You are taught very minimal things and are expected to preform services you barely know on real clients. Some of the services I wasn't even taught by an instructor and was still expected to preform them on clients. Another student signed her contract days before mine and somehow I was the only one in the class that ended up paying THOUSANDS more for the same education. When I confronted the school about it they questioned on how I even knew that in the first place and made up lots of excuses on how their policies just happened to change in those couple days. This school will suck every penny they can out of you, they make up hidden fees in your contract so that you end up owing the school a lot more money then just tuition when you've completed the course. READ THE CONTRACT VERY CAREFULLY. They are constantly changing their "policies" and the rules are different for each class. The class before me had a cheaper tuition and the class after me paid a lot more and they didn't even receive a kit like all the previous classes did. Me and multiple other students have reported them to the BBB because of how poorly and unfairly the administration treats their students. The reason they have such good reviews is because they hound the current and previous students to leave them a good rating. If this review can stop just one person going to school here I will sleep easy at night.

My experience was very intimidating and intense. I was so happy or find that everyone at Gleason was so welcoming. My daughter has gone to the 3 and 4 year old classes. They do a great job of incorporating gymnastics fundamentals in a fun way. What may seem like a fun activity to them might be preparing them for vaulting or to dismount off the bars. I even took some adult tumbling classes. They were accommodating to all skill levels. Plus they made sure each level was appropriately challenged without feeling like they were holding anyone back. Registration and payments are made easy with an online portal and I love that they have ample parking.

This is not conducive to learning for the other pitfall, the overstimulation and inability to accommodate children with special needs. Trying to learn to swim in a loud, busy and crowded pool is daunting. No dig at the staff, they are doing the best they can given the circumstances presented. Usually, we do 1 lesson per week for 10-12 weeks, but due to the weird summer (covid), we got in on 2 lessons per week for 4 weeks. Today, the teacher was very engaging with the kids, worked with what they did well, and worked on what they needed help with. The teacher to student ratio was good. (the most students per teacher is 4). These are things we really like about this school. Covid info: All staff are wearing plastic face shields, and all non swimmers are required to wear masks. Hand sanitizer is available and used upon entering the building. Chairs (around pool area) are in groups of 2 and spaced 6ft apart, they are also sanitized after they have been sat in. After the lesson is over, we leave out of a side door, and walk around the building to the parking lot.

The management and coaching is lacking and misleading. We have a daughter that has been in the same…read moreprogram for 6 quarters and were told after 5 quarters of the same program they would have an additional coach in the water with her to make sure she was progressing to the next level, which they never followed through with. We were also told by management that she would be progressing to the next level and then a different coach indicated the opposite. The management and coaching staff give misleading and false information to get your money and don't progress the students or teach them appropriately. They don't follow through with their commitments and then won't re-imburse you for giving false and misleading information.

Philosophically arts education is beyond just learning how to paint or draw etc. It is primarily about how to think creatively which nets life long benefits. The classroom was pure art class where you could see evidence of years of creativity in the tables. Overall I highly recommend checking Articulture out. They do programming for adults, kids, camps, groups etc.

The changing room, stalls and bathrooms are very clean. The instructors are great, we have had 2 different instructors and both have done well to get our kids swimming and participating in class. I have heard midweek evenings are very busy, but we go very early on weekend mornings and find that to be busy, but in no way is it overwhelming.
