It was wonderful to know that the provider I met with many times would be the one to deliver my baby. Hospitals often just have whoever is on call be present at the delivery, but knowing it would be Kelly was a wonderful. It was great to be able to text with her in labor while we figured out the timing and have a follow up with her soon after the birth and again 6 weeks later. She provided information on how to stay healthy in pregnancy to reduce any complications and was very helpful postpartum. I hope to deliver our next baby with Kelly.

She is the BEST DOCTOR I've ever had and that is saying a lot because I have a couple of chronic conditions and have seen literally more than 200 doctors! She listens patiently, discusses your illness or disease and its likely course, then discusses the options with you. With me, I feel like I go in to see her, tell how I feel and what my symptoms are, she asks a few clarifying questions and exams me, then she tells me what's wrong and discusses with me how to make it feel better and get better. She is willing to change directions when something is not working and she is also willing to "try it your way" when you come in with thoughts and ideas for a treatment plan that you want to try (as long as it it safe), even if it is not the approach that she would normally advise. She will tell you when you need more advanced or specialized care than she can provide in her office and will refer you to an appropriate specialist. She is always open and honest with her patients. Her office staff are all professional, efficient, and kind. I highly recommend her! If she is not available, Dr. Kurtis Elward, another doctor in that same practice, is also very good.

There is no fancy lobby or 10,000.00 dollar grandfather clocks. Just family oriented owner and staff that really care. They didn't jack the price up after mom was settled in like two other places did. when mom got to the point and hospice was called in and mom couldn't do anything for herself Tammy the owner would not move her to a nursing home. You can tell how much she (and all the doctors that I've seen) truly care about your children. She specifically is super educational. When she was talking to me about first feeding my baby solids, she gave me a whole background on why she thought it might be good to start at the time she recommended. I appreciated that so much. She always explains things a lot and makes it more understandable for me as the parent. Plus, she's caring, fun, and makes me feel at ease and comfortable. Let me just say I am wary of doctors. I don't know why and I don't know where it came from, but I just am not one to take the doctor's advice without any resistance or questioning. Though I've only been a parent for less than half a year, I have never felt resistant to the advice of the doctor's here, especially Dr. Boersma who I see the most. I just feel like they know what they are doing, they are caring, they don't make me feel stupid for asking questions, and they make me feel comfortable. All good things. When it comes to offices, I've been to both the Crozet and main Rio office. I definitely love the Crozet office best. It's so nice that there is really only one doctor at a time (except during walk in hours) so the waiting room is never crowded and the wait usually isn't long. This is nice, because I know I'm not going to be sitting in a room of sick kids just for a well check. Overall, highly, highly, highly recommend and especially recommend Dr. Boersma (if you couldn't tell)!

They provided no further communication that there was an ongoing issue, and we were surprised to find we were unable to make an appointment for our sick child when she needed to be seen. The providers are wonderful. The front office and billing staff is the worst I've ever experienced. I would not choose them to provide care based on the wall of problems we've run into since their acquisition. Sad, since they used to be wonderful.
