I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at Wingstop today. I called ahead to ask how to place an order, and the employee on the phone told me I could either order online or just come in and place it in store. No problem. So I drove over there thinking I'd just order at the counter. When I walked in, the employees were standing around in the back listening to music and laughing. When I tried to place my order, they told me I couldn't order in person anymore because "the cashier is about to leave" and that I had to order online instead. This was literally the opposite of what I was told on the phone. So I stood there and placed the order online like they said. The app eventually showed that my order was "ready," but when I asked about it they hadn't even finished making it yet. It was pretty obvious they cleared it in the system just to make their times look better. I ended up waiting 40 minutes for a simple order while the employees stood around listening to music and joking with each other. No urgency, no professionalism, no communication--just customers waiting while the staff treated it like a hangout spot instead of a workplace. If you're going to tell customers to come in and order, then refuse to take their order when they arrive, clear orders before they're actually ready, and make people wait almost an hour while the staff hangs out, that's a serious problem. I think they only accept online orders because someone tried to order inside and couldn't. I was a little confused and didn't know how the place was organized or what the protocol was. There was a line, and also people waiting around all over. At first I thought there were two lines--one for orders and one for pick ups, until I realized it was carry out only. Some people were waiting in line to pick up their order, and other people were waiting around until their names were called. The boneless wings were very good, very tender and seasoned well. This is probably the worst wingstop in Michigan. The workers are never friendly while servicing you, they don't greet you when you enter the restaurant. They seem short staffed which I understand, but the way the communicate and engage with customers is sad. I'd rather wait an hour + at a restaurant that treats their customers well and will make my order appetizing/correct. This restaurant has only taken online orders for the past several months. I have a love/hate relationship with this location due to lack of consistency. There are times where they barely toss the chicken in your preferred sauce... and there are times where they are sauced to perfection. Today I ordered an 8pc combo with 4 of the hot honey rub, and 4 of the Louisiana rub. My side dish was the veggie sticks, and I ordered two ranches. The wings were not hot at all and most importantly I couldn't tell which 4 was which. The sauce/rub I chose where barely on the wings and they seemed kind of plain. We live in the area and was happy to see them open again under New Management due to the first management with poor service. We don't know what's worst the first management or the management now. We have gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them several times under new ownership. Not only is our order ever ready it's greasy, things missing to rude employees. I have reached out to them several times with no response. We are done with Wingstop and their lack of service and the people that work there. They are more interested in standing in the back on their cell phones then servicing their customers. I got on a phone call and soon realized I had been sitting there waiting another 25 minutes.
