I stumbled across the Witch's Brew Cafe on Yelp - so I knew I had to visit at some point. Stopped in on a weekday morning for some caffeine. Ordered a large cold brew with a splash of Half n' Half. Drink was strong, cold, and delicious! Got the ole neurons firing! Cool ambiance. There is not a lot of space - but there are a few chairs and a couple of small couches to hang out. I wanted to work on my laptop for awhile - but they have zero tables to sit at and place your laptop on a table. They offer free WiFi. I note that they periodically host Dungeons & Dragons sessions on Sunday evenings (see their Facebook page for more information and to sign up/register). I thought that was pretty cool. We started off with just a little trip to Locust Grove to try the much anticipated "Witch's Brew Cafe". We arrived at Witch's Brew 30 minutes before closing. I ordered an XL iced sugar free caramel latte. My husband ordered an XL frozen "tuxedo" (white chocolate and dark chocolate), and he added strawberry. We also ordered a cherry cream cheese danish to go. My husband thought that his frozen tuxedo was "okay". I thought the same about my SF iced Caramel latte. Honestly it tasted almost exactly like an iced coffee from McDonalds, which I enjoy, but it didn't taste "special" if that makes sense? I'm still trying to find a coffee shop that leaves the "wow" factor. For the 2 coffees and the danish, it was $23, which I thought was on the higher end. Service however was excellent, and the coffeehouse itself, was eccentric and delightful. My husband and I heated up and split the danish when we got home. It was very flaky and very good! The café itself is quite a distance from my house, but if in the area, I would be willing to stop in again, and give another flavor of coffee a try. New favorite coffee place alert. I've been driving past this place for the last few months since moving to the local area and finally stepped inside. Ambiance: think vintage gothic meets modern day cafe, but with a charming apothecary vibe. I'm obsessed with the main counter and the mismatched seating, rich in color against the grey colored walls. Service: phenomenal. Every single staff member was so friendly, welcoming, and pleasant. You might notice a sign that says "if you're hungry, and don't have money, we will feed you. Just let us know." They have a food pantry and bags available for free. I LOVE small businesses that give back to the local community so I will go out of my way to support WBC over a Starbucks or Dunkin' any day. Coffee: I tried the dirty lavender (sugar free) chai latte with almond milk. It didn't need any sugar, but it hit that sweet spot. For those who have never ordered a dirty chai latte, try it! The coffee shop continues to be our favorite local to get our delicious coffee. The staff is very friendly and I ordered the iced peppermint mocha with sugar free chocolate, it is delicious. The whipped topping they put on top is made by them and not of a can. My wife loves the mango smoothie. The inside is decorated with antique furniture which you can set on. They have a small food bank in here as well to feed people in need. This is a local business which supports the community. A great combination to help people and drink great coffee. read more

My visit to the Witch's Brew was AMAZING! I'd come more often if I was local. I got the cinnamon delight latte with oatmilk and my fiancee got the fruity pebbles bar. The latte was great & she enjoyed the bar. I usually like it a little less sweet than they make it, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I can't even begin to tell you how perfect the atmosphere was inside and out of the store. They have such cozy lounge areas, books to read and swap, & a nice donation area for those who can't afford food. I ordered my usual; a cortado. There was nothing spectacular about the cortado. But there is one thing that stood out. The hospitality of the folks serving the coffee. They were friendly and engaging. I left there feeling welcomed. I would definitely return. Besides the friendly atmosphere, the shop has some very beautiful vintage furniture in the seating area. Walking out their door, I saw the most spectacular sign and I immediately understood why I felt so welcomed in the shop. They truly care about their community. I went here for the paint night. They had free lemonade, water, croissants, muffins, etc. The croissants are to die for. During paint night we painted firefly jars and the staff were very helpful. The couches were very comfortable. Something I loved was the mini library and food pantry! read more

Wow. What an experience. My wife and I stopped in on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised! Barrista made a suggestion to make my Apple Pie Latte with oatmilk. It was probably the best coffee drink I have had in ages. Had to fight from drinking it all at once. The chocolate iced cupcake (size of a cereal bowl) was delicious and so decadent. What a great place, great atmosphere, super friendly staff, and love that they have an area set up for people needing food to come in and get some with no judgement and open arms. Witch's Brew is the best coffee house we've ever been to! Not only do they have a phenomenal menu and coffee selection, but their friendliness and customer service is top notch! I shared with the barista that I had my German Shepherd in the car and they encouraged me to bring her in. Went here but really can't provide much of a way - the time or two I went, they couldn't make what I wanted because they were out of everything... then got a bit impatient with me b/c I couldn't decide what else to get - yet everything I asked for they told me they didn't have... I did get spinach and feta croissant and it was yummy... as for ambiance, it is really neat little place. It's quite dark though... maybe a good thing though so first thing in the morning you aren't assaulted with bright lights... The people put up with stumbling bumbling orders, the latte is scrumptious (especially the real whipped cream on top...mmm), the danishes are fantastic--the only problem is that it is 13 miles from where I live. That being said I'd rather spend my money at a privately owned place that treats their employees right. It's totally worth the usually short wait time and while a bit pricey, def priced fairly. On Halloween day my hubby and I were visiting nearby Miller Market. We went to trusty Yelp to find a breakfast place. So we visited Witch's Brew on Halloween!! Too funny. I have never seen so many types of coffee/lattes and teas. The flavors were amazing. I decided on a dark chocolate salted caramel latte... OH MY GOODNESS!!!! The hubby ordered some sort of toasted hazelnut... (I was too focused on mine to know what he ordered). I ordered a vanilla scone for us to share, an omelette with side of potatoes and a breakfast sandwich. All were very good. This is the cutest place...very small, but cute. I come here when I visit my parents in Orange. Living in Richmond, I have a lot of options for coffee. However, none of them really compare to Witch's Brew. I look forward to visiting this shop whenever I can. They have so many choices, it would be hard to not find something you like.
