BUYER BEWARE. Just got thru putting a new roof on because of design flaws in drainage, and fixing a broken water line because the cheapest materials that could have been used were used. They were also used improperly. Last month got a new garage door because it was close to falling off the wall. It had to be completely reframed because the original was not put in correctly and the door fell off the tracks. We were just lucky it didn't fall on one of our vehicles. Still haven't resolved the hot water cutting out in the guest bathroom. There are a million cracks in the stucco because they used the cheapest they could. Of course, the builder warranty was expired even though it's only been 5 years. This kind of crap shouldn't be happening already. Also, be sure to measure your vehicles because trucks DO NOT FIT IN THE GARAGE and the covenants do not allow carports. Two vehicle doesn't mean any vehicle. That was a hard lesson that I consider deceptive trade. I would run in the opposite direction if I ever saw a home had been built by Winton. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Our home is a Winton-designed home, and we love it! The many years we have lived in it have been wonderful, and we have no complaints whatsoever! The flow, design, and architectural details make it a a true jewel. We have been recently in contact with Winton to do a renovation to a house we own, and they have been approachable and extremely professional. We look forward to working with them very soon. Nice homes, but horrible warranty. Nothing has been fixed correctly. Stucco cracking in the same places that they have already addressed. Cabinets that don't work, toilets installed canted to the left. Lighting cans coming out of ceiling, master bathtub not installed correctly, the fist fix was to spray foam under in, did not work. High price to pay when you cannot get the things that need to be fixed taken care. Ana in the warranty is really bad at getting back to the customers and nobody seems to care. read more

This review is for their warranty service. They don't honor it. They avoid it. We bought a brand new home and have made multiple requests for repairs. They come, look at the problem, and never return. Never explaining what is happening. Now, we likely have mold. I spoke to several neighbors and they all made similar comments without prompting. If you are buying a new home, please don't purchase a Winton home based on the warranty. Get an inspection done on all home purchases, regardless of new or old, and hold them accountable before you sign. Make sure you at least get a roof inspection. I have heard many complaints about neighbors' roofs. We will never buy a Winton home again and I will never recommend them to family or my large set of coworkers. read more

Since Mr winton left the company doesnt have any respect for clients, Mr winton built me a $600,000 dlls home in 2010 and also owner financed a $245,000 dlls home in 2018 both payed off, Brianna Concha is a worker there treating people like trash and with no respect sometimes ,the problem is that she thinks she is the owner since Mr Winton left, i have a lot of respect for Mr andy Winton but not for the people in front of him especially brianna, she disrespected me a lot of times ,very rude with people and she is doing the best job for people to not comeback to winton homes again, i have tried to contact anybody to talk about this and other things i need but they block me everytime ,is ridicolous how they work togueter to not get you to Mr winton, i have tried to talk with one of Mr Winton suns or other persons above them but nothing happens ,dont built any houses with winton homes because you will get the same treatment from this people, the solution i got from them is to write a letter to Mr Winton with my claims really? i will send a letter to mr winton directly because i know they will not do nothing, i dont recomend Winton homes not for Mr Winton because i know him pretty well and he never will behabe like that, i have a lot of respect for him because before he listened me and gave me a great service,the main problem here is that he isnt there anymore and people there think they are the owners doing whatever they want , i payed off both houses and i get this service, dont do any bussiness with them without talking directly to owners because you will get a nasty service and they dont care , i will wait for Mr winton or a sun of him to seat down and give me the service i deserve but if that doesnt happen people there will treat you like trash whenever they keep being empowered by owners who dont know whats going on. read more

I bought a house in late 2012 in the 300k range, certainly did not get 300k quality. I can't really point my finger on it...Am I too demanding because I refuse to accept that I should be responsible to fix a 1/16 inch by 14+ foot crack (yes, feet) along my game room ceiling causing the caked-on plaster to crumble up to 1 inch wide? I personally think it's poor craftsmanship. I am not totally unreasonable...I showed the Winton rep around my house where I recaulked windows and a fixed a lengthy separation between my porch wall and the porch ceiling. I understand what needs to be fixed by me. However, this crack in my ceiling is beyond what I think I should fix, especially few month out of the 2 yr. warranty. Anyway, I refuse to put these guys at 1 star simply because I think that shows how poor my decision making process is in choosing a builder. Looking at friends houses around the area...I could have done much better with my 304k. read more

I own a Winton and Asscoiates home. Six years old and out of warranty. We discovered a defect in the Spanish tile roof. I informed the builder that the problem was from original construction. They sent a tema out to fix free of charge. That defines integrity and quality. I highly recommend this builder. read more

