The workers walk in and out, gone for long periods of time, upwards of 30 minutes or more, either handling personal business or smoking. I kid you not. And there is no accommodations for an excessive wait when it's their fault. The orders get mixed-up and shorted. We keep it simple and just order a large fry and two garlic parmesan chicken sandwiches and they haven't missed yet. The inside is dark and the soda area is a hot mess. I haven't had it for some years, but I always think back when we are it living in LA. I ordered online to pick up, and went for the 15 wings | spicy Korean & Lemon Pepper | with veggies instead of fries. The chickens were crispy as they should be. The lemon pepper brought back memories, and they hit the spot. The spicy Korean was a flavor I didn't know. But as I was eating them slowly, the flavor reminded me of a marinade we use to make chicken sateh for the BarBQ. A mix of ketchap, onions, garlic, sambal, and other Indonesian herbs. I was recently given some free Wingstop in exchange for carrying a few heavy boxes down a flight of stairs, and it may have been the best job I ever had. Your mileage may vary, if you've had any success in life. Nevertheless, Wingstop serves a pretty good chicken wing. Is it any wonder that Rick Ross--who owns several Wingstop locations--has to travel with a defibrillator? It's probably for the best that Wingstop is a little bit rich for my blood. An eight-piece combo with fries and a drink will run you $11. There's a six-piece combo that's a little bit less, but that amount of chicken is only appropriate for children. There's also a 10-piece combo for which you'd have to refinance your house. Keep in mind that these are mere pieces of chicken wings. A 10-piece combo is only the equivalent of five whole chicken wings--and that's not even including the largely inedible (and yet delicious) tips, which they don't give you. I wonder what they do with them, since it's not possible to grow chickens without wing-tips, as far as I know. I've had maybe half of the flavors of wings they sell, but I mostly stick to hot and lemon pepper. I really like the sauce they put on the hot, but I find that it can make the wings kinda soggy, especially if you're not eating them there in the dark, grim-looking dining room. That's not as much of an issue with the lemon pepper wings, which are served "dry." They fry the living shit out of those wings, which makes the skin nice and crisp. The inside is maybe not as moist (ahem) as it would be if they weren't left in the deep fryer for as long, but I'd argue that this is a worthwhile trade off. Anyway, they give you a nice-size tub of blue cheese which, as Diddy might put it, moisturizes your situation and helps preserve your sexy. I guess to make up for how much they charge you for the wings, they give you enough fries that you probably shouldn't eat the whole thing, lest you end up like Rawse. But I couldn't help myself. Wingstop might have the best fries of any restaurant. Full stop. No hyperbole. They're natural-cut fries (which is almost never a good thing, except in this case) with some sort of salty-sweet seasoning. I appreciate them more than I do most members of my family, with all due respect to my mother. I wasn't as impressed with the ambiance. While I was there, there was not one, but two employees taking naps on tables in the dining room, which smelled vaguely of mildewy mop water. There's something about ranch that doesn't taste like it was poured out of a bottle after sitting on a shelf for who knows how long. We got traditional wings, three different flavors, and fries. My husband loves lemon pepper anything and was a huge fan. To me, they tasted a little too artificial and at certain points I was sure I tasted Lysol. The other two flavors were good. The fries were great, still held their potato flavor and didn't taste bad after transporting our food back home. Service was ridiculously slow, not wearing gloves while handling our (and others'!) food, window cleaner bottle was left unattended right next to cooking food, whole restaurant was dirty, bare minimum effort to communicate from employees--only got a "hi" and "okay it's $x.xx" from the register worker. Girlfriend has been vomiting with diarrhea for the past 2 hours.
