Crafted during the grand Victoria era, the interior and exterior boast arches, hand carved details, marble staircases and floors, walnut and oak woodwork and a 261 seat Victorian inspired theater. The craft of the building is breathtaking! Most recently, the former basement used primarily for storage has been converted into a beautiful bar called The Spirit Room. The idea came about during the 2020 pandemic when shows were at a stop for over 500 days. Flash forward to today and the new space boasts warm green tones in the lounge chairs and almost resembles Mancini's (for those who are native to Saint Paul, MN). I have yet to personally sit and enjoy a cocktail and small bite but this is now my second visit to the space and I appreciate what has been done. Additionally, I had the privilege to attend the 2025 Holiday Artisan Market where each vendor was scattered across the building including on stage and on the top level. The arrangement of this market was lovely as it got me more exposed to the theater where I could really appreciate the beauty. I wish the Mable Tainter great success in years to come! What a legacy thus far. Thank you!!

The winery/distillery is nestled into a scenic area, right next to the Chippewa River. Behind the building is a large area with the stage, with the vineyard behind that. There are different areas for tasting wine, ordering cocktails, or buying snacks and merchandise. The entire space is well-designed. We ordered a few cocktails and grabbed a table under the pergola-covered area. There weren't that many other people there (it was a very warm 90°F day), so we had lots of space. My Lavender Collins was very good, and everyone else enjoyed their refreshments. While we listened to the band, we munched on the caramel corn that we purchased inside. If we hadn't already had lunch, we would have tried the pizza. Maybe next time. Would definitely come back again for a drink and a concert.

BUT Food is very overpriced! Appetizers are very MEH! main course, $32 for a hanger steak and potatoes. You don't get an actual streak! You get 4-5 thin slices of meat on a MOUNTAIN of potatoes. Absolute rip off that will leave you hungry unless you feel like stuffing yourself with 30 mini potatoes. Dessert was lava cake and carrot cake. Both are not worth it. Carrot cake was overly sweet and exploding with nuts. Lava cake portion is very small and served in this enormous bathtub like trough that make ls it hard to share. Also not worth the 20-25 minutes it takes to get. I would return here though because of the good drinks, service and atmosphere. I would just get a burger next time and hope that it's decent.
