Soo close to 5 stars!!!…read more I've / we've been coming to this park for years upon years. It's across from a really nice neighborhood and a great shopping center (Tori's, Coppolla's, Shoprite, CardSmart, GNC, etc). I have such fond memories :) Pre-children, I'd come here and walk around for exercise. I'd sometimes drag my mom or best friend. Post kids, I'd pack the 'shrimps' in their double stroller and walk around. As they got older, they'd swing and play on the playground equipment (and never want to leave!). The park is very pleasant overall - there is an extensive playgound set, a huge field (softball, playing catch, frisbee, etc.), a few picnic tables, two basketball courts and a large gazebo. I've rented out the gazebo at least twice for birthday parties. It's $30 for Glo Twp residents and IDK for non-residents. You have to provide and decorate everything. (When we had parties, I'd always bring a radio and chalk too). Everyone always enjoyed when we celebrated here! What I really appreciate is that you are across from a video survellienced police station plus Mister Softee and Blue Bunny make their rounds in the spring and summer! (only negatives - stinky port-o-potties and it's sometimes hard to see your children through the closely spaced equipment bars)

The half mile "walking trail" which many people run is cool with small inclines for the additional burn. There are charging stations and a good amount of shade. My children love this park because of the 3 separate playgrounds for all ages. There is plenty of seating for parents and a large field for random play. The two basketball courts are decent. I find parking can be difficult at times but mostly it's good. The police station and court house are right next door.

It's a large wooden structure playground with little forts, slides and all manner of fun stuff for kids of all ages to discover. It's even more fun than it looks in the photos I posted (methinks at least). The structure is really large & adults can can follow their kids most places on it if so desired. There are just a few spots where a young child could really take a tumble to the ground below, but that's the hazards of childhood. I kept a sharp eye on kid #1 until pretty recently. He loves this playground the best out of our small rotation though. There are also swings, a balance beam thing, slides and a sandbox. Picnic tables are around for parents & there's a small pavilion area I've seen co-opted for birthday parties. I don't think they do reservations like at Chestnut Branch park in Mantua. There's a much larger pavilion there, but the playground itself is not nearly as nice. The location is off of Crown Point Road past the library & police station if coming from Delaware St. Take the first right AFTER the light at police. There is a small sign. Follow the winding road back to the Little League field. Ample parking and a bathroom that is usually open are available. Sometimes the baseball snack bar will be open during season. We even caught a game once on a whim. Well, part of an inning! 3 year olds are notoriously fickle.

The playground is suitable for all ages with toddler swings/harnesses on one side of the playground and teen/adult swings on the other side. There are 2 different setups right next to each other. One is for older children and the other is for the younger children. The younger setup is arranged like a ship. There are 2 slides attached and some activities. The 2nd setup has multiple slides with multiple levels. The only way to get up to level 3 is by ladder, but the 2 slides on that level are pretty fun. I would say the playground is more for ages 3+, but fun can still be had by all. There are fields all around for football, soccer, or any other sport you can think of. Parking for the playground is limited with about 15 spots, but you can park on the grass all around the playground.

The play area for older children has a very high slide and smaller slides for younger kids. There are swings for older children and bucket swings for the littles. The whole area has rubber tire below, so falls are not near as bad. There is a small rock climbing wall, ropes, and a good variety of things to do. The only time you want to avoid the park is on really hot days midday. The playground isn't at all shaded, so it can get very hot. There is also a pavilion area right next to the playground that is nice for having lunch. There are bathrooms there as well. In the summer, the ice cream truck is almost always there, so either bring cash or prep your kids that you won't be getting ice cream. haha! There are also fields all around the playground where you can walk the path, pull kids in a wagon, or ride on a bike as my kids like to do.

This playground park is very clean and I would recommend it to anyone. The only downside is Parking comes at a premium as the park does not have a parking lot and it is in a residential area. Living in Central Jersey, we decided to visit the playground after our trip to the Cherry Hill Mall down in the Southern New Jersey region. Firstly, Fort Medford is unique in style and variety of playground equipment, notably in the wooden castle/fort-like structure that serves as the focal piece of the overall playground. This structure provides several towers/turrets that reach about 7-9 feet high that is accessible through the built in steps. These towers are then mostly connected via wooden walkways or other playground obstacles that bridge the gap between the different towers, which then range from rope to bars that challenges the navigator's balance and dexterity (level of difficulty varies and may not be suitable for toddlers). There are also a variety of slides built in with this structure along with different swing sets available throughout. However, younger children can play in a more modern playground set that is a part of the overall playground area. The area and size of the playground is vast relative to other playgrounds that we have been to, and is comparable in size to the Regatta Playground (by Turtle Back Zoo) in North Jersey. This modern playground set is arguably a little less intimidating when it comes to the height for children and offer similar playground amenities (slides/obstacles). For adult consideration purposes, there is a brick-and-mortar restroom facility as well as a covered pavilion which can be used as a shaded/resting area with tables. Overall, this is a great playground for families to take their children to enjoy.
