He went a month without pooping and eventually had to have him put to sleep. Whatever he did it wasn't the same thing my vet up north did because Junebug always did very good with the procedure. Dr Dotson was very nice and worked with me on payments for the procedure but it didn't work out in the end like it did with my other vet for some reason. It just could've been Junebugs time he had mega colon hip dysplasia he was missing two vertebrates at the base of his tail so he had to hop like a rabbit when he walked or ran. When we arrived we were checking in at the front desk. The receptionist was not kind. She had an attitude even tho my sister in law and I were very very nice and patient. A nurse came over to take a look at the wound on Gracie, she took not even 2 seconds to look at it and told us there was really nothing they could do. You can see my dogs fat on the inside without even having to really look. Then, we proceeded to wait for an eternity, (and yes I do understand that there are other patients, however a priority system would be extremely effective). They were seeing animals who had minor issues, like getting lab work done or shots, meanwhile my dog has an actual open hole in her chest that NEEDS to be stitched up or stapled or something. There is no possible way that we can leave this wound open without there being potential for an infection that could kill my dog. And lastly, my SIL went in to see if there was any bottled water and a water bowl she could purchase because our dog is thirsty, and the receptionist completely and blatantly ignore her. I've always heard really good things about this place, and have read multiple reviews about how good they are with everyone's animals, but I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the treatment that we received today. I'm also going to attach a picture of what her wound looks like. We are currently in a room, but now it's another waiting game on how long it's going to take to be seen. We are going on hour 3.

They told me if I could trap him to just give him a call and bring them on in anytime so I did. I will say that I had help from a worker for the ASPCA, Rebecca was her name. But I trapped him took him down there they somehow sedated him and checked him out. Luckily no teeth issues it was an ulcer on his tongue. They treated that cleaned his ears done all the things that you would do for a wild animal. I did have him fixed. Hopefully he'll get a lot friendly or now. But I want you to know their prices was really reasonable and I cannot believe how they helped me how friendly they were I was just so impressed with their level of service. I would recommend them for any animal you have in any stage of life. That's a term I learned not long ago stage of life. Our15 year old fur baby, Rudy, recently spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital before losing his battle with lung cancer. Dr. Lilly was his Vet and when we realized he was sick 6 months ago, she referred us to UT Vet Hospital. It was there we found out he had cancer. Dr Lilly provided medical his care very carefully when we returned from UT. When Dr Lilly was not available and on her days off, we were able to use Dr Hart to help with his care. Dr Lilly and Dr Hart are compassionate about their work and are diligent in providing the best medical care possible. The weekend before Rudy passed away I called Dr Lilly at home at 7:00 on a Sunday morning. I explained to her what was going on with Rudy and she told me to go the the Emergency Vet at the airport. When we arrived at the Emergency Hospital, the staff was waiting on us. Dr Lilly had called ahead and given the Dr on call a brief history of Rudy's health and the treatment he required. My husband and I will continue to use Mountain Empire to provide medical care for our two puppies and four cats. I have recommended Mountain Empire Animal Hospital to our friends and family. We have family members from Erwin and Kingsport that now use Mountain Empire Animal Hospital for their fur babies. I would highly recommend this facility and their Vets for the care of their pets.

Meredith thought Macy should get a chest X-ray with a sedative. Macy was the sweetest and most cooperative...the sedative was not necessaRY-Meredith gave Macy too much of the sedative (she did not secure her airway either) and she suffocated and never recovered and passed away. She was basically overdosed. I will never get over this pain that Meredith caused us, and will tell everyone and anyone about this terrible and preventable death of our sweet Macy. She had become suddenly ill and, after a week of no luck with the last place, I was worried. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Dr. S was attentive, genuinely listened to my input and observations, and talked openly with me about my options.
