We were a bit confused that some of the signs for Pignole say Suastene, but we found out that they had recently been sold. Despite catching them in transition, the winery open its doors early for us. Another reason is that they make both red and white wines, whereas some other wineries in the region focuses on mainly white or focuses on Prosecco. When I expressed that we're visiting, the lady that helped us made an exception to let us taste about 4 wines, which was quite was nice of her. The wines were nice, so we left with a few bottles as the prices are quite low compared to wineries back in California. This was a nice start to wine tasting in this region.

We had a tour of a family run company (Acetaia Del Cristo) with their first barrel of vinegar dating back to 1849. Special, special, special tour and highlight of our trip. We attempted to reserve a tour reservation. With the luck of Cristo, we were provided a very special tour of the facility (Laura & husband) that was the highlight of our 2 month trip to Italy. We tasted 12, 24, 50 and 60 year aged vinegar. Just go!
