We hired Leonard to be our driver for a girls wine tour day in Napa! He was absolutely spectacular and will be using him again next time we are in Napa! He was super informative, prompt and helped to ensure we were on schedule the entire day. He had so many wonderful recommendations, too many to get to all in one day so we are excited to come back to Napa soon!! read more

We were referred to Santa (Leonard) by our hotel staff a month before our trip. We were easily able to book a reservation with him for when we were going to be here in the Sonoma/Napa area. Since it had been 30 years since we last visited the wine country here, we asked him for recommendations on wineries in Napa that focused on great red wines and were fun to visit. He gave us three to see (Materra, Porter Family, and Sequoia Grove) and we really enjoyed all three. During our drive he was able to give us a lot of information about the Sonoma and Napa areas and explained the changes he has seen having lived here all his life. He was a great guide and my wife and I would highly recommend him as a wine tour guide if you are coming for a visit. read more

We had a hard time finding a tour to pick us up in San Francisco, take us to a variety of Napa wineyards and then drop us back. We finally found Santa, who was not only the most reasonably priced but also provided good feedback when we outlined a proposed tour. We ended up with 4 vineyards that all worked out well logistically, along with time for lunch and picking up a box for our wine. Santa was entertaining and informative, and it was clear from his interactions with the various vineyard staff that he was a known character which helped us (managed to alter some times on the fly). If you want someone to pick you up in and around the area and don't have a car or driver, Santa is definitely the way to go. read more

Wow! Wine Tours by Santa was a great experience! He help us find open wineries on Easter Sunday (some were closed for the holiday) and provided some excellent vineyards we didn't have on our list of recommended places from friends. This was a great mother/duaghter trip. It was a beautiful day and he knew most of the workers at the vineyards. Our favorite was Graciana (not on our list) and his suggestion to bring a picnic lunch was perfect! And it's very affordable! Check it out!! read more

Santa was amazing. We travelled from Canada for a visit and he helped us build a one day tour and select wineries to compliment our tastes. On the day of the tour, Santa was a real treat sharing lovely stories of the area and his experience. We had a lovely tour and would highly recommend Santa. The Maid of Honor was tasked to find a wine tour/driver for our weekend in Mendocino County, and she found Wine Tours by Santa. What a find! He told us about the county, and explained that our time spent in each winery was up to us. He had a list, and we could hit up as many of them, or spend quality time in a few. We did the latter because the wineries we visited had an awesome and welcoming staff, and it was just hard to leave. He was on time to go over the details before we left, was professional, and was a great driver. Because my car is older and can't take the windy, steep roads into Boonville, we opted to have him drive his car, which was an additional charge. He picked us up at our hotel in his van, which included water bottles next to our seats so we can be hydrated. And he has satellite radio, and played really good classics from the 60s and 70s. And because he is a legit Santa Claus, there was delight from the staff at each winery because Santa arrived! He really made our tour special, and I highly recommend him if you need a driver. His rates are very reasonable, and he's committed to making sure you and your party have a great time. read more

Booked a wine tasting full day tour for our group of 6 ladies with Santa in May of 2019. Santa booked several tastings for us ahead of time and also coordinated with some of our favorites that we knew we wanted to go to. He picked us up at our hotel and drove our van that we had already rented for the drive up from the city which was very cost effective. Conversation, entertainment, and safety were all top notch during our time with Santa. Overall, we had a great day in wine country knowing we had a safe and friendly driver! We will definitely call on Santa again for our next trip. Thanks Santa! read more

We scheduled a tour with Santa and all went well until the morning of the tour. Santa recommended Oliver's market for lunch stuff so we went there in the morning, however, the car battery was dead when we went to leave. We called Santa to cancel and he offered to help with the car best he could, so he met us at the store, took me to an auto parts store for a battery, then he ran home and got his to tool box, and back to the car to drop in the new battery. The car fired right up but he insisted he drive his car after that, so we jumped in and still made the tour on time. He was just the best person ever and we highly recommend him. read more

