Time passed, I never got a chance to visit until I decided to smarten up this year and in preparation decided to finally pay the location a visit. Finding the store is perhaps the most difficult part of the experience of shopping there... The place is located in a weird street that starts off Carlaw, just north of the Dundas intersection. There's what seems to be a parking lot in the corner, weird building around it and to make matters worse a bad street sign and it's a dead end street. Once you find the street though it's pretty straightforward. The store in itself is small and has a simple layout. It has a wide open feel of a loft, filled with items all over. The three different people I've met that work there are very friendly and knowledgeable. Just ask questions and they'll give their honest opinion about an item. Plus, shopping is always made easier when you know beforehand what you're looking for. So, with that said, check their website before heading into the store. I got myself some glove liners & lamb wool insoles. Both very affordable and extremely useful. There are LOTS of other things in the store and all very useful for anyone that works or does sports outdoors during winter (or even for those that walk a little further and want to be warm!). My last purchase was a Veja shoe and when i was at the store it seemed ok but when I tried at home with a sock it was a bit tight. I tried to exchange for one size larger and because I didn't have the box with me they didn't any to do anything about it. I didn't wear once and still sitting on my closet. Housed in a cute Victorian small-town cottage beside the Leslieville Pumps gas station/grub joint, the store is like a teleporter to that other side of Queen Street, that I wonder if I am even in my own neighbourhood anymore whenever I step inside. I guess it's a sign of the times in the east end, as much as it is an interesting addition to the Leslieville strip. I was forwarded a meme whilst contemplating this nonsense (because apparently no one else has yet, bloody hell), and on it, a satirical list of things purported to be signs your 'hood is gentrifying, including an "inexplicable general store." Inexplicable. General. Store. I guess that best explains Good Neighbour. True to form, the place is filled with all sorts of eclectic and stylish stuff of all random categories scattered everywhere, like greeting cards, clothes and outerwear, mugs, footwear, backpacks, cosmetics, stationery. It's sort of like a Drake General Store (or maybe even an Urban Outfitters), but with more emphasis on fashion and lifestyle goods... and less on random cheeky hipster gag gift kitsch. There's a small kids section tucked in the back by the fitting room stalls, with an assortment of dresses, toys, puzzles, and humourous books. The men's stuff upstairs kind of scares me with the quantity of soaps and toiletries for the discerning well-groomed hip man. The place itself is a marriage of curated hip(ster) tastes (oh wait, they even have a table of selected Drake General Store crap for sale), and Club Monaco chic. Thankfully like a good neighbour the folks here don't stink so much of that douchey we're-too-cool-for-thou attitude that many hipster businesses are known for--they instead stink of individual cheerful Queen West-esque personality and a level of helpfulness not normally seen in a more corporate fashion boutique. Pricey? Kinda expected that. What is not expected are the sale offers that do pop up time and time again. My sister claims she bought a pair of jeans here for less than what Hudson's Bay was charging for the same brand. But I usually end up with socks, or scarves, or cards. There's a staff member at the entrance that takes your temperature and there's a bottle of hand sanitizer there as well. I wasn't sure if the fitting rooms would be open. I was told that they are with a limit of 6 items allowed to be taken in. There's physical distancing tape on the floor by the fitting room as well as the cash registers. Also, each employee has plexiglass separating them from each other as well as the customer. By the cash registers there's a large bin where you can drop off gently worn clothing to be donated through local shelters across Canada. Donated Uniqlo down items that can't be worn again are recycled into new products.

This outlet is a good size, easy to navigate, super helpful staff, and a big sale section in the back. For those students who haven't heard yet - CM offers students 20% off anything when they show their student card. Eeeee!

The wooden one was more expensive, but it will take up too much space so I decided to go with the marble one. Another time I was there to get a pair of shoes on emergency because mine had a hole and getting soaked during a rainy day. I was able to get a pair of Vans sneakers that's leather and waterproof for only $40. I was very pleased. The checkout counters were pretty fast, lots of cashiers. I was able to pay fast.

I was glad because there was a white dress I wanted to buy. I walked in, the saleslady who was sitting on the bench outside RAN after me. I looked around, saw a few pieces then I ask her for MY size. Her reply was: 1....thousand...2hundred... [ VERY SLOWLY] I wanted to introduce her face to my palm. But I contained myself. I'm NEVER going back there, I go downtown instead. I was…read moreactually drawn to the Nightmare Before Christmas Display at the front of the store and because of that, I blocked a whole group from being able to exit - good for the store, not so much for the customers trying to escape! The store is roughly organized into sections by interest - Disney, Harry Potter, Anime, with some jewelry and other cutesy things in between. They do carry some BT21 merch but not the selection that Sukoshi does. The anime section was pretty extensive. It was nice to see that it's more mainstream now. They have a huge wall of t-shirts to choose from. They're just normal printed cotton tees and they were all around $32 (before discounts) which was I was kind of surprised at. I suppose it's the licensing fee that makes it so expensive.
