Danielle Dunham and WINTRUST were great at handling the beginning and ending phases of the Mortgage process. The only reason I am not giving an Excellent rating is due to the middle stages. There were many times people involved were not sure what was going on, and were unable to get ahold of Danielle via phone calls. In the beginning process Danielle told me we would be working with her every step of the way (Unlike Other Lenders), and that I would just need to reach out to her with any questions. However, when I had questions and would call and leave a voicemail, she would not return the calls. I either had to send an email and wait until she got back, or call her assistant. While this may not seem like a huge deal to some, the issue was in the fact she said we would only need to work with her to avoid us getting confused on who to talk to when. This being said the day of closing was handled exceptionally well and we did not run into any snags in the closing process! This surprised both myself, as well as the Attorney. This in my eyes did redeem them quite a bit from the middle portion of the process. My Advice to Danielle for area to improve would be to ensure all voicemails received were provided call backs within 48 hours. Since one week I called left a VM on Monday, then again on Wednesday, and then again on Friday(No VM this call), but on Friday I sent an email and she responded to that. Additionally, my recommendation to anyone working with Danielle would be whenever you leave a voicemail, send an email as well. It may be more work then you should be expected to do, but my save a headache later if she read the wrong appraisal saying nothing needed corrected, but you actually did need stuff fixed like she did with mine. (Luckily my Realtor caught and corrected these issues!) read more

I worked with Dana and his team and with absolute honesty... THEY WERE INCREDIBLE! Walking into this whole "home buying" situation seemed far fetched for me. I was a first time home buyer, a noobie out of my comfort zone, didn't know who to talk to or who to trust... I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing and apparently I knew NOTHING ("Jon Snow" reference). Dana REALLY broke it down for me and mapped out HOW the process works. That information took a lot off of my shoulders so on day 1, I felt more informed and prepared. Fast forward to later - When we had our offer accepted, Wintrust (and my amazing realtor) handled literally EVERYTHING. Aside from showing up at inspections and signing documents, I feel like I barely lifted a finger... Seriously! In a world where you constantly hear "Oh man, buying a house is SO rough, it's SO hard, it's the worst process EVER!" How and WHY was it so simple for me? Did I just get lucky? Was it right place at the right time? I think the answer is simple... Dana and his team took ALL of the heavy lifting out of the equation. PS. I want to note, that my amazing realtor Sabine recommended Wintrust.. She said "If we go with them, it will be a SUPER easy process". I took her advice and I'm VERY glad I did! read more

We purchased our home in May 2018, and we financed through Mike C. and his team. We could not be happier with every aspect of the process. Financing a house requires getting the lender voluminous quantities of information and documents, about the buyers and the prospective house, in a timely manner, for the best chance of approval and the best rates. Mike C. and his team were very patient with us, let us know exactly what they needed, and moved extremely quickly for us! Also, quite honestly, Mike and team listened so thoroughly when my wife and I spoke with him about us and our deal, that I often felt he was more awake and in touch with our wishes, key times and cutoffs, etc., than my wife and I were - during what was a fast-moving and sometimes chaotic time! Mike got us a fantastic rate, and terms, based on our financials, and worked with us to understand our needs. Bottom line, Mike and his team helped us get the house we love. If I ever buy again, I will certainly be working through WinTrust and Mike. Mike and team have my 100% recommendation! read more

Jason is one of those people who have things done in a timely manner. Although I've never met him in petson, I could tell he's passionate about helping people to get what they ask for. I was introduced to the whole team, who worked on my loan via email. It was so easy; I work in the healthcare with limited access to petsonal emails and personal phone calls, and I never felt I had to take day or two off from work to get through the loan process. The team from Wintrust helped me with everything. The videos I watched helped me to understand how the process worked, every document I needed to sign was explained in the plain language. On the day of Closing I was able to work in the morning, so I wouldn't loose a day of work. Great job! I would definitely recommend Jason and his team for anyone who is interested in buying the house; they work with you from the beginning to the end! read more

