Good crunch on the outside and they aren't missing any seasoning on the meat itself. Same thing goes for the fried catfish. I'm not a fan of them cutting the fish too thin. Nice coating with lots of seasoning and the fish itself was thicker and cooked to perfection. What I'm not a fan of is them not making their tartar sauce in-house but if you're giving something from the bottle I guess Krafts tartar sauce ain't that bad. The French fries are nothing to write home about but it's good enough. It's just your basic crinkle fries. Overall, the service was good. When the food is as tasty as the customer service is friendly, it's hard not to love all they to offer. The shop is so small that seating is non-existent, (#3) thus it's strictly a takeout and delivery establishment. Their display case of hot foods changes throughout the day, depending on availability. Anything after the late afternoon is a huge gamble, so when in doubt, call ahead of time to confirm whether an item is available. I love to pop in just to get a good visual of my choices -- and I've always managed to walk out with something delicious. Of all the items I've tried, there have been standouts across the board. The oxtail, stewed chicken with gravy, smothered rib tips, meat loaf, and their über famous honey glazed wings and meatballs are fabulous. Their sides of dressing, sweet candied yams, mac and cheese, and fried green tomatoes make for a perfectly complete meal. Even the cornbread is outstanding, which is really saying something. The loaded macaroni was pretty moist. You also get some toast with your meal and some barbecue sauce. The only thing that was missing from the food was flavor. The meats were tender but just didn't have any flavor which the barbecue sauce had to do the work. Overall food wasn't bad, just wasn't much else.
