What a great place to have a trophy or plaque made…read more I was looking to have a plaque made in a hurry, and knew that it would have to be someone within driving distance of Hollister. Yelp to the rescue, and within minutes I was on the phone with Valley Trophies. They were able to describe all of the options to me over the phone, and guarantee a pickup within the week. They saved my bacon in so many ways. Getting there was fairly easy, though it was a rainy day and parking is pretty tough in the part of Salinas where they're located. I ended up having to park a few streets down and cut across some alley ways in the rain, but it was worth it. When I walked in they were producing the plaque and had a few questions for me to answer. It was done within minutes, and I was on my way looking like a super hero, and not the forgetful procrastinator that I really am ;). Their staff is friendly, their turnaround time is fast, and I just can't say enough good about them. Stop by and get your next trophy, award, or metal detector.

My fiancé and I were researching jewelers in the Monterey area to downsize my engagement ring…read more Since bold jewelers is relatively close to our place, we decided to pop in and met Eduardo who seemed to be very straightforward and polite when we were inquiring about down sizing my gold band. The initial size of the ring was 7.02 and we wanted to get it downsized to 6.5 During our visit, he took the size of my ring and had me fill out some information so that he could contact me when the ring would be ready. Eduardo stated that since the drop off was Monday the 14th he would have it done no later than Wednesday the 16th, no pricing was stated by word of mouth or even written on the slip that my ring was placed into. Upon picking up my engagement ring, we said our thank you's and Eduardo said somewhat awkwardly "oh, who's going to pay for the service?" My fiancé and I looked confused so he followed up by saying he doesn't work for free. Very shoddy. Now I'm not one to make a fuss because I believe every vendors gotta make their money right, but usually the price of the gold is taken by the jeweler and calculated against what the labor was. We are very disappointed at the lack of communication when pricing for services, if we had known it would be $150 to downsize a simple gold band, we would have waited and taken my ring back to the original jewelers where we originally bought it. I think the salt in the wound is after taking a closer inspection of the ring, you can definitely tell where Eduardo took apart and soldered back together the ring as there are scuff marks along the bandyou would think for $150 I would get quality work, but this is just another Monterey shop trying to get money off of tourists.

I cannot say enough good things about Charlie, the manager at Copymat in Salinas…read more I was helping an elderly client who is not comfortable with technology and really only uses his phone to make and receive calls. I needed him to get some documents to me, and what would normally be a simple task was very difficult for him. Charlie went above and beyond to help. He was patient, kind, and had a fantastic attitude. He took the time to help my client through the process and then sent me exactly what I needed. It made what could have been a very stressful situation incredibly easy. I had originally sent my client to FedEx for assistance, but they were unwilling to help him. Thankfully, we found Charlie at Copymat. The difference in customer service was remarkable. This is what great customer service looks like--recognizing when someone needs a little extra assistance and being willing to help. Charlie treated my client with patience and respect, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you, Charlie! I will absolutely recommend Copymat in Salinas to my clients and others who need printing, copying, or document assistance.

I had the project as a pdf. Once we got the pdf. to the copymat computer, the person there worked hard at changing the format to fit the 8x8 size and produced the final result, which was beautifully trimmed to exactly 8x8. At the beginning, he had asked how many copies I wanted and I had said one, and his shoulders sank. But he still spent about 15-or 20 minutes inputting the specs, testing by printing and adjusting. When he thought it was just rignt, he gave it to me. said I said it was beautiful. As we went over to the register, I asked how much it would cost, he rang it up and said, $1.02. I said, that can't be right! He said, you're right, it was double sided. That would will be $2.03. I paid the money, and walked out to my car and then came back to him and said that I just couldn't do that and gave him a good tip. You just can't beat that kind of know how, attention to detail, and service to the customer. I will always recommend Copymat for all printing needs.