Craig Schauer and the Wintrust Mortgage team were fantastic to work with. I first connected with Craig on the Saturday afternoon of Easter weekend. Despite having family events ongoing Craig worked with my wife and I to get everything together to allow us to make an offer on our dream home. From that point forward Craig was always on top of things to ensure everything was on track. He communicated with us whenever he needed something from us, and kept us apprised of exactly where things stood from the financing side of things. Despite incurring an unexpected family tragedy during our home-buying process, Craig remained committed to my wife and I to ensure we obtained the financing for our dream home. Craig is a stand-up guy and someone I would highly recommend for home financing needs. read more

Once again Martin, we were able to make another family's dream of owning their own home come true. It doesn't matter how many times it happens, it always feels like the first time to me. I'm truly Blessed to be able to work with you Martin. This time you told me, "We have wait in order to add a little more income, in order for them to be able to purchase a home." It took you only about two weeks, and I was out there showing homes to them. The key to buying a home is selecting the right Lender (Martin) first...then the right Agent. I truly appreciated you selecting me to help get your clients their keys. Every transaction comes with its own set of challenges. It's special to work with a seasoned professional like you Martin; to help you get your clients across the goal line. read more

More than just a lender, they treat you like family! Craig was recommended by my mother, who also bought a house from them. She was right that they would go to a distance to help you get the home of your dreams. They treat you like family! That is the most important for me. Never once they didn't reply to me or ignored my questions even on late nights. They took our hand every step of the way and helped us in getting the home we have always wanted. My credit score wasn't that good either, but they worked it out to make sure we were approved. We owe everything to Craig and his team. Their customer service is top notch and i would highly recommend them to anyone. If they can get the home of my dreams, they can do the same for you. Thank you Craig. We love our new home. =) read more

Lazar Bityou and his team helped me through an intricate process in a way that made it understandable and a positive experience. Lazar was the only person out of several that provided a step by step that got the job done. His expertise and guidance provided a clear path to completion that was head and shoulders above any service offered by any other mortgage firm I spoke to. I am sincerely grateful to have met and work with Lazar. I have, and will recommend him and his team to anyone that will listen. I have had several conversations with my realtor (Christine Fox with Shorewest) and several other realtors in the area, speaking to the professional manor, and overall impeccable job done by Lazar and his team. My family and I now live in our dream house, Thank You Lazar! read more

We are grateful to Wintrust Mortgage and the personalized attention we received from Larry Rappoport and his assistant, Kris. Larry is responsive and a clear communicator that initiates the intelligent, big picture conversations that enabled our family to make decisions and feel good about them. For instance, when it was time to lock our loan, Larry spent a long time on the phone educating us and discussing the options. Most brokers just say "what do you want to do?" Because Larry makes it a conversation, we felt really good about our decision. It was late in the day when we decided to lock, and Larry made sure the application was put in right away in case rates changed over night. We appreciate the attention to detail and dedication of Larry and Wintrust Mortgage. read more

Patrice has helped us with our mortgages twice now. We went back to her for our most recent purchase because we had had such a positive experience the first time. She is extremely responsive to questions and requests. I never left a voicemail because she always answered the phone. Okay, maybe once or twice I had to leave a message but she called back immediately and took care of the issue right away. We were kept informed throughout the entire process. Closing went smoothly without a hitch. Two weeks after, she got me to loan servicing and I was able to set up auto pay before the first payment was even due. Easy peasy. Patrice is smart, thoughtful and extremely helpful. All the qualities you want in a mortgage loan professional. I highly recommend her. read more

Our loan originator Jason Brown really sold me on his know how and expertise in financing our new home. We initially were planning on using our existing mortgage company however, Jason Brown offered better options, kept us fully informed, and really broke things down to where we were more aware of our finances, home affordability, the application and borrowing process. I will also give kudos to the loan processor Wendy Ehrhard for getting things all in order to make it happen. I will also add that Jason followed up during and after closing to check that all was in order and that things were going as planned. Thanks to him and the Wintrust team, things went smoothly! Thank you Jason! Thank you Wendy! Thank you Wintrust! Regards, The Magana Family read more