We moved into the Piazza Escondido condo/townhomes on October 9th, 2020. Winton & Associates are the builder of the entire community on Escondido DR in El Paso. They had just completed a 2 unit condo building. Both units had 2 bedrooms We purchased the first floor unit in October. The day we moved in we found out that the builder had rented the upstairs condo to his son and his family which included 2 small children and a new born baby. We had no issues at the beginning, however, after a couple of weeks, the children spent most of their time in the upstairs condo, running and stomping and screaming and yelling non-stop for hours, sometimes until after 9pm. The insulation between the two floors is minimal. After putting up with this for several weeks, we sent a complaint to the Winton Office asking them to do something about the noise. We were told there was nothing they could do, and didn't want to "rock the boat" because the owner of the unit was the builder who is part of the Winton Group. After another week or so, we sent a letter directly to the builder with details of the noise. Because the community has an HOA, we noted the 6 HOA Rules that were being violated by the tenants in the letter we sent to the builder. It was once again ignored. Next, we had the property management company send a Violation Notice from the HOA Board to the builder and the renters. Nothing changed - The notice was ignored. The children were still running, screaming, stomping non-stop. It was unreal. We had to turn our TV speakers up to 100% volume just to drown out the noise. We began recording the noise on a nightly basis. The recordings were sent to the property management company and the builder. A second Violation Notice was sent to the builder and the renters. Once again, nothing changed - This notice was once again ignored. In fact, the noise levels got louder and more frequent by the day. We've complained to our HOA Board and the property management company weekly. Recordings of the noise were sent to the HOA Board as well. Our HOA rules are very clear on what action needs to be taken in a situation like this. However, everyone is concerned because the owner of the unit it the builder. So, we're sitting here, after almost 5 months of this daily/nightly nightmare, and nothing is being resolved. Long story short, steer clear of Winton & Associates. All they want is your money. As soon as they have it, they because worthless. They continued to ignore the situation, because it involved "family members". We would never ever recommend them to anyone. The property management company and our HOA Board have brought in an attorney to begin eviction procedures to get these people out of that unit. No thanks to Winton Associates! read more

My husband and I bought an Accent Home last year. I can honestly say that we regret buying from this builder. Prior to us closing on our home, they were incredibly helpful. They were given a list of things to fix and we were given a promise it would all be taken care of. It was all lies. A lot of the problems they claimed they would fix, never happened. If they did, the work was sub-par. We have spent the last 5 months battling with them. If you don't like random strangers in your home, think twice. If you value your possesions and don't want them covered in texture and paint, think twice. It's understandable that no home is perfect- these guys are incapable of doing even just an 'okay' job after you give them a second opportunity to fix it. It's very sad and frustrating to be treated this way. As soon as they got their 140k for our home, they stopped caring. The owner's or investors of this company should be embarassed. read more

This company has the worst customer service imaginable and they send the most unprofessional group of people to your home to have things fixed. I almost don't want them to come over to fulfill the warranty repairs of the home, but I cannot afford such luxuries. I moved here because of my Army orders and I had to find a home quick. I found one in a great location and was affordable. The closing team were suppose to fix several things but by the time I got here nothing was finished and they said that the warranty team would finish all the request after we purchase the property. I was in El Paso with my all my stuff and my wife with no place to stay. So I took their word and moved into this brand new home understanding that this company would fix all the problems with the home under it's one year warranty. So first I'll just list everything wrong with the brand new home. The rock wall/border for the back yard was falling apart, huge crack in the cement in the driveway (which I cannot do anything about according to them), bathtub is cracked (yes this is a new home never lived in), shower door isn't leveled with borders of shower glass, gas leak in the stove, improper ventilation in home (which lead to our CO2 alarm going off all the time), garage door borders was falling off and wasn't closing properly (many crickets now live in my garage), irrigation system with no backflow and not up to city code (could be the reason why all my plants are dead), front lawn landscaping had dead plants (which were replaced with more dead plants and replaced plants were dead when planted), no screens on windows we got them about 7 months later, and some minor cosmetic issues with the home which wasn't a big deal. This was a brand new home and brand new product from this company and maybe this is the standard for El Paso builders, I do not know. This complaint doesn't include the ignored emails or phone calls without reply from their customer service and no call no shows to appointments on their behalf. I just wanted to express more on the quality of the product of the home rather then the almost nonexistent customer service they have. Just one more thing for my military consumers to be aware of is that Winton Flair is the same company as Accent homes so if you PCS to El Paso and looking for a new home consider making sure they fix everything upfront because they will take advantage of our situation of constantly moving and having only a short period of time to find a home. read more

