Our experience during the 2024-2025 school year demonstrated a pattern of administrative negligence, unaddressed bullying, arbitrary academic practices, and critical failures in emergency communication. 1. Critical Failures in Emergency Communication & Campus Safety The administration's handling of security threats poses an alarming safety risk to students. In an incident during the 2024-2025 school year involving a threat to shoot up the school, both law enforcement and school officials were made aware of the situation on a Friday. Despite having the entire weekend to assess and communicate with families, the school sent zero notification to parents before school opened on Monday morning. By 8:00 AM on Monday--with students already arriving for an 8:30 AM start, police officers were on campus while the administration remained completely uncommunicative. Parents only learned of the threat through social media and word of mouth as the situation escalated. The school did not issue a basic communication until well after 8:15AM, after children were already on site. Leaving parents in the dark during an active security concern is an unacceptable compromise of student safety. 2. Arbitrary Grading & Lack of Teacher Accountability Academic integrity and transparency are severely lacking. During the 2024-2025 school year, a teacher retroactively altered four of my child's grades downward months after the coursework was completed, without providing any quantitative evidence, rubrics, or documentation--simply stating she felt the grades should be different. When this blatant breach of policy was formally reported to the administration, the district took no corrective action. Disturbingly, this teacher remains employed and actively teaching at Wiseburn Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year, establishing a precedent where arbitrary grading without accountability is treated as acceptable practice. 3. Severe, Unaddressed Bullying & Student Support Failures My child experienced persistent, severe bullying throughout his time at Wiseburn Middle School. Despite repeated formal reports, administration failed to intervene, investigate, or provide support for his learning needs. The psychological toll of this hostile, unsupportive environment severely damaged my child's mental health and social-emotional well-being. Summary: A school must prioritize physical safety, emotional well-being, and basic academic fairness. Wiseburn Middle School failed on all three fronts during the 2024-2025 school year, and with the same staff remaining in place for the 2025-2026 school year, little has changed. I would never re-enroll a child here, and I strongly encourage parents to look elsewhere for an environment that truly values student safety and integrity.

So really this is a review of the Wiseburn Child Development Center (I think that's what WCDC stands for, I just put "WCDC" on the checks!). Anyhow, here we go: 1. WCDC has been a godsend for us. We were at normal daycare before our daughter entered Kindergarten at Cabrillo and were paying well over a grand a month. WCDC is about half what we were paying at the previous pre-school. 2. The teachers are awesome. They love the kids and my daughter loves them. She comes home most days with her homework already done and a big smile on her face. 3. As part of the school campus I would rate the facilities as "good." That's really the only reason I didn't go 5 stars. I'm admitting on this one that I'm being picky. So I would recommend sending your kid here, but I don't think I'm contradicting Stacy because so much has changed since her experience.

The President of the Board, CFO, and Director are all in positions of authority and power which they abuse!! Certain families receive preferential treatment over other families. This is not an environment conducive to diversity and learning! This environment does not prepare children for school. The school district itself (Wiseburn) is fine but if you need before and after school care DO NOT attend Rainbow River!
