The bad news was they were small. The worse news they were the best Chicken I've had in Grand Rapids. They have something call crack spice on it and it is definitely crack and it is addicting. The chicken was absolutely perfectly fryed. I could have eaten a lot more than the wings I had. The batter itself is very tasty too. The spice goes perfectly with their fries too. There's nothing special about the fries themselves but add the crack and they are crack. Lastly I had their blue Koolaid and it was delicious too. The service was a little weird. The cook kept answering my questions from back in the kitchen, but she spoke softly and I could barely hear her. Apparently the cashier overcharged me and they offered to refund that, so they are honest. Everyone was friendly though. It takes about 20 minutes to cook, so beware. Overall a little strange but the food is definitely worth a 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely.

This time they missed on all marks, taste, service, and timing. First when me and my girlfriend walked in the man at the counter took our order. I didn't really care that much maybe he was having a bad day but as we were waiting for our food this couple walks in and orders 15 minutes after us. They get their food before us and as I was almost positive they lost our order they call out my order. For the presentation alone I would give a 0/5. Our food was actually so cold we were laughing. The chicken sandwich was flavorless and the fries were pitiful not only were they cold but the tiny amount of bacon and cheese were stashed away at the bottom. My only hope is this is just a one time thing and not a new era of wing doozy.

I was surprised at how long it took for the 2 hosts to greet us - as we were standing directly in front of them. They were talking to one another, and it was probably work related, but to just stand there staring at them for a couple minutes while they ignored us was awkward. When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. The space is really nice, felt intimate without being overcrowded. We are looking forward to coming back!

I have to say, my food the first time (the opening week) was 11/10. So good, and they even threw in a few extra wings for me. They had the wings in those big food tins and honestly I loved that. Kept them nice n hot n crispy. This visit they had the hot honey wings and oooh my they were so good. Sad to see them no longer on the menu. I tried to voodoo fries for the first time and those were a little too spicy for me so i won't get those again. The second visit was 6/10. They didn't have my hot honey wings so I was super bummed about that. One flavor of wings I got was completely left out, but I couldn't tell you what one bc I never know what flavor is what-- wish they'd label them somehow. This time the wings weren't in the tin anymore but just a plastic to go box. They were much soggier and not as hot as the first time. I tried just the cheese fries this time and they were decent but ehh nothing crazy good. The ranch tho, always a must have. I could drink that stuff. The employees were kinda rude. It was 2 young girls who were in the way back of the kitchen whispering about something together. No one was at the front. They acted like I was crazy when I said I had a to go order. The place already seemed pretty dirty even tho it's newly opened. Nothing to steer me away for good, but the customer service at the door should be a little more welcoming. Overall, food was good and I'll be back soon I'm sure.

I understand that the restaurant industry is tough right now and ingredients/labor aren't cheap, but by virtue of the price alone I'm not sure if Wing Kingz will become a regular spot for me.
