Wells Fargo Bank

I have been banking with WF since 2003 starting with my home mortgage with them. Very satisfied…read morewith their service and the ease of ATMs all over town. My credit card is also through WF and they have a hyper vigilant fraud detection department. On several occasions, they detected fraudulent charges before they spun out of control. Prime member status is a plus and comes with great benefits. I also like their online banking interface, the ability to deposit checks without envelopes, and deposit checks using a smartphone app.

I want to share a disappointing experience at the Wells Fargo branch in Spring Lake Park…read more I was contacted and offered what was described as a safe deposit box (locker) upgrade for the same price. Based on that information, I agreed to close my existing box. However, once the old box is closed, it cannot be reopened at the previous rate. When I was later billed, I discovered I had been charged the new, higher price. Customers should be clearly informed that closing an existing safe deposit box means they cannot get it back at the old rate. This is important information that should be disclosed upfront before asking customers to make a decision. Clear communication and transparency are essential. I hope Wells Fargo provides better training to its staff so customers fully understand any pricing and policy changes before agreeing to them. In my experience, this was an unethical way to conduct business, and I encourage others to carefully review any account or service changes before accepting them.

I entered the branch in a very bad mood due to TCF's horrid customer service reps…read more The branch was closing in less then 25 minutes as I signed my name to see the next banker. There was one banker working, and 2 tellers, the banker was also a manager so maybe the manager of the bankers? Not sure of the hierarchy. She had one customer at her desk, with another sitting next to me, so I was 3rd in line. I was anxious and stressed because I didn't know if I would have to leave if the bank closed before I met with her. As she finished her customer she came and called the next in line and told me she would get to me next. This made me stop worrying about if I'll be seen today or not. I waited another 10 minutes before I was called back, she got through the 2 pretty fast and I was impressed with that. I laid out all my problems, and she listened until I finished then began walking through 1 by 1 with me explaining along the way. I was took back because I wasn't expecting someone to be this courteous since I had all rude reps on the phone. She mostly said the same things as customer service but she explained why, and what I have done to get me where I am. She showed me graphs, notes, budgeting on her computer and came up with a mini plan. She assigned a new debit card as well, which I appreciated since the store was now closed and she was still helping me as if it was open. I left with a plan, an understanding of what my issues were, how to avoid them and how to budget and save better then I have been. Most importantly I left with a smile, and a happy attitude. She made me do a 180 as far as my mood goes, I left feeling like a wanted appreciated customer of 15+ years. That was the only reason I stayed with TCF. I had plans to close my savings and checking if the branch visit didn't go well. The phone reps are another story but that can come at another time. I forgot her name and I really want to credit her so I will add it ASAP after my next in-store stop. For now. She is a manager. Banker. Desk all the way to the back of the banker area closest to the teller end of the store. Desk facing front of store. This happened 3-4 months ago so she may not be there at that position anymore. But I had to add this review whether it was today or last year. Great experience!

I thought Wells Fargo was the worst until I fell in with Huntington. Brick and mortar locations are…read morelimited in services and helpful customer services. Recently wanted to get a 2.5(?)% rate on my savings account. Was told it was only for new customers. They wouldn't even consider applying this to my existing account, which is sizeable. After years of poor service, that finally did it. Will be withdrawing savings and depositing with a new bank. Only staying with the checking because my wife, who does the bills, doesn't want the headache of switching so many autopayments. Do yourself a favor and avoid this bank at all costs.

Whenever I need to do more than quickly cash or deposit a check, this is the US Bank I'll come to for assistance, and I suggest you do so also! Gwen was the banker who helped me, and if you are lucky enough to have her, you will receiver exceptional attention and care. She bumped me from an old checking account to a new one which saved me $131 a year in unnecessary fees. I am so happy I visited Gwen and this branch and you will be too!

I have 700+ credit, zero late payments and US bank refused to allow me to cashout my rewards (1k+ value). Account review manager Amanda McLauren refused to answer any questions I had regarding my account including: 1. My request for a copy of my cardholder rights/terms of service 2. My request for a copy of the certified letter sent previously with personal information that was sent to the incorrect address by US Bank and left on my OLD ADDRESS (nice work US Bank!) over a month prior Note: I had notified them via phone 20 days before this was left that I would no longer be at that address. They allowed the carrier to leave this letter outside that address so anyone could get whatever personal information was included in the letter. 3. My request for other information about my account has been refused. In summary, it's pretty shocking that after we bailed out this company with an $8.5b bailout they can treat customers this way today. I am seeking legal advice and have filed complaints with BBB and consumer affairs over their refusal to answer any questions about my account.
