Food was average bar food, nothing to rave about. Asked about any gluten free options waitress said nachos? I am not celiac but can't eat it. She didn't seem to really care otherwise. Like eh. Had our four kids (3 teens) with us which two asked for the same thing lizard lips which one received a kids with fries for 5.50 and the other received no fries and charged as an appetizer $10 (same amount of chicken). I got cheese fries and had to let daughter eat most of them. My two sons shared a small pizza not knowing it was like a kids small pizza (size of a plate). I have been to a few of the locations and this one is excellent had a nice time here . Very cozy and not cramped up type of atmosphere. I had the Hanson burger excellent!!! Tried to take my family of 5 to the Avon, OH Winking Lizard and before we could even fully get through the front door the hostess yells "you can't bring him in here with cleats on!". She was referencing my 4 year old son and his hand-me-down pretend cleats who had entered the restaurant ahead of my wife and other boys. It was explained to us that the floors are too slick for him to walk on with cleats, which we offered to carry him (again...he's 4 years old), to and from the table, however this wasn't deemed an acceptable option. We also offered to remove his shoes, however no shoes, no service. My bill for a family of 5 would have been north of $125 plus tip, however in this circumstance we were turned away and refused service as a result one a 4 year old and plastic cleats. Simply amazing. Got take-out from here the other night, we ordered over the phone. The staff was very friendly and ordering was easy. When we got there the parking lot was jammed but luckily they had designated spots for people getting take-out, so again, very easy. Even though we got there at the exact time when our order was supposed to be ready, we still had to wait 10 minutes. Ok, sometimes things happen not a huge deal since we had nowhere to be that day. The reason for the 2 star review is that the food was not good. Since the pandemic it feels like the quality has gone downhill. My burger was well done even though I ordered it medium, and for all you burger aficionados out there you understand how grave a mistake this is. It was very dry. There were hardly any onions or cheese on the burger, which were the main toppings. The fries were decent. We also got an order of wings, 10-pack, and were only given 9. When you get wings as a meal, pay as much as you do for them, and then are shorted a wing after leaving a generous tip because it's a pandemic and you want to support the workers, it's annoying. I've seen wing orders for the last few months , wings just dripping in the sauce , so tonight I thought I'd order some...I usually ask for extra sauce on the side because I love sauce and they charge you , ready, $.39 for extra sauce ..... well ok So when my order comes , they are completely dry..... The sever was super nice and patient with us as we figured out the menu. Huge TVs everywhere give you a view of any game you want - I'm not a sports guy, but it's pretty sweet. They have that fancy coke dispenser that had thirty drink options, and the place mat is a tour of beers, with five limited availability beers and seasonal rotations. In fact, it's a bit overwhelming. The fried pickles were pretty okay - breaded instead of battered as I prefer, but mostly crispy. On the other hand, my wings were fantastic - that lip burn that says, "I don't care how ridiculous I look with an orange beard, I can't stop eating these spicy garlic wings." The caribbean wings were also quite good. Overall, I'll be happy to return and try new things like the 16" French bread pizza which our neighbor table ordered. read more

We found this restaurant on the fly after a failed attempt at dinner someplace else. Was hoping for more of a restaurant experience but it's all bar. We ordered Mac and cheese bites for an appetizer. These were definitely bought pre-made and frozen - have had these exact bites at other restaurants. I ordered a burger on garlic toast with fries. The burger was very dry but the fries were really good! He ordered plain wings and those were also very dry. We were hoping to take home a T-shirt or something neat from a place with such an interesting name, but it felt like we were annoying the manager when we would ask about sizes and styles or expressed we couldn't get the online store to load on our phones. She was quick to pull it up on her laptop and show us what was available in their online store, but who's going to think about going back later to order that kind of stuff? read more

Winking Lizard is bar and a restaurant in one. They have plenty of options of food to choose from. I usually go there for the pizza and it has always been good. Their patio is a great size with plenty of seating. They also have an outside bar to, which would be nice in the summer. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. I love winking lizard. Although I was extremely disappointed in the management and staffing that was displayed to me and my party of 5. I'm not surprised at to why this location is the worst performing in north east ohio. Me and my party were greeted at the door by a very rude and disrespectful waitress who proceeded to threaten to call the manager on us because one of the members in my group didn't have an ID. we traveled here from over an hour away. When the manager came he was also disrespectful and argued with my friend who just wanted to get wings. Very disappointed in the local management and lack of respect for customers. Decided to go here on Father's Day. Such a let down! For starters we ordered the potato skins and they were tiny. One was not even a skin, they sliced a 1/4" piece of potato and threw some cheese on it and called it a day. Then My wife and I both ordered chicken sandwiches. Mine came out and was burnt, super thin and only covered half the bun. Tasted like charred meat. My wife's was tiny as well but at least it wasn't burnt. It still had zero flavor though. How do you make Buffalo chicken sandwiches with no flavor? I wanted to complain to the manager but our waitress didn't come back until we had finished eating what we could. I've been going to the Wink for years. Done the tour of beers twice and gotten to know the place and it's staff pretty well. It's a good friendly place. Good beer selection, good food, good service, especially the bar tenders. The only down side is that it can get pretty crowded during peak hours. read more

Winking Lizard TAVERN - apparently this "restaurant" only allows patrons 21 and older entrance after 5 pm unless accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately my daughter and her boyfriend (17) drove 30 minutes in a snowstorm to celebrate an anniversary. Imagine their disappointment when they were asked for their ID's and then offered the carry out menu. Seriously? The Winking Lizard should NOT be called a restaurant if they discriminate and are unable to "police" their customers - every other restaurant in existence seems to be able to serve customers of all ages without discriminating. The wait times are absurd and the manager doesn't know how to handle any increased volume at all. The staff are rude and clearly don't like families coming in because they'll roll their eyes at high chair requests and groan when kids walk in. Half of the lettuce was black and wilted, the croutons were stale, and there was barely a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. I can appreciate a lunch rush but the time that elapsed was more than should be expected for someone to acknowledge you or grab a drink order. Have started visiting this location monthly since January, really like the beer of the month - try different beer and get brewery swag or at least a glass. Today went with my son to celebrate and had Pam was our server, she was pleasant and attentive! She asked us if we were aware of the Tour of Beers. Kinda like a beer club-it had never been mentioned well she couldn't believe that especially since we were very familiar with the beers of the month. She had the manager Joe come over and he was great. Food was good beer was great but the service and attention was outstanding! I will NEVER go to any other WL location! They rock!
