First of all, Dr. Darian is very kind. Martha is amazing and Michelle, the hygienist is knowledgeable and gave me great tips. However Kayla is rude and blunt at the front desk. I didn't appreciate her attitude and then she said that she was the dentist's assistant- Wow. Veronica is the best dentist's assistant. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing at this practice. I thought I found a great new dentist but not sure now. I am a senior with no dental insurance! Their in-office insurance is too high compared to other dentists. Kayla didn't know and said it was around $200. I really like the dentist but the receptionist is really rude. The office seems disorganized. I was called on tuesday and they left a message for the wrong name and date. I came for my Saturday appointment and the lady said I had no appointment. Getting dental work is scary so having it be disorganized is really scary. I went to check on time and before I said anything (it was 30 late at this point) the lady just glowered at me and said we're running behind you'll be called when we can get to you. Come on guys. They are 'bill boosters". Meaning, they will add in things you don't need in order to boost the bill. Things which are most likely not covered by your insurance. I told them on several occasions that I was on Social Security and could NOT pay anything above what my insurance pays for. After my appt yesterday , they said "that will be $150" !!!! I actually yelled at her and I am not sorry. They have no regard for other people's money or finances. I ended up paying $75 and am still sooooo angry about it. You have to lock your wallet around these people and ask what EVERYTHING is going to cost before you have it done. By the way, they have $3000 from my insurance to pay for what I need and , to me, this is the epitome of GREED and CRASS. read more

I've had issues with previous dentists, but my brother suggested I come here as he had recently discovered them and had a good experience. I only went in for a cleaning and to find out what work I needed. The hygienist, Billie, was such a sweetheart! She was quick, and kind. I only interacted with Dr. Darian briefly, but my first impression was that he was very professional and fair. He was nice enough to offer me some preventative services for free after I get the work I need done. At the front desk I was given fair prices and the girl that explained what I need done explained everything in very plain English. If your front office isn't right, nothing is right. The first time I attributed it to maybe she was busy, but I called a second time six weeks later, and the same thing happened. I made an appointment months in advance of a cleaning with Winning Smiles. I have been a patient for three or four years. At my prior cleaning, the hygienist only got the stain off the front of my teeth, and when I got home, I noticed she had not cleaned the back of my teeth. She did a terrible job. I called and said I wanted to come back in, and even offered to pay, just to get the back of my teeth cleaned. I go in every three months for cleanings. The office scheduled the appointment with Dr. Darien instead of the dental hygienist because the hygienists are paid by patient and would not get paid for finishing a job she should have done in the first place. In less than 10 minutes, my teeth were clean. The doctor stated to me that there is another dentist who has up to date equipment where they can get the stain off easier and quicker, and that his staff would call me with a name. I told him if it was the price, meaning that if it was taking longer than average, I was willing to pay more and had no problem with that that he is shaking me down, to have my teeth cleaned correctly, and he agreed with that, and it was left at that. I only wanted to stay with him because his office was, up until a month ago, open on Saturdays. His staff never called with the name of a dentist that has high-tech equipment for cleaning. Thereafter, I was called by Dr. Darien's office to reschedule my appointment because they were no longer open on Saturdays. I rescheduled. Nothing else was said. I showed up for my appointment today, and I told the hygienist I would like on my next visit to have a deep cleaning (under the gums) because it had been at least two years (which I had done at Dr. Darien's office), because I just got insurance a month ago that covered that procedure completely. She said I cannot recommend that unless I check the pockets in your teeth. So, she did so, and said probably would be a good idea. She recognized she was the one who cleaned my teeth the last time and had not done a professional job and stated that they had scheduled more time with me this time to actually clean all my teeth. She goes to the receptionist to get the deep cleaning coverage and prices, etc. called into my insurance company. I am waiting and waiting and wondering why she is making me wait to get my teeth cleaned. I have to go to work. I asked the other hygienists or assistants, and they were unprofessional and spoke to me rudely. Finally, the woman from the reception comes back and says she has an estimate, and I tell her that's fine, can we do this later and that's for next time, and we need to start on my teeth as I have to go to work. I am the one who initiated the deep clean - not them. She said that no they could no longer clean my teeth unless I did the deep cleaning, and they could only do half my mouth. I said that is for next time. She said they could not do so unless I did the deep clean because that was what the doctor stated in his care plan last time. None of that is true. She was untruthful. The doctor never said that. At that time, I did not have insurance for that procedure and would never agreed. I just got the insurance a little over a month ago, and the appointment was made four months ago. I was coming in for a regular cleaning. I understand they want to make a buck, more than any other dentist I have gone to, and I was willing to pay more for my cleanings outside of my prepaid plan because they are unprofessional. He agreed, the appointment was made four months ago. So they got me there FOR WHAT, and as she said she had scheduled more time with me to actually do a good cleaning - scheduled four months ago and when I did not have insurance for deep cleaning. What they did is unconscionable, and they are untruthful. I was amazed how this all unfolded and the lies. If the dentist said there is a care plan, and next time it has to be a deep cleaning, I would not have made the appointment because I had no insurance four months ago. I wasted two hours of my time going there. DO NOT TRUST THEM. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The front office staff was friendly, but the dentists certainly do not care about the patients and clearly only care about getting paid. The younger dentist (I believe he is Darian's son) appeared high while working on my teeth--red eyes, delayed speech, and lethargy. He claimed that I needed my fillings replaced on my bottom left and right molars although I was not experiencing any pain or sensitivity. After completing the work, he chipped my back molar on the left and jammed the tool used to create space between the teeth so hard, that it left a permanent gap between my last and second to last molars on the left. This later led to pain and discomfort as food particles were more frequently getting trapped in that area and his roughness caused lingering soreness. On the right side, he sealed the healthy space between my back molars and I couldn't floss. After I went back to have this fixed, the filling later popped out completely and I had to schedule another emergency repair. I had to go back twice because first, he sealed the teeth together, and then the filling broke--that has NEVER happened in my entire life! When I went back the third time, Darian attempted to do a quick fix without using novocaine on the area. Due to the pain, I requested to be numbed. It took several attempts to numb the area, again this NEVER happened before. The dentist was trying to rush the procedure so he could leave the office. He threw trash and dental floss all over the apron they put on patients, instead of throwing the trash on the dental tray. He was RUDE and PREJUDICE, claiming I needed to have my teeth filed down because they are too sharp when I never complained of any issues with my teeth or mouth. He caused PERMANENT damage on the left and I had to go to a subsequent dentist to fix the issues he created on the right. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST IF YOU ARE A MINORITY! What made it even worse, is the insurance company gave me a really hard time trying to file a grievance even after providing clinical evidence TWICE. I had to involve the NAIC. This is a HORRIBLE dental practice and the worst dental experience I've ever had! read more
