The building itself seems to have been updated recently. There's tons of seating indoors, and it seems like they do a lot of takeout business. The staff is friendly, and the menu is pretty expansive. You'll find your usual standard fare for hot chicken, with a splash of Indian (Desi) and Korean thrown in as well! You can tell the menu is catered to the current hot chicken craze among Millennials/ Gen Z (see also: "tendies"). The service can be a bit slow right after they open. We arrived right at 11 and found that tbey were still heating up oil, etc-- it took 20-30 minutes for our orders to arrive, making it a tight fit for the lunch break. The real tough pill to swallow for me is the spice level experienced. I ordered the tenders in "cluckin hot" and I can assure you that they were cluckin not. I expect a lot more heat in the second hottest spice tier, so this was a disappointment. That said... I'm willing to give it another shot! CHC, I'll be back -- let's see what the cluck is all about!

It's accurately named that way because it truly is the star. I know most people go to Coney Island restaurants for Coney Dogs (overrated in my opinion) and Chili Cheese Fries. Trust me, the Hollywood Burger will make you second guess getting anything else. A nice sized sesame seed bun layered with a quarter pound of beef, melted cheddar and swiss, onions, tomatoes, light lettuce, mayo, and last but not least...three slices of corned beef. I've had burgers like this before, one was down the road at the famous Food Exchange restaurant, the other I've had some bars near my university. Most of them are the same, but still very unique. Despite the fact that anything could fall off the burger, it didn't keep me from enjoying at all. It's all going to one place, right? The mean was very tender and juicy and all of the other toppings complimented it well. It can do you wonders, especially if you plan on sleeping the rest of your evening. Burger aside, my fries were okay. They were hot, but a little too much salt was put on them. However, it wasn't what I came for. I got my burger and I enjoyed every bite. As mentioned before, the place itself isn't the most visually pleasing. It sits at Gratiot Ave. on the Eastside of Detroit. However, of all of my years going there, the staff were always very cool and they don't take any crap from unruly customers. For my dinner, I ordered item #1, the chicken sandwich and fries, as well as Korean style cucumbers as a side. I specifically ordered the sandwich with the "extreme fire" spiciness level, which was the hottest available spice level offered. The chicken sandwich itself was delicious. It was not greasy in any way and had a nice balance of bun to fried chicken to toppings. The spiciness level, while being advertised as using Carolina reapers, was middling, though I won't hold that against the business. For those that regularly eat spicy, the sandwich will have a nice kick at the "extreme fire" level. The fries that came with the chicken sandwich were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. On top of being well seasoned, the fries came with a custom Korean-inspired dipping sauce that was savory as well. The Korean style cucumbers, often seen as a banchan (side dish) in Korean restaurants, were fresh and well seasoned. They served as a nice palate cleanser between bites of the sandwich and fries. Overall, I would love to come back to this establishment and eat more. I may even want to use the lounge area in the back with the foosball table if I bring friends.
