So really this is a review of the Wiseburn Child Development Center (I think that's what WCDC stands for, I just put "WCDC" on the checks!). Anyhow, here we go: 1. WCDC has been a godsend for us. We were at normal daycare before our daughter entered Kindergarten at Cabrillo and were paying well over a grand a month. WCDC is about half what we were paying at the previous pre-school. 2. The teachers are awesome. They love the kids and my daughter loves them. She comes home most days with her homework already done and a big smile on her face. 3. As part of the school campus I would rate the facilities as "good." That's really the only reason I didn't go 5 stars. I'm admitting on this one that I'm being picky. So I would recommend sending your kid here, but I don't think I'm contradicting Stacy because so much has changed since her experience.

I do NOT recommend the Rainbow River program at Cabrillo or Juan De Anza Elementary school. The President of the Board, CFO, and Director are all in positions of authority and power which they abuse!! Certain families receive preferential treatment over other families. This is not an environment conducive to diversity and learning! This environment does not prepare children for school. The school district itself (Wiseburn) is fine but if you need before and after school care DO NOT attend Rainbow River!

Over the past two years we have watched him grow, learn, and gain so much confidence thanks to the amazing teachers. Also, all the teachers in Room 3 are incredibly kind, patient, and truly care about the children. They create such a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where kids can learn and thrive. The admin team and the other teachers are also so sweet and welcoming. Everyone at the school has always been supportive and caring. As parents, it means everything to know our child is loved and supported every day. We are so grateful for everything they have done, and we will always recommend this school to other families.

He's also been pinned down and hit by other children. He's come home crying, missed a lot of school and woke up crying from having nightmares because of the bully. They started out as friends and then the bully began to get physical. It continued to escalate over time even after my wife spoke to the teachers who had no idea what was going on in the first place. My child kept getting hit and bullied so my wife asked the teachers to separate the kids. Then, our son got punched in the face. We were so patient and so understanding. My wife was a die hard supporter of our sons teachers in room 1. We trusted these people, this school, with the safety of our son. My wife reached out for help/answers multiple times, but they assured her everything was under control. However, they NEVER told the other kid's family and then lied to them when my wife had to contact one of the parents. They did not keep our son safe and he did not feel safe. They robbed the other family the ability to help their child navigate through any developmental needs by keeping this a secret. The owner and staff admitted guilt, wrongdoing and they apologized to us for concealing the matter from the bully's family - the history and the severity of the situation - that spanned six months. They waited until the end of the year to say that the bully was leaving the school - that was their solution to our little guy getting bullied and hurt for so long. The teachers in room 1 promised us that they would tell the bully's parents the truth but that never happened. We told them we'd finish the school year (last two weeks) and then remove him indefinitely. They apologized and said they were sad to see us leave the school but they understood we had to save our child. They apologized for not acting sooner. It could've been so simple, but it was too little too late. After my son got punched in the face on Monday, two weeks before school ends, more violence ensued on Tuesday. He got a bloody nose some how on Wednesday and, after our parent-teacher conference earlier that day, the teachers were distant to him. He cried and refused to go to school the rest of the week. He didn't understand why his teachers told him to go "bye bye" as we had not explained how he would be uprooted from his regular routine. The teachers and the room mom deleted my wife from the classroom app out of nowhere. That signified that regardless of the apologies and admission to being complicit in violence against our son - we were no longer welcome. My wife wrote a yelp review and the head of PTA threatened her and my 4 year old saying that he will be blocked entry into any other school in the area. She threatened our family saying will be blacklisted from the community and face legal action as well as other consequences. This grown woman, the head of BCM PTA, threatened my son and bullied my wife after our son has already suffered so much physically, emotionally and mentally. There has been an outpour of moms reaching out to my wife. Some genuine and some pretending to care while sharing their horror stories of Room 1 violence yet avoiding to be seen with our family in public. This school BCM, the teachers in room 1 and the head of PTA are an embarrassment to the private montessori education system. Don't punish my wife for protecting our child. Don't punish my 4 year old child for wanting to be friends with his classmates even if they bully and beat him.

Parents--especially parents of children with autism or other special needs--please pay attention to…read morereviews when you see them. If something does not feel right, do not ignore that feeling. I wish I had taken the previous reviews more seriously before enrolling my child at Eucalyptus School. I came across another parent's review describing her experience with her autistic child, and after what my own family experienced, I can say that so much of what she described mirrors what happened to us--and unfortunately, my experience went even further. I advocated continuously for my child because I believed his safety, education, and disability-related needs were not being properly addressed. What disturbed me most was what happened once I began asking more questions and requesting answers in writing. Communication changed. Emails went unanswered, and instead of responding to my concerns through email, I was repeatedly encouraged to communicate by phone or in person. As a parent dealing with serious concerns involving my child, I wanted written communication and a clear paper trail. Eventually, I made the decision to remove my child from this school. What I discovered afterward was even more upsetting. Despite the conversations I had been having regarding assessments and services for my child, when I attempted to move forward elsewhere, I was unable to locate the documentation, completed assessments, or records I expected to exist so that another school or district could simply continue the process. Instead, I learned that my child could potentially have to begin parts of this process again. There were also multiple occasions when I was told things regarding my child that, based on what I personally observed or subsequently learned, did not match what I understood had actually occurred. That destroyed my confidence in the school. I want to be very clear: I am not writing this review simply because I am upset with a school. I documented my experience. I have retained emails, photographs, videos, and other information related to what occurred. I believe parents have a responsibility to speak up when something involving their child's safety, education, or disability services does not seem right. I am now pursuing appropriate legal remedies to obtain answers regarding what occurred with my child. I will allow that process to determine responsibility and the appropriate outcome. But this is bigger than my child. I am speaking because another autistic child will walk through those doors after mine. Another parent may find themselves asking the same questions, sending unanswered emails, trying to understand what is happening with their child's education and services, and wondering whether they are the only one experiencing it. You are not the only one. Parents of children with disabilities have to support one another, document what happens, ask questions, request answers in writing, and continue advocating when something does not seem right. If someone else's child were experiencing what mine experienced, I would hope another parent would speak up for them too. That is why I am speaking up now--not only for my child, but for the children who come after him. Parents, please pay attention. Document everything. Ask questions. And when you see multiple families describing similar experiences, do not automatically dismiss those concerns.

If you value your child's education, I would warn you to NOT send your child to this school. I have…read morean autistic, severely delayed son who is on an IEP and is supposed to be in special classroom setting however they placed him in a general education class. The TA and teacher allow my son to do whatever he wants with no supervision. I was constantly getting phone calls that he was getting hurt at school. They do not call me anymore because of the amount of times I have complained to the principal. I have even went to the actual school district office to raise hell for my son and nothing was done. Whatever you hear about this school is true. They place so many students with a teacher that they cannot adequately supervise their own students. I believe since the school is in a lower income area, they do not want to provide (or don't have) resources. I was so weary on even sending my son to this crap school and my suspicions were correct!!! They do not care about your child's education and are just there for a paycheck which is really sad. Thankfully I am moving to a way better area with a way better school district and my son will get the help he actually needs.
