They probably just had a bad moment and thanks to me living way cross on the other side of town, I will not be trying this place again. Best of luck!

Because the location was right around the corner from the hotel, we opted to give it a try. The restaurant is on a nice block, with quite a few dining options. Metered parking is available on the block. Its also not far from a beautiful recently renevated park that we also visited that night. We were immediately seated when we arrived. The restaurant is beautiful. I love how colorful it is with the plush velvet like seating. Had didn't visit the restroom while there, but my sister said it could use some cleaning. Our server was nice. I ordered the lamb chop meal, which came with two sides. I selected the mac & cheese with the collard greens. I was told both were popular. The lamb itself was seasoned well. The sauce they include for it on the side was horrible. It had a overpowering vinegar taste. I hated it! The mac & cheese was basic and I didn't care for all of the parsley packed on top. I was told 5 cheeses are used in their mac recipe but I couldn't tell. It had no real flavor. The greens were just okay. It was supposed to have spices in it from what I was told but I had to dump a cup of hot sauce in it for the spice and flavor. One of my sisters ordered salmon. She said the seasoning used on the salmon was really good but she also said you can tell its not fresh salmon; more like frozen pack salmon. Honestly, we were not impressed by the food but the great customer service, gorgeous ambiance, and music selection made our experience.

All of us enjoyed our fish meal. The fried shrimp were pretty salty, but the fish tasted very good. The tiny little cup of Cole slaw it's served with was average. The chips were just okay. Then, he said it tasted better. The ambiance here is good. It's a very clean and comfortable spot to dine in. The prices are a little high, so for a family of three, I spent $50. I typically don't like to spend that much for three meals, but at least we enjoyed our proteins.

We were in the mood for some wings and didn't think we could do any better tee r than this place. Upon entrance, the restaurant was packed with people but there was no delay in getting seated. Our server was very patience since the menu did seem quite overwhelming, despite knowing we wanted wings. For starters, we tried the firecracker shrimp. The shrimp were delicious which left me longninf for more. They come in a small portion so don't expect to be able to share with more than two people. I opted for a 12 piece, bone-in wings split between the Gamecock and Spicy Parmesan. Both flavors were delicious. The wings were massive and I actually couldn't even finish the meal. This place has some incredible wings with many flavors, plenty of tvs to watch any sport, and seems to get busy so it has a great atmosphere. It took me way too long to try the gold standard of wings in Columbia, but it won't be the last.

It has a fun, nostalgic atmosphere without feeling overdone. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye with sweet potato soufflé and green beans. The steak was cooked a solid medium, just as ordered. It was juicy inside with good marbling, but the char from the grill was a little too heavy for my taste & overpowered some of the natural beef flavor. It also could've used a touch more salt. I do think serving it with a compound butter would take it up another notch. The sweet potato soufflé was creamy and smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, not overly sugary like some versions. The green beans were simple, well-seasoned Southern-style beans that paired nicely with the steak. The complimentary cornbread was warm, soft, and a nice touch before the meal. I couldn't leave without trying dessert, so I went with the Bananas Foster cake. The slice was huge and looked fantastic, but it was much sweeter than I expected. I only managed a couple of small bites before calling it quits. If you have a serious sweet tooth, you'll probably enjoy it more than I did. Service was friendly, and the food came out promptly. Despite how busy the restaurant was, everything felt well organized. Overall, Flight Deck delivers a unique aviation-themed dining experience with generous portions and a menu that has something for just about everyone. A few small tweaks to the steak seasoning and char would've easily pushed this to five stars. Would I return? Yes. I'd come back to try another entrée and maybe split a dessert next time.