V at Wintrust Mortgage was very responsive and always available via email and phone calls; the customer service we received was unmatchable. We felt like someone was there holding our hand to make things as easy and understanding as possible. Being pregnant, he made sure we were always taken care of and made everything easy, especially the loan docs signing. We are excited to provide a new home for our growing family and are grateful that the process was a positive experience; making our new home that much better! V made the mortgage process seamless, educational, and comforting! Having a concurrent sale and purchase should have been hectic, but it felt like a breeze! Thank you for the experience and for taking great care of us! read more

Excellent service, from start to finish. This was my very first time getting pre-approved for a mortgage loan. I was referred to Wintrust Mortgage by my Real Estate agent. I could not have asked for a better experience. Originally, I had planned on staying with my regular bank, but I am so glad I stayed with the Lindquist Team. Peter was so great - very helpful, honest and always available when I had lots of questions. Thank You Peter! Amy was also phenomenal and I am so appreciative of everyone on this team! I was able to close on December 20th, a few days before Christmas, and I had my family moved into our new home for the Holidays. It was truly a joy to work with Peter and his awesome team! Highly recommended! read more

I worked with Tony Pigatti and will do so again when the situation arises. Like the other positive reviews here, I have been most impressed with his genuine concern for doing what is right for my family, both in what product he recommends and how to best manage the fees associated with that product (whether to buy down the rate, or the opposite). The whole Wintrust team was really invested in our transaction, and our closing was smooth, convenient (they came to us) and short! My only complaint: Wintrust still does not have any online account options for viewing our mortgage balance or making payments. I'm told they are working on it, but it's been several months, and this is pretty basis stuff these days. read more

Jeff Stec, Sherri Shannon and all the folks at Wintrust Mortgage were great to work with. After failing to have an appropriate appraisal value a year ago, they really worked with me and found a wonderful rate on a 15-year fixed for me and the appraisal came in well more than we had expected and needed this year. I loved the combination of communication by technology and in person. The explanatory videos on the process as it occurred was fantastic and the secure portal for passing important papers was solid. I'm confident I no longer need to feel like I could get a better rate or mortgage on my property now! Looking forward to not having that "to do" on my list of financial concerns. Thanks, Wintrust! read more

Daryn Peterson and the Wintrust team in Chicago (Steve, Josh, Patrick and Dolores) are collectively the "A-team" with respect to the 80's hit TV show. As a new prospect starting the loan journey with Daryn and team in March 2017, my experience has been absolutely positive through out the journey and ultimately became a client for a number of investments beyond my original goal. All the hallmark that one would strive to achieve with any business, the mission of great customer experience, professionalism, meeting/exceeding customer expectation and all around awesome team. Fast forward to 2018, I'm exploring future opportunities and they are on the top of my list to partner with. read more

Communication with the Shanna and her team was great. Recieved responses quickly. Everyone super nice. One thing that could have made things smoother at the end would be so specify where exactly to sign and initial in the closing packet using Post-It's or something. Also, a having a better understanding of how an out-of-state notary would effect the process, and convey that to the buyer (a notary "stamp" may not be needed, even though some pages ask for it). Is an out-of-state notary is okay? (Apparently, yes.). This lead to a little confusion at this final, time-sensitive stage. But all in all, I will recommend Wintrust and likely reach out to them on future investments! read more

I wanted to share a great experience I recently had with my loan officer, Robert Curtis at Wintrust Mortgage. It was very clear from the beginning that Robert has extensive knowledge of the mortgage industry, setting the right expectations throughout the mortgage process and making sure everything was handled from start to closing. The rates were very competitive and the experience was extremely professional! I would highly recommend Robert to anybody looking to get pre-qualified for a mortgage or to refinance a property. Robert and his team were always available for any of my 1st time home buying questions. I will definitely be using his services on my next purchase. read more
