I was undecided on the flavors and decided to try the OoooWeee Sweet & Sticky and the Hottie Lemon Pepper. The wings were fresh and hot when I picked them up. The girl at the register was very sweet as well! As far as the taste of the wings. The Sweet and Sticky was just that. They were good, but I wouldn't order that flavor again due to the sweetness. I did not enjoy the flavor of the Hottie Lemon Pepper at all. I will try the Zesty Lemon Pepper next time. I'm a Garlic Parmesan lover so I will try one of those two flavors as well. I'm also interested in the Bangin Bourbon Black Pepper and the Kickin Spicy Korean flavors. I'm definitely looking forward to returning. read more

Ever since I saw their posting on IG, I have been wanting to check Flava Wings out. I drove all the way from Downtown Houston and Wow, they were worth it. When I opened the container I was so happy to see the aluminum tray liner was dry and didn't have ANY grease on it. We tried 5 flavors (burbon black pepper, buffalo, sweet and sticky, garlic parmesan and lemon pepper) and they were all really good. I was persuaded by my Twitter cousins to visit this place. So nice that it wasn't too far. I'm from Memphis and wings is what we do, so I was interested to see how what they had going on. It was definitely reminiscent of Memphis wing spot. The mural was cool and clearly there's ample seating. I called ahead because I didn't want to wait long. The wait wasn't bad and the staff was friendly and helpful. The wings were pretty good, next time I'll ask for fried hard, I like mine a bit crispier. But the sauce ratio was great and the wing sizes are above average. I am used to whole wings but these had me full and the bleu cheese was good consistency. The fries were crispy and a nice touch with the salt AND pepper. So I don't have to add my own pepper. However, I was surprised they didn't have carrots and celery...like really surprised. I went to the original Flavas a couple years ago and remember it being pretty good but I've been hearing the hype about it again from all over and I noticed they built a second location a little closer to me so I decided to try it out again. The restaurant is located in a gas station shopping strip so you can park easily in the front. They have tables inside if you choose to dine in but I saw a lot of propel ordering take out. I came with my cousin on a Saturday around 8PM and it wasn't too busy. We ordered a 10 piece combo with a side of Cajun fries and the drink was a red kool aid if I'm not mistaken. We had the sweet and sticky flavor along with the garlic Parmesan wet. I will say these wings are absolutely Devine! They are big, full of meat, well seasoned and fried to perfection! The fries were just okay, they were the crinkle cut style and that's not usually my favorite. The look aid was also very good as it was very sweet. I will say, the wait time is pretty extreme in my opinion. I remember we waited a while the last time I came but today it definitely took almost 40 minutes for our food to come out. I imagine it's because they are trying it fresh but that's a really long time to wait. I guess next time I'll consider calling it in but they might need a better system for that. Also I noticed that they someone came in around 9:40 to place an order and they turned him away although they don't close until 10PM. I thought that was a little OD. I was in Alief and the marquee called out to me as I passed by. I knew Flava Wings had a new location but I didn't know the address so when I saw it at Eldridge and Bissonnet, I made a note to stop by before heading home. It's the same menu as the Mchard location which made me a very happy girl. It's spacious inside with clean bathrooms and a nice mural on one wall. It looks exactly like the original location, only a little bigger. What I got: 1) Bone-in wings. Half Uncle Hickory's BBQ, half Zesty Lemon Pepper. The chicken was juicy and the skin was perfectly crispy. The zesty lemon pepper was probably my favorite. The bbq were tossed in the sauce and unfortunately not fully coated so there were pieces that tasted plain. Still good, but not what I expected nor wanted. 2) Cajun fries. They were thick crinkle cut with a good amount of potato in every bite. 3) Cajun Corn. Not sure if I've ever described corn as finger licking good, but this one definitely earns that name. It's well seasoned and fried to perfection. Not over done but clearly not just boiled either. 4) Koolaid. They only have red and I'm not mad at it. Definitely better than wing stop, buffalo wild wings, etc. Just a word of warning though, their wings are huge compared to most places, so if you usually get 20 wings at wing stop you'll probably only need 10 wings from here. Their sweet and sticky is the best flavor and I recommend the fries with salt and pepper. All the wings looked like they were just hot, I had to count them to differentiate flavors. Honestly not a big fan of the flavors; they have potential but were just way too salty for my liking. I don't think I could've eaten them if I didn't get some ranch on the side. The hot lemon pepper was also lacking in lemon pepper flavor. They just seemed like a saltier version of the hot.