We loved our wine tour weekend with Santa Leonard! Booking was easy. We stopped by the Hertz in Napa to add him as a driver on our rental car and we were on our way within minutes. He was a great tour guide, helped us find wineries that we would enjoy, drove us to the top of Mt. Veeder effortlessly, and even helped us get in to wineries the day of...Everyone knows Santa in Napa! Highly recommend. read more

We just did a family trip to Napa and I wasn't thrilled about our driver, Santa Leonard. We had a very large group of 12 people which required a big van, and admittedly as a large group, we were frequently about 15-30 minutes late to our wineries and reservations, but I personally booked all of them and always called in advance to let them know that we were gonna be late. Santa would complain, subtly and overtly, and basically lecture us about being on time. It would also change his mood if we were running late. That should not be your issue, we are paying our driver ONLY to get us from place to place safely. I thought this was highly unprofessional considering that I booked all the wineries, and therefore the responsibility falls on me. The wineries all had no problem with us being late, they kind of expect it for large parties, and many claimed that were in Napa to relax and enjoy ourselves, not worry about timing issues. But he felt the need to stress me out daily for no reason. Lastly, considering driving is his profession, he's just not a good driver. It was pretty uncomfortable sitting in the car, he pumped the brakes weirdly during stops and made uncomfortable turns. Basically just not smooth and caused a lot of nausea. And it wasn't the car, because when I drove it everyone felt relief. He doesn't know how to reverse out a a spot without doing a 20 point turn and he also wasn't paying attention a couple of times on the freeway and slammed the brakes, claiming that he didn't see any brake lights. Overall Grade: Not recommended. read more

Incredible experience! He took me plus 6 other ladies around the Dry Creek Wineries for the full day and we had a BLAST! Great pricing, super flexible with vehicle driving/options. 100% will be using him again! Santa made the day! Santa was wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Such a pleasure to have him guide us around the valley!

Santa Leonard was amazing! I will definitely be booking him to drive us around on our next wine tasting weekend. We told him the area we wanted to visit and he planned out an amazing day that suited what we were looking for. He was flexible when we wanted to add or change a stop, he made sure we got some food when needed and most importantly, got us home safe. He was fun to talk to, super friendly, and he really knows tons of people around town. He is also an excellent photographer...so make sure he takes a picture or two of your group! read more

Santa put together a great day for us touring the Alexander Valley and Dry Creek area. Santa spent time with me prefer to our booking going our our likes and favorite styles of wines. He then tailored the wineries to our wine preferences and winery style. He made all the arrangements and the day could not have been more perfect. He introduced us to two new wineries-Unti & Robert Young which we loved. These are both a bit off the beaten path which we may not have found on our own. Santa is a wealth of information, has lots of stories, local lore and best of all is a great driver!! Highly recommend his wine tours to all our family and friends. read more

We had a group of mostly first-timers come to Napa and Sonoma for a weekend. Hiring Santa Leonard was definitely a great idea! He knows a ton about the area and the wineries and made it a smooth, enjoyable trip! We had our itinerary planned in advance, but ended up making a few last minute changes and Leonard was able to provide suggestions to keep everything on track. And when we ran into a small issue at one of the wineries, he took care of it for us so we didn't have to deal with any of it! He'll drive you in your own car or a rental car, and for us, with a large group, he drove our giant van (and did a great job, even with the super tight driveway!) Overall, we definitely lucked out finding Santa Leonard for our trip and would highly recommend him to other groups (and will hire him again when we come back!) read more

