult, but there is some seating on the patio that's accessible. The games are all old-school cabinet style games and so it would be a little bit high for someone in a traditional wheelchair.

Originally the city's printing hub in the early 1900s, it transformed into a popular entertainment alley in the 1940s, providing a "grittier", more intimate alternative to Broadway's honky-tonks. Our experience here included an evening of drinks and music at Alley Taps, and just enjoying a few walks up and down the street. We had already learned some of the history here from our Joyride tour, which added nicely to our exposure.

In the second chapter that dates from the 1940s to the time of this writing, it is a nightclub and bar destination. In contrast to the nearby Broadway-Honkeytonk Highway, it is far smaller. It is two blocks long bounded by Commerce Street to the south, 4th Avenue to the west, Union Street to the North, and 3rd Avenue to the east. For purposes of this review, I am rating it from the perspective of walking in it during the late morning. When I experienced Printer's Alley it was part of a walk through Downtown Nashville. In the late morning it was quiet. I walked it a couple of times. From the northernmost point at Union Street to the southernmost point at Commerce Street it was a 0.21 mile walk that took six minutes. Unlike the nearby Honky Tonk Highway, it was very laid back and had an off the beaten path to it although it is a block from Broadway. I was impressed with the cleaniness of the alleyway. The historic buildings were free of graffiti and vandalism. That created a better perception of safety. Along the way there were a few signs that told the Printer's Alley story. One of them says, "Probation ends here." I noticed that the largest concentration of nightclubs and other businesses were just north of Church Street. The string lights called attention to these businesses. From my time in historic Printer's Alley, I saw that it was bookended by two modern buildings: UBS Center to the north and the At&T Building-the Tallest Building in Tennessee to the south. I cannot help but note that if the AT&T Building weren't there that possibly Printer's Alley could connect to Broadway. From a daytime perspective I give Printer's Alley Three Stars. In the daytime it is an interesting place to walk through as a part of a Downtown Nashville hike.

I've lived in the Nashville area for a little over a decade now and every time I think I've seen a…read moreshow at every venue in town, I'm reminded of ones that have slipped me. The Bluebird Cafe was perhaps the biggest blind spot in my adventures as a concert goer. Thankfully for me, a can't miss opportunity arose and I was able to get tickets for it. I'm a HUGE Drive By Truckers fan and I've seen the band a dozen+ times live across the country. I've seen co-founder Patterson Hood solo a few times, but never Mike Cooley (the other co-founder) as he's simply never played live in a city I was living in or close to on a solo tour...until now. So when I saw he was doing 2 back to back shows at the Bluebird, a venue I had yet to experience, it seemed sort of kismet. I logged on when tickets went on sale and bought a great seat instantly for a very reasonable price. When I arrived, it was a bit early so I parked in the back gravel lot which was completely empty. There are Reddit scammers urging you to use Parkit and other apps to find a spot when you go to the Bluebird, but at least on this visit (a Thursday night for a sold out show) there was plenty of parking in the free gravel lot and in the lot for the adjacent bank which allows parking post 4:30...plus across the street in the Hillsboro neighborhood. If you have to Uber, there's a massive free lot at Green Hills mall 2 minutes away. Entry was easy, service was friendly. It's a cozy, warm environment. Food was good-- I ordered a "Bluebird basket" of chicken tenders and fries. I had a couple of beers and a whiskey on the rocks (Bulleit). They have a solid bar menu, some good beers (but none on tap), wine, and a few cocktail options. All reasonably priced. The show was fantastic. I love that they enforce a no-talking during the show and no late entry policy. Acoustics are fantastic. Service is friendly. Bathrooms are even clean, lol. It's a Nashville institution for a reason. See a show here.

They have started doing a little better about having outlet options, but mainly at those tall, long skinny tables. The other semi complaint I have is that they close early. 3 pm is early when you want to try and work. Drinks are good. I don't drink a ton of coffee these days, but what I've had there was good. I get either their chai or matcha. Both of those I enjoy! I had a sandwich there recently. I wanted to roll my eyes at the price truthfully. However, when it came.. WOAH. It was GIANT. I was thoroughly impressed. It was really really good. I had to take half of it home and put it in the fridge. When I came back home hours later... it was STILL GOOD. The bread was not soggy either! That's HUGE! Ok so overall, I highly recommend this place and it's one of my go to spots.

The restaurant wasn't even full, yet we weren't seated until 11:55. The first hostess looked completely lost, and the second hostess was a guy who appeared to be one untied shoelace away from becoming the brunch special. Once seated, things somehow accelerated directly into slow motion. We sat down at 11:55 and didn't actually get food until 1:15. At one point, the manager finally came over after another customer had already unloaded on him... and then proceeded to leave all of our empty bottles and plates from the first round of drinks sitting on the table like decorative centerpieces. By the time the food arrived, we genuinely weren't sure if we were celebrating our 17th anniversary or waiting for the 18th. The crazy part? The food was actually really good. Which almost makes the experience more confusing. Like watching a Michelin chef run a restaurant inside a DMV.