DO NOT SIGN OR GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!! Please make sure that you know exactly what you are getting before you sign or hand over any of your money. They will tell you they will not keep your money, LIES! I was lied to, after I was repeatedly told that "They are not in the business of stealing peoples' money" every time I asked them if I backed out for whatever reason, would I get my money back. The worst of it is that they had not even broke ground, not one granule of dirt was turned. They stole over $6000.00 from me!! I could understand if they had kept $1000 for the lot hold and maybe another $800 to $1100 for the plan that was modified. Which is another story in itself. They claim to be "Custom Home Builders", but when you ask them to do things the way you want, the "Architect" says he cannot do it, and will not even give you an explanation or any options for that matter. He wants to do what he wants and how he wants. God forbid you know what you want and voice it. In addition, good luck trying to meet with him, he never has time and he will not work 1 minute passed 5PM because the company will not pay him. You have to work around him; we are the customers and should be accommodated as such. Make sure anything you ask for is written down and initialed by them and yourself with the cost if it, if it's extra. I asked for everything I wanted from the beginning, being that this would have been my third home I have purchased, it was not my first go around. In addition, assuming I had told them from the beginning, I thought the price had all my wish list included in the price. WRONG!!! They came out with an estimated $19,000 extra on top of the sale of the house. I do not know how these people can sleep at night; I certainly could not work for a company like that. However, the only solace I find is that there is a God, and you reap what you sow. No one leaves this earth without his or her due justice. I just do not want anyone else to go thru what I went thru. We all work hard for our money, and unless your filthy rich, "I DO NOT" recommend you even take your chance with this company, they have lawyers, a mortgage company and even a bank they are in cahoots with. I pre-bought my home while I was at another duty station. It was promised to be complete by my arrival which I did do as expected on the last day of July. When I arrived the house had not been entirely complete, no blinds or other things and it was not cleaned - having lots of left over work material about the rooms and garage. The house under appraised! And the appraiser was one that the builder picked! When I wanted the sale price dropped the builder attempted to get another appraisal which just off the bat does not sound good. I love the house and I love the location and I had a job to start and a boss expecting me to have had this housing situation all in order so I agreed to unload my UHAUL and property with the builder in the garage. I also had to pay cash up front for a Winton Swimming Pool - seemed simple enough if the house was built by Winton to also have my pool built by Winton. Warranties and communication would be easier (NOT!) the case. I have had 2 leaks during heaving storm season in the roof of the house while under warranty. The left over paint was very minimal and to me - that paint was left over for my own use as tough up around the home for small minor knicks. The builder did patch the leaks in the garage and in the living room. They however, did not match the orange peal textures. The textures in the repair work are totally different and obvious in the living room and the leak actually did damage to the living room fan which was never replaced. I also now have a square patch of paint in the living room that doesn't match the rest of the living room. It's 3 different shades of color where it should only be one in the garage also. I had identified this to the builders repair workers (whom are decent guys) and they seemed to think that the off color would not be so bad once the paint dried. The problem is I was rarely home and could see the ceiling in natural lighting and kept insisting the patch work was obvious. It is obvious, but it's like arguing the obvious with the builder to do something about it. Rather than paint the patch and giving it the proper texture of the rest of the room they left it looking like crap. Additionally the Winton "Pool" guys do need to at times communicate with the Winton "builder" guys. I don't think it is the customer that needs to mediate with these two entities. In my case I felt stuck! With one saying it was the other's responsibility and the other saying it was the other guy's responsibility. I wanted a pool so bad and I got one, but it was not in time to use it unfortunately it completed in October. Winton, told me that they could do anything I wanted if I had the money. I came up with the money and it's as if they over work their crew with them running from house to house and never able to do the tasks in a timely manner at each house. Pool and Home for Winton need to work together. And avoid the customer needing to take so many days off from work and upsetting my boss. I was told that repair work could not be done unless a home owner was present. I had to be there multiple times to (1) show the damage and then (2) be available for the work, and also sometimes have them return. 3 appointments and time off from work. Pool and Home for Winton facilities and offices are located next door to each other on the same street. I found that when a problem arose such as removing the gate - get this the builder placed an ILLEGAL gate to the back yard on my lot - why is it illegal you ask? Because it enclosed the gas meter and by code a builder should know this. It was brought to my attention for this reason (code violation as well as for the fact that it was put on prior to the install of the pool which needed to get access with he back hoe. When they removed the gate - and ultimately finished the pool no one wanted to replace the gate for me. When they did replace it (to my regret, I do not speak spanish) I was troubled that the installer did not speak english and would return the gate to the wrong spot so I took the day off and was present. It was put in the right spot, but there was no repair work done to the holes on the house where the old rebar was located from the original spot. It's been over 2 years and this is still an eye soar. Additionally, now that the house has settled. Multiple cracks are visible and nail pops. The paint used was either a light coat or not plastic in nature allowing for the paint to settle some with the house settling and elevating major cracking in the house. Also the separations in between the stucco panels were never cleanly scraped before final paint so the overall seems look slopping. The front and back porch of the homes had drippings from stucco and or other products that were never cleaned but the areas were stained and sealed over and now can not be easily fixed. Looks like oil stains and sloppy - not at all what I was shown on their model home and the manner in which I expected a Winton Home finished. read more
