Thus, I decided I'd make a heroic sacrifice for my fellow yelpers and go in and check it out. The owner Victoria was lovely and happy to chat with me and her store itself is well laid out with a pleasant atmosphere. There was a wide range of attractive clothing for sizes 14+ as well as jewelry and other accessories. I should note here that she's not currently stocking shoes but has pretty much everything else you need to kit yourself out. Also, while I was there I saw at least one happy customer make a number of fine purchases. Hopefully someone who has actually bought something here will come along and give their more experienced review however I was pretty impressed with Gussied Up - if you are a fuller figured lady I recommend coming in and checking it out!

I am so happy now that their second location in Vaughan is open, it's much more convenient for me (but that could be dangerous for my bank account) The only negative about the Bathurst location, is that its a little tricky finding parking, but if you persevere, its worth it.

Yes, they are pricey (but in my humble American experience there is quite a mark up on *all* clothes in Canada vs the States - like a cheap tank top at H&M will be $5 more automatically in Canada - the exchange rate right now more than makes up for it) but a lot of the items aren't much - if any - cheaper online. I also just love supporting places like this, since there are so few left, and since a lot of "goth" brands run small I prefer to try a lot of the stuff on in person. The girl working and I had a good chat about the history/future of Lip Service in particular and some other stuff. She was super helpful and friendly which was also a change from a lot of alt shops, where the employees seem to spend their time perfecting that "I'm way too fucking cool to talk to you" vibe that makes me eye roll. I wanted *all* the things but settled on two LS dresses, one of which was shiny PVC and fulfilled all of 15 year old me's dreams. Definitely a spot to check out for a pricier but quality "statement piece" or to comb the shoe and clothing sales racks. This Marshalls store is located at Oshawa Centre. It's on the second floor, near Hudson's Bay…read more This store is smaller than most Marshalls stores. I prefer Winners more because the women's size 11 shoe section is much better than Marshalls. I was pleased to see a size 10 and 11 section. The problem? I didn't find a single pair of size 11 shoes. It's the main reason why I am not a regular at any Marshalls store. It is rare to find footwear in my size unless I dip into the men's section. I do continue to check Marshalls out, including this one. I spotted two Kipling bags at this store. One had the signature monkey. The other one didn't. Both were $59. The women's clothing section was tiny. I liked a sweatshirt with cherries. I also loved a sweater that had LOVE on it. The cosmetics section was great. Nail care was slim pickings. The setup at this store is interesting. The checkout counter is at the very back of the store. The fitting room is on the right when you walk into the store. The men's section was practically non-existent. So weird. I'm happy that I dropped by. I didn't pick up anything, but at least I know that this store exists. (52)

I've been a regular customer at this Winners location for years, but my most recent visit has left…read moreme so uncomfortable that I won't be returning to this location Ever! Today, I needed to return one item and exchange another for a smaller size. Everything went smoothly until checkout. The cashier, a woman about 5'3" tall, with dark brown skin, black boy cut hair, and appearing to be in her late 50s (maybe) was for some reason angry from the start. I greeted her politely with, "Hi, how's it going?" She ignored me completely. When I explained I wanted to return an item and pulled it out, she processed it with an angry look. As I started to mention the second item ("And this one as well..."), she cut me off mid-sentence and yelled, "WAIT! LET ME DO THIS FIRST!" I was shocked and caught off guard. She then said in an angry tone and look, "We're only giving store credit." I replied calmly, "Okay, that's fine." But the issues continued: She tried swiping the gift card to load the funds, but it wouldn't work. She got angry and said, "Why isn't this working?!" and smacked the card against the reader repeatedly before continuing. To top it off, she made me stand there for a full 10 minutes while she slowly attached pins, magnets, and hangers to the returned items while I was staring at her irritated expression the whole time before finally processing my exchange. As someone with 3 years of retail experience, I know good customer service, and this was the opposite. I don't know what their training is like, but it's clearly not preparing staff to handle basic transactions with respect. This rude, inefficient experience has ended my loyalty to this store I'll shop elsewhere from now on.

The shop is big with lots of room and mirrors so there's no claustrophobic feeling that you get in many of the other jam packed vintage shops. Lisa was amazingly vibrant and helpful and after trying on every Jacket on the rack I whittled it down to two. I bought both. Very pleased. Great selection of quality vintage goods.