Santa is the BEST designated driver you will ever have! If you're reading reviews right now, trying to find the best option for a wine tour or driver in the area, go ahead and save yourself the time by booking him right now. On a recent birthday trip to Santa Rosa/Sonoma with several friends, we decided last minute to try and find a wine driver to take us to some local wineries. Thankfully, Santa was available on such short notice and came round to meet us within half an hour. He knows ALL of the local wineries, even the smaller more specialty ones on the back roads. He listened to what kinds of wines we liked and came up with a special list of wineries just for us (for those of us who love sparkling wines, he made a stop at a smaller family-owned winery that specializes in sparkling reds - truly a highlight! - and for those who loved the more full-bodied reds, he added a stop at a winery known for its cabs and zins). Santa is also very charming and knowledgable about the area and was super fun to hang out with all day. Plus - he's SANTA! Everywhere we went, kids and adults alike were delighted by him (one woman came up and made a Christmas wish, while another group of wine tasters wanted to take him for their own). His prices are very reasonable, he is a safe and experienced driver, his knowledge of wine and the area is vast, and he is a lovely companion for a day of wine tasting. We hope to see him again on a future trip! 10 STARS read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Santa was so magical that he may actually be the real Kris Kringle. My friends and I didn't know what to expect, but Santa went way above and beyond what we could have asked for in a designated driver. My friends and I were able to lose track of time at each winery and completely enjoy ourselves - Santa would give us a gentle reminder toward the end of each reservation that we needed to wrap up the fun soon and get going to the next place. He also walked us in to each winery to make sure we were taken care of right away. Everyone knows and loves him...It's like having a famous dad (i.e. the real Santa) escort you to a preschooler's birthday party - you get instant cool points and reassurance that you're about to have a great time. After walking us in, he disappeared until it was time to leave. It was the perfect amount of involvement. He was so knowledgeable about different wineries and gave helpful suggestions about how to tackle the day. He also took a bunch of awesome pictures of us (Santa used to be a professional photographer). The best part may have been his subtle Santa jokes, like getting excited about the mention of cookies, and his jolly laugh. And he didn't overdo it. It was perfectly executed. We can tell he delivers toys to all the little boys and girls in the world in one night as his main gig. The man is clearly a professional...efficient with time, knows how to bring fun into the mix, and cares about a job well done. We can't wait to hang with Santa again. He really was an amazing facilitator of a memorable weekend with best friends. read more

Santa not only delivers during Christmas he delivers in June. He drove us one day, filling in our empty wine tasting spots with Jems, and he planned the next day for us which was unbelievable. We spent two wonderful days with Santa Leonard in December! Not only did he drive us in our car, he planned our days for us after getting to know our wine tastes and what we were looking for. He introduced us to wine we were unfamiliar with and we ended up loving! He expertly transported us to various wineries and kept us on schedule without feeling rushed. When we were hungry, he found places for us to eat along the way that fit with our time schedule. All we needed to do was sit back and enjoy the ride! It was a wonderful experience and I cannot recommend Santa Leonard highly enough! Not only did he create a wonderful experience for us, he seemed to know everyone in Napa! Can't wait to go back to Napa and can't wait to see Santa Leonard again! read more

Oh what fun it is to ride....! We always use wine country drivers when we go wine tasting - this is a very convenient and affordable way to go wine-tasting without worry. Leonard, on top of actually being a REAL-BEARD SANTA, was very knowledgeable, friendly and a great driver. He made our day perfect - we had such a fun time and it couldn't have gone any better. We would definitely request him again. read more

From the start, Leonard was responsive on email and phone. He was so into the detail he was kind enough to ask for my soon-to-be honeymooning wife's name as we were three months from being married and would be spending a few of our honeymoon days being driven around Sonoma with him. His ability to pick amazing views and great wines that we enjoyed was impeccable due mainly to the fact I gave him nothing to work with. Fortunately, Leonard is so experienced in this region that he can even take a vague and unspecific list from a customer like me and spin it into gold. If you could talk to the valleys and hills or liken Leonard to a local talk radio host, this guy knows it all and knows everyone. Absolutely a must and with all the confidence and security of a designated driver. read more
