So I go through the app, and after poking around for a while was able to find an appointment...for daaaays later. Based on that information, I agreed to close my existing box. However, once the old box is closed, it cannot be reopened at the previous rate. When I was later billed, I discovered I had been charged the new, higher price. Customers should be clearly informed that closing an existing safe deposit box means they cannot get it back at the old rate. This is important information that should be disclosed upfront before asking customers to make a decision. Clear communication and transparency are essential. I hope Wells Fargo provides better training to its staff so customers fully understand any pricing and policy changes before agreeing to them. In my experience, this was an unethical way to conduct business, and I encourage others to carefully review any account or service changes before accepting them.

Plus, this account reimburses me for ATM fees that other banks charge me when I travel. Can you believe that! Every month the bank PAYS ME! Last month they paid me about $20 in interest for the month, plus about $22 to refund me that other banks charged me in ATM fees. Compare this to the big banks. Then there's the customer service which is OUTSTANDING!!! They know me. When I stop into the bank, they say, "Hey John how's it going? How are the kids?" They don't even bother to ask for my I.D., they know me. When I call the bank to deal with something, I get a live person who is helpful and local. They don't have a massive call center in some other part of the world. Really I can't say enough how much I love my bank.
